Avian Blood(HAUNTED) "I've done it!!!The fomular for merging humans & birds is finally complete!"The world's best scincetist,Dr Phyo,cried triumphly.Carrying the syringe that held the precious contents,Dr Phyo brought it to a cage of birds & every type of bird was injectcted.An intresting effect began taking place.As Dr Phyo watched,his eyes widen.with pride at the changes that his pets were all going through. 20 years later,a flurry of wings were heard & a girl dropped through the roof & into the classroom.The girl was 1 of the hybrids that was reproduced from the cluster of birds that Dr Phyo experimented with.As the girl sat down,she looked around the empty room,sighed & said,"Well,you're early again,Max!"Max was a Homo-Avian(H.A) at the age of 16.She had a pair of light brown wings decorated with dark brown splashes.Max's full name was Maximum.Her brownish-black hair had streaks of silver in it,glittering when under the sun. She also had brilliantly blue eyes that seemed to stare right through anyone.Her style was unquie,a sleeveless leather hoodie was always worn over a shirt.Her jeans or pants looked old & a pair of black converse shoes was usually worn or slippers for some occasions.A necklace with a star in a circle for a pendant finished up. As she crossed the classroom to the door,a tremor passed through the floor & she jumped back just in time to avoid a horde of stampeding boys coming in.They were H.A too,with different D.N.A.Max was waiting for the last H.A to arrive.Right on cue, the handsomest H.A school otherwise known as Fang Juyo stepped.throught the door. Fang had a pair of black wings to match his styled.jet black hair.His eyes were the colour of midnight,mabye darker.There was only a streak of blone in the sea of darkness of Fang's hair.His jeans were ripped at the knees & a vest was usually what he wore.White/black/gray sneakers & a dual coloured paddle was always worn on his ankle. Also a H.A of 16,Fang was a good stratergy planner. At the A.C.S(Avian Cadets School),Max & Fang were both good looking,athletic,smart & many others.The only flaw Max had was sleepiness.Despite being a A* student,Max frequently fell asleep during classes.As she usually kept to herself,none knew that the reason.why she was always so tired.Actually,she always did not sleep,prefering training her speed & stamina.Fang's senses were intrigue the first time he laid eyes on her so he started spying on her. The late night tailings always ended the same way.Fang was never able to.find what she had been up to.Max was once again snoozing on her desk.The teacher tried surprising her by giving her a pop quiz but Max managed to mutter the answer anyway.Fang stared at her but looked away eventually.Max sat up & yawned,asking the teacher if she could go to the toilet Silently,Fang stood in the shadows,a sillohhtte carved in ebony & moonlight.He saw her creep out of her dorm & spread her wings.Gasping,as no one had seen Max's wings before.She blasted off & judging by the speed,it was at least 300km/1h.Cursing,Fang spread his pair of wings & took.off after her. He came to a stop outside the racetrack.Max quietly flew in & began warming up.For the next few minutes,Max sped around the track.Fang's jaw dropped & he moved backwards instinctivelty.However,his slight movements were caught by Hawklite,Max's pet hawk.Hawklite was saved by Max while she was walking in woods one day.Ever since,Hawklite had returned to Max whenever she needed an extra pair of eyes.Screeching,Hawklite chased Fang out.Stumbling,he crashed into Max,knocking her to the floor & landing on top of her. Max took a second to regain her bearings before realising Fang was on top of her.Fang had already recovered & rolled off.Max screamed & felt a hand clamp over to prevent her from screaming anymore."What...what are you doing here?"Max stuttered.Fang leaned back & replied,"Observing stuff..."Spitting blood out of his mouth,Fang noticed his mouth was bleeding."You're hurt!Here,let me help..."Max leaned forward & wiped off the blood that was trickling down his cheek.Fang cleared his throat "Oh...Sorry,I forgot,you don't like that."Max muttered,instantly backing off.Fang stared at her before raising an eyebrow.Max explained that she was very observent."You sure are weird!"The next day,Max arrived early as usual.Only that she was not the only one in the classroom.As she had spent almost the whole night talking to Fang,she felt at ease with him now.As the rest of class filed in,Fang gave Max a wink & she,in turn,grinned back. Mrs Starling,their form teacher cleared & told the class that they would be going on a camping trip to the Glades of the Winds.Students had to pick partners for the trip.All the girls but Max had their fingers crossed,hoping Fang would pick them.However,he just walk past all of them without a second glance & made a beeline for Max.Nodding,Max & Fang shared a private laugh as many girls & boys sighed in defeat when they saw that the two best people were taken. Hoisting his pack onto his shoulder,Fang kicked Max door & hollered,"Max,you done?"Max opened the door & stepped out,purposely stamping on Fang's toes before taking off to school,with Fang flying in her wake.Slowing down,Max swooped to the ground plucking 2 apples & tossing 1 to Fang who had caught up.Biting into the sweet apple,Fang savoured the juice that came from the apple. As they reached the school,Max & Fang dropped down & disposed their apple cores before dashing into the school,trying to avoid the crowd. Soon,it was time to board the bus.Climbimg up the steps first,Max chose a seat at the back of the bus,forcing Fang to do the same.As soon as the bus set off,Max dropped off to sleep,just like Fang predicted.For they had 2 hours of free time,many students too fell asleep.All except Fang.As the bus jerked,Max's head slid down.onto Fang's shoulder.Fang's eyes opened wide & he heard pecking on the window.Turning,he was startled to see Hawklite pecking furiously on the window.It took him seconds to realise that it was Morse Code.Opening the window,Fang grabbed Hawklite & hauled him in.Disturbed by the sudden movement,Max blearily sat up.Noticing Hawklite,Max bolted upwards & stretched out her hand.Quickly,untying the letter attatched to his leg,Max read before gritting her teeth."What?"Fang asked. Max began ripping the letter into little pieces & burning them.As she watched the ashes fly away in the wind,Max bitterly spat,"The failures of the experiments,Mutanoids..."When the students reaches the campsite,Max was in a.bad mode.Thankfully,they were given the task of huntimg for firewood.That meant that Max could not unleash her fury on the innocent. The fallen branches cracked as Max stamped on them in anger."Why are you so angry?"Fang broke the silence.Max scared him by suddenly wheeling around & enquiring if he had siblingd or not.Answering no,Fang wondered how this was related to the question.Max began walking again but started explaining."When I was born,I was a fledging(The youngest offspring)Both my parents died for.some unexplained reason.I had an older brother & an older sister." Dylan could not withstand the changes but Star & I pulled through.For months,Star & I savaged for food.Star always took care of me.She was more then a sister,she was my best friend.But one day,durimg the time when we were searching a rubbish bin,a guy came up to us & ask us if we had a home.Then he took care of us.At first we were glad that someone was looking after us but we soon realised that he was a scincetist.Star & I tried to escape but as we almost got to the portal.Star was shot by a tranquiliser gun." "As I tried to drag her with me,Star told me to go & pushed me into the portal.I was only 6 then."Max stopped,tasting tears that dripped down."The last thing I remembered was Star's face before she vanished & I appeared on a street.I left her alone...Sometimes the memories still haunt me."Max shuddered.Fang put a comforting hand on her shoulder & consoled her."Thanks,Fang.For listening & all."She continued."Anytime..."Fang smiled. After collecting enough firewood,the duo returned to camp.A hearty meal was then prepared & after a few activities,the entire camp went to sleep.Everyone but Max.She sat in a field of grass & looked.up into the sky.Countless stars lined the sky that night.Leaning against a tree trunk,Max recalled the time spent with her sister. 11 year ago,Max & Star were on a rooftop & they were also looking at the night sky."Sis,what are those glittery specks?"Max had asked."Those are called stars..."Star smiled"Is'nt that your name?""Yes,so I am all.the stars up.there.Always watching!""In that case,I.will be the moon!"Max determinely said.Star giggled & whispered back,"No...Your name is Maximum.You are the best in everything!" Max sat there & single tear rolled down.her face.A finger came out of nowhere,sweeping the tear off her face.Fang sat next to her & made himself comfortable."Hi,Fang..."Max mummured."What's up?You ususally.don't cry."Fang stated.Max rolled her eyes & told him,"I don't care how much avain blood I have in me,but I'm still human." "Oh yeah,sorry to ruin the peaceful moment.What's a Mutanoid?Ow!What's that for?"Max had turned around & smacked Fang on.the arm."Mutanoids,they are the failures.H.As who did not have a sucessful change but did not die.I'm happy that Dylan died,to put him out of his misrery.I wonder what they did to Star?" Max gritted her teeth for she felt a fresh wave of tears coming. "I'll never know...I won't go back to the campsite,it reeks of smoke...I'll just sleep here."True to her words,Max lied down,using her arms as pillows & slowly dropped off to sleep.Smiling,Fang gently shifted her so that her head was rested on his lap.Looking at Max's peaceful sleeping face,Fang her cheek,remembering the time when she had wiped the blood off his mouth.Soon,unbeknowest to himself,Fang soon fell asleep.
