Taemin was sat in the passenger seat clutching his hand phone and looking at the time every 30 seconds without fail. Minho was in the drivers seat thumbs twiddling against the steering wheel as the traffic jam slowly moved along. Taemin began fidgeting and Minho snickered

"Taemin we will get there in plenty of time. We aren't going to miss the show" He reminded his husband once again

"But Minho this traffic isn't even moving now!" Taemin complained a little more as Minho gently put his foot on the accelerator and idled along a bit further up the road.

Minho slowly brought the car to a stop once more and immediately saw that the traffic lights were out and people were having to stop and go and to give way to people instead of the lights. The road was being operated by the police men giving the all clear for drivers to go. He rolled his eyes and looked towards a still threating Taemin and pulled the youngers left hand into his warm hand "The traffic lights are busted, once we get through them we should be fine and the raods should be clear"

Taemin nodded but still persisted and kept on eyeing his phone every 30 seconds.

Jongin made his way to the backstage area of the school, his school were putting on a musical and he being a 1st year had gotten himself a small part as one of the main dancers. He went through his warm up routine and all the cast had one final rehearsal before starting to get into character and costume. Jongin saw his phone flash out of the corner of his eye and groaned

"Kai-ah that's the fourth time in 10 minutes just answer the phone!" His friend Chanyeol groaned beginning to get annoyed by the device keeping on vibrating

"Aniya it's only my Umma and Appa wishing me luck, and they are on their way to watch" Jongin shuddered and Chanyeol smirked

"Ohhh Umma and Appa Choi!" He clapped as Jongdae walked by

"Kai-ah are your parents coming to watch you?!" Jongdae asked happily

With a bitter tone the boy simply replied with a plain "Yes."

The two boys snickered and began getting changed themselves. It probably seems that Jongin doesn't like his parents but don't be fooled he loves them to pieces. It's just that they are so embarassing! For as long as Jongin could remember he had always been left standing red faced and wishing the grounf would swallow him whole after a school play, sports day or awards ceremony. There was no harm in being proud of Jongin, heck he had accomplished quite a lot for his yougn age and his parents were so proud, so very very very proud. Jongin's right eye began to twitch as he thought about what his parents could possibly do to humilate him....

"Thinking about your parents next embarassing blunder?" Kyungsoo asked

Jongin groaned "That's even if there's anything they haven't done"

"It's your parents I'm sure they'll think of something" Kyungsoo laughed as Jongin's eye twtiched again "Did you always have that twitch Kai-ah?"

"No I think I developed it as a way to deal with my parents embarassign shenanigans"

Kyungsoo laughed and wished his friend good luck before sitting in the audience and taking his seat. Around 10 minutes later Jongin recieved a text from Kyungsoo telling him that his parents were in the audience already. 

....

"See Minnie I told you we would be here" Minho smiled taking his seat next to Taemin

"Only just!" Taemin whispered as the curtain came up and the lights went out

Minho and Taemin sat through the whole production, clapping at the end of scenes with the other parents and members of the audience. Taemin got a few snapshots of Jongin in action and they both smiled like proud parents when their son stepped on stage for the first time. At the end of the show every performer stood in front and bowed when their character name was called. When Jongin stepped forward he got a huge applause and a few whistles but the loudest cheer was from his friends and parents.

"Minho d-did Jongin's eye just twitch?" Taemin asked scrunching his eyes at their son "We have to remind him to get that checked out..." 

After the show all parents were allowed backstage to see their children and as soon as Taemin laid eyes on Jongin he squealed happily

"Aaaah Jonginnie you were so good!" He cooed pinching the boys cheeks

Jongin blushed and laughed off the compliment "Hey where is Appa?"

Just as the words left his mouth Minho wrapped his arms around the boys waist and picked him up once and gave him a bump "You were brilliant Jongin-ah" he smiled like a proud father

"T-Thanks Appa"

"Ya!" Taemin smacked Jongin's arm

"Thank you Umma" Jongin smiled at Taemin

"Jonginnie you were brilliant, You get your dance skills from me!" Taemin rambled on

"Jonginnie?" Jongdae chided

"Oh please do explain the cutesy name" Chanyeol chuckled

"How has Jonginnie never told you this story?... K-Kyungsoo-ah has Jongie ever told you about that story?" Taemin asked his son's friend

"N-No Mrs Choi" Kyungsoo smiled back as Jongin's eye twitched heavily

"Oh Minnie you were right his eye does keep twitching" Minho frowned gently swiping his thumb over Kai's right eye

"Get that checked out!" Taemin scolded and turned back to the waiting Chanyeol, Jongdae and Kyungsoo "Well when Jongie was little he couldn't really say his name so we just sort of called him Jongie...but as he got older and better at speaking he thought his name was Jonginnie not Jongin! So when he went to school and introduced himself he so very adorably called himself Choi Jonginnie to the whole class!"

"Appa make Umma stop please I'm begging you!" Kai hugged onto Minho and hid his face into his Appa's shoulder

"What's he saying?" Taemin asked looking there way

Jongin's mischevious Umma picked up the turned off micro phone and tapped it on his head "Speak up Jonginnie or forever hold your peace!"

"Stop embarassing me!" he cried

The trio of Jongin's present friends took it as their cue to leave and let Jongin talk to his parents alone. His broke free from his Appa's hold and stood facing his parents

"Please stop embarassing me!" He finally spoke to them

"When do we embarass you?" Taemin crossed his arms and sulked

"ALL THE TIME!" Kai spoke up "Every sports day, awards ceremony and pretty much any time we're in public!"

Minho scoffed "We're your parents we are meant to embarass you pabo!" ... "But we'll tone it down because we love you araso"

Jongin sighed relived and nodded.

Taemin on the other hand was still sulking and pouting "Umma I'm sorry but it's really embarassing!"

"Jonginnie, Minnie would you like to go get some ice cream?" Minho asked hoping to get both of his boys talking again

"Only if I can have chocolate and banana together" Taemin and Jongin mumbled in unison

Both looked at each other and grinned, mirrored smiles and that was all it took for Taemin to stop being sulky with his son.

"Like Mother like chid" Minho tutted

"Oh hush Minho he does have some of your traits!" Taemin chuckled "Like that twitch in his right eye, you get that when you get jealous of something or someone"

"I do not!"

Minho walked in front of them to the car willing his right eye to stop twitching before his boys caught up with him.
