Title: Finding a Purpose
Author: kpopfan3
Genre: angst, character death
Reviewer: cherrylisa
Mild Warning:
I’m not going to hold back here mainly because its angst combined with suicide and life. So be mildly warned that this is going to be long and that I’m not going to be pretty ‘nice’ about this. I’m going to judge everything with partial criticism and compliments. Thank you and I hope you enjoyed your review.
Story title (5/5):
The title is great, I must say. When I look at the title and the plot, it has its connection which is nicely done. You portrayed ‘Purpose’ in a different way that I imagined how it would be. Purpose is such a deep word in life. And every single question is hard to answer. The title’s insight is great. You could also feel the vibe of angst resonating in it. A very eye-catching one. Good job in picking the title.
Appearance (6/10):
The appearance which I judge is accordingly judged into two: Poster/Background and Presentation.
Poster/Background (2/5):
The poster is really not that great. The blending and the contrasting of colours are not well-enhanced. I think I’m seeing a short-noticed collage project passed to the sissy professor who wants a pretty immediate sassy art. The pictures are too cramped together. It shouldn’t be like this. I’m guessing you want to point out or give the feeling of sorrow and angst by contrasting the cramped pictures of Zelo and Jongup with grey? I don’t anymore. But let me take things off from the poster, the other pictures which are grey. Seriously take those things off and leave the colour part alone together with the quotes and the title. Or you could choose another pictures. Bingo. It’s great already. Just a simple poster with that is already a beauty.
Presentation (4/5):
The presentation is great. You did a very good job in dealing with the presentation. The font and size is okay and is easy to read. The vocabulary is easy to understand and you did a great job in presenting the genre of angst and suicide.
Description (9/10):
The description is simple and kept everything hidden and only gave out what is right. It gave some clues and lures people immediately. A simple description that easily lures people in.
Characters (15/15):
The characters? You’ve done a great job. I could see their true attitudes in the story and I could see their personal background also since Jongup said it on the first chapter. Their characters may be a bit confusing a little, but when the readers read it again or not, they will immediately pick up the character’s attitude and background.
Originality/Plot (16/20):
Since the title says Finding a Purpose, I was expecting a well-develop
