i know it says complete but i wrote a poem a while ago and i think it suits this story pretty well

It tears my heart out that you’d cry

Because of me, when I say good-bye

When you see me in betrayal

The sight of you, so cold, so frail

I couldn’t move, couldn’t breathe

Couldn’t seem to find my feet

To run to you, in your waiting arms

To be by your side, in safe or harm

I promised once, I’ll promise again

When you’re in need, you’ve got my hand

To hold, to help, to keep you up

On your feet, keep looking up above

Into the sky, the clear bright blue

Your eyes, in light, reflect that hue

I said it once, I’ll say it again

Forever and more, until the end

Side by side, more than a friend

We’ll be together, once and again

It tears my heart to see you cry

Because of me, you said good-bye

You left, in search of hope

You left me, dangling by a rope

Of despair, of sorrow, that you’d leave me so

That where you go, I’ll never know

In that moment, I realized it

That the two of us, we’re the perfect fit

Like two halves of a heart, like a key to a lock

The look in your eyes, whenever we talk

I should have noticed, should have seen

Should have known that we were meant to be

But now it hurts, that you say good-bye

And that because of me, you would cry

But don’t worry, I’ll be by your side

When it hurts, when the tears dry

I’ll kiss you, tell you that it’s alright

And that we’ll never part

Always and forever, side by side
