Day 26- Boneless
To Death, my friend
Chapter 28
Day 26- Boneless (Saturday)

He had followed him earlier as the letter first came upon him, his location being closer to Jooyeon’s. Half an hour ago, he was hesitant to open the letter and when he had read the letter, Zelo just watched him by the main door.
He looked sad, and regretful, feeling suddenly bad for what he had done in 2005. He remembered the past memories, the happy ones he had lived through with his wife and his daughter back then. As it went down, happiness turned into anger and verbal fights. How did they come upon that situation when everything was great?
He thought about it, was it because of their daughter? Even though he had accepted her shocking declaration, he and his wife still ended up blaming each other of what the neighbors’ whispered everyday as they went past them. If only everyone agreed to these human decisions…
They approved it and they knew the other girl, known for her cheerfulness and her sweet warm smile. They didn’t hate her at all, and couldn’t bring themselves to despite the angering comments around them.
It was a greedy decision in the end. She parted away from them because they wanted a new life, a clean book representing them, that’s why they moved out of the city, far from their daughter, far from each other. They had learned to despise each other and what was once a beautiful story, turned into a living nightmare, everywhere, every day.
Zelo stayed quiet behind Mr. Lee, Jooyeon’s biological father, as he bent down, picking up the purple crystal, a lil’ smaller than the others, while the man tore the letter into the smallest pieces he could, because he didn’t want to “stain” his present with the past memories anymore.
Zelo’s trip to the second letter was the same. Jooyeon’s mother felt really bad, thinking that their daughter must have hated them ever since the divorce, but to see a letter like this a last time, she felt somehow relieved. Relieved because she believed that her daughter had finally achieved into overcoming that past event.
She tore the paper too and threw the pieces out of the window from her high apartment while she didn’t know she was watching Zelo fly out too, with a navy shiny piece of crytstal.

“Heeeey yooo!” Zelo barged in the room, grinning with his hands holding a crystal in each.
Jungah was startled by the sudden door opening and sighed seeing who it was. Her eyes grew big when she saw the colorful objects Zelo possessed. She high-fived him and messed up his hair while grinning.
“Good job Spaghetti boy!”
“Thank you noona.” He smiled but soon it wore off as he looked around. “Where’s Nanoona?”
Jungah first chuckled as how funny “Nana Noona” sounded coming from him. “She went out earlier to clear her mind. She learned a terrible thing last night…” Jungah looked down.
“Ah, really?” He paused before smiling. “Then I’ll try to cheer her up with the good news. You keep them noona.” He gave them to Jungah.
“Sure, you do that. I’ll guard these. Don’t come back before you can make her smile,” yelled Jungah as he ran out.
“Count on me!” his voice echoed through the hallways.
