“Jongdae-ah pali, were going to be late you !” Kyungsoo screams banging against Chen’s door “JONGDAE!” Kai chuckles from beside his frustrated boyfriend “Ya yeobo, we can make a grand entrance when we get there ne?” Kyungsoo pouts as Kai kisses his cheek softly “Smile!”

Kyungsoo chuckles just as Jongdae steps out of his room. Both Kai and Kyungsoo’s jaw drops.

Chen stands their awkwardly fumbling with his clothes “Is-Is it okay? Tao and Kris bought it for me and demanded that I wear it-

“No. You look fine hyung” Kai says reassuring his friend

“Ne, they have good fashion sense” Kyungsoo gives him a thumbs up

Chen is wearing tight black jeans along with a tight v-neck black shirt, showing off his muscular chest and arms. His eyes are done with eyeliner and his hair is styled. Although it is simply casual, Chen looks jaw dropping and gorgeous.

“Hyung I never knew you worked out” Kai states mockingly

“Whatever Jongin. Now we got to go, Sehun and Lu Han will be waiting for us out the front. The others have already entered to watch Minnie” Chen explains

“Okay cool, well then. We ready to get Baozi?” Kyungsoo chuckles

“Hell yeah” Chen grins and the trio high five each other “Hwaiting!”

“Oh wow, hyung you look good!” Sehun exclaims “Yeah Chennie” Lu Han says approvingly “Who knew such simple clothes can make you look y” Lu Han comments

Chen laughs “Alright you two”

Chen, Kyungsoo and Kai have just arrived to the party the seniors are holding and have met up with Sehun and Lu Han out the front, just like they planned.

“Hi Kyungsoo hyung and Jongin hyung”

“Hey”

They all greet each other happily. “Okay, did Tao say Xiumin was here yet?” Kyungsoo asks getting straight to the reason why they’re all here. “Yeah he did” Lu Han says

“Let’s go in then” Kai states readying himself

Chen nods I will protect you Minseok and get you back. I need to tell you what I’ve always wanted to say. It took me so long to find you and I’m not letting you slip away again. Kim Jongdae, HWAITING!

As soon as the five enter the party, all eyes are on them

Of course everyone was lured into Lu Han, he is such a cutie and has the most adorable features but above all that, Lu Han has a manly aura, emerging with masculinity and fire. Sehun may be young but he is very mature, his tall and the sharp features of his capture anyone’s stare. Kai and Kyungsoo attract looks because they are of course new to this area but not just because of that, Kai is dark-skinned and it’s very obvious that he is muscular and strong and Kyungsoo’s killer smile can knock anyone off their feet.

And then there’s Chen. Chen wearing all black and looking deadly y.

Chen ignores the stares getting thrown there way and easily spots Kris through the crowd.

Kris smiles and waves them over, Lu Han grabbing hold of Sehun’s hand so as to not lose him in the crowded party and Kai wrapping a strong arm around Kyungsoo’s waist and pulling him close. Chen leads the way and greets Kris with a handshake

“Sup Chen glad you guys could make it Kai and Kyungsoo. Sehun stick with Lu Han arasso?”

Kris commands and they all nod.

“Where’s Xiumin?” Chen asks

“On the other side of the room, watching you- Ya don’t turn around make it look natural dummy! Let’s go greet the others first” Kris tugs Chen and motions for the others to follow them “But I want to see what Minseok is wearing” Chen whines “No you idiot! Don’t make it look sus, keep walking before I get Tao to wushu you” Chen instantly shuts up and Kris smiles victoriously

“Xiumin? Minnie? What are you staring at?” Joon waves his hand around Xiumin’s face. Xiumin got caught off guard when Chen walked in…

“O-oh sorry just, saw my friends heh” Xiumin says

Lee Joon sighs. He knows Xiumin was watching Chen and that just completely pisses him off “Aw true” Lee Joon says after a while. Xiumin sighs sadly, he knows his hurting Joon but he can’t help it. His feelings for Jongdae are too overwhelming…

A slow song starts to play. Joon grins “Dance with me Minnie?”

“Heh?!” Xiumin stutters

“Dance with me. Come on” Joon tugs at Xiumin’s hand, leading him to the large dance floor.

“Where did they go?” Tao asks looking through the crowd. His phone vibrates, it’s Kai. Kai and Kyungsoo are on the dance floor at the moment

Tao! Xiumin is on the dance floor with Joon. Tell Chen to grab Lay and drag him to the dance floor. Joon’s trying to make Chen jealous, let’s play with fire. Pali!

Tao frowns, “Gege is this a good idea?” he asks Kris beside him. Kris frowns as well “Yo guys read this”

One by one the group of friends read this, Chen and Lay the last one

“W-what what the hell!” Lay screams

“I’m not doing that!” Chen shouts at the same time

“Ya it might be good idea idiots, so you guys can watch Minnie from there” Lu Han explains

Lay and Chen share a look

“Fine, but yo I’m leading” Chen states

“Whatever. Aish let’s do this then” Lay grabs Chen’s hand and together they walk out on the dance floor. Tao watches after them worriedly

“Are you sure this will work? What if it makes it worse? Plus Xiumin knows that Lay would never try a move against Chen” Tao says

“Yeah but still, jealously still finds a way to take over. Like Lee Joon over you and Mir- oh ” Sehun quickly covers his mouth, realizing he stepped into dangerous and sensitive territory for his friend Tao. Tao blinks “Sorry Tao I didn’t mean it it just slipped out. Tao-ah sorry-

“Stop Sehun it’s fine, honestly. But your right I understand what you mean” Tao smiles softly at the maknae, successfully calming him down

“We’ll just stand here and keep watch. Sehun and Lu Han, if you guys want you can make your way to the dance floor as well” Kris says thoughtfully

“Alright. We’ll be there” Lu Han intertwines his hand with Sehun’s and they walk off towards the dance floor.

Kris sighs as he watches Tao, slipping an arm around his waist “Why didn’t you tell me about what happened to you and your brother Mir-ah?” Kris whispers

“Because I couldn’t. Mir made me swear not too…but its okay, hyung understands why I told you guys. I’m sorry I couldn’t say it sooner” Tao whispers sadly back

“It’s okay baby. It’s fine” Kris hugs Tao tight and the younger sighs contently

“I need to make things right with Joon-ah, Mir hyung wants me too. Also, they both need to make amends. I know Joon sees Mir when he looks at Xiumin ge…he still loves Mir…"

Chen looks to the side and sees Xiumin and Lee Joon very close by

“Why must we do this?” Chen whispers to Lay in front of him “Because we just do. Now hold me, quick their looking” Lay whispers quickly back

So Chen does just that. Wrapping his arms around Lay’s waist he pulls him flush against him. Lay yelps slightly but overcomes the awkwardness, wrapping his own arms around Chen’s neck and resting his head on his shoulder. “This is so awkward” Lay states laughing slightly “I know. Thank you for helping me” Chen says back, also laughing

Xiumin stares at the two close by him. Chen is smiling so wide and laughing and Lay is giggling against his shoulder. The sight pains him.

“Hey Minnie, come here” Joon quickly pulls Xiumin towards him

“N-no I’m sorry, I can’t. I’m really sorry Lee Joon but…I need to go”

Xiumin pushes Lee Joon away from him and with tears flowing down his cheeks, quickly rushes out. “Xiumin-wait!” Joon screams running after XIumin quickly

Everyone perks up at the whole commotion

Chen stares at them, shock keeping him in place. Did me dancing with Lay hit him this hard? Can I really hope?

“Ya idiot, go!” Lay shoves Chen

Chen smiles gratefully at Lay. One by one he looks at his friends who have helped him so much, Kyungsoo, Jongin of course his two brothers and best friends who have helped him all these years, becoming his pillar of support, then his new found friends; Zitao who gives him that little nudge whenever he needs it, Kris, Lu Han, Sehun and Lay. I have the best brothers in the world. Now, its time to get my baozi.

Chen shows them all one last smile, holds up his fist and everyone understands. They all shout “HWAITING!”

“Xiumin! Wait, Xiumin!” Joon finally catches up with Xiumin and grabs him around the wrist, whirling him around to face him “Ya Xiumin-

“Joon-ah stop. Please” Xiumin is crying so hard right now. The sight pains Joon…

“Xiumin-

“Joon. I’m sorry. You-You don’t like me. You don’t!” Xiumin screams. Joon is hell confused “What are you talking about I do- “YOU DON’T! You don’t. I know what love is, I know what it feels like and I- I see the pictures you have Joon. You never told me what really happened between you and Tao’s hyung and I know that that’s some reason why Tao holds a grudge against you but you-you still love him Joon. It’s not me its Mir. It’s always been Mir and for me…it’s always been Jongdae. Kim Jongdae”

Xiumin wipes at his tears harshly as Joon can feel his own forming

“I-

“When you first saw me, I was with Tao. I was wiping his mouth correct? I was looking after Tao”

Joon doesn’t know how to respond so just nods. “I reminded you of Mir” Joon’s heart is pumping by now

“Xiumin-

“You need to make things right. Don’t let it go. Like me, don’t make the same mistake as me hyung” And with one last look, Xiumin turns away

“Joon! LEE JOON!” Joon looks up from his spot. After Xiumin left, the realization hit him hard. He just leaned his back against the wall and sank to the floor, crying in his palms. Until that voice that he thought he hated, but that voice that Xiumin loves deeply, awoke him from his sobs

“Ch-Chen?” Joon says huskily

Chen stops in front of him, huffing hard from his run. “W-Wheres Xiumin?” he pants

“He left. He went that way” Joon points at the direction he ran in

“Thank you”

Before Chen can leave, Joon has something he needs to say

“Jongdae, wait” Chen turns around confused. “Yeah?”

Shakily, Lee Joon stands up “I made a mistake. I realized that, I don’t in fact love Xiumin. I do, but as a dongsaeng. I just wanted you to know and for us to be alright. How about it?” Joon extends a hand for a handshake. Lee Joon knows that Chen looks at Xiumin differently. He can see it.

Chen smiles “I’d like that hyung” shaking Joon’s hand

“Now go get him” Joon says smiling back at his newfound dongsaeng. “Thanks hyung”

Joon watches as Chen turns away and runs towards the direction he pointed him in. I hope you two can find happiness. Unlike me…

Xiumin walks around aimlessly, having no idea where to go. Still crying he continues to walk, images of Lay and Chen not leaving his mind. Is it real? Or am I letting it get to me for no reason? I don’t get it, what’s going on?!

Xiumin keeps sobbing and walking.

“Hyung, Hyung, Jongdae-ah loves Minseokie hyung! ahahah look your blushing!”

“It hurts hyung, I scrapped my leg” “It’s okay Jongdae-ah hyung will take care of you” “Thank you hyung!”

“Look Minnie a shooting star, I wish for us to be together forever!”

“Hyung, I love you a lot, you know that right?”

“AAAAH!” Xiumin shouts. The memories of him and Jongdae together come flooding back. When they first met, how they grew together, Jongdae helping him whenever he needed it, when he fell in love…when he left and when Jongdae found him again. “Jongdae-ah” Xiumin sniffs, now standing still and crying

Xiumin feels a few drops of rain hit his head but continues to stand there

“Aw hey baby, you need some release?” Xiumin looks up to see four intimidating guys stalking towards him

“I-I I don’t need anything. Thank you” Xiumin makes a move to leave but one of the guys grabs his hand, yanking him harshly back “A-ah it hurts!” Xiumin complains trying to get the mans grip off him “Aw, feisty aren’t we? Come on, we’ll make you feel good” the three behind him chuckle

“I don’t want too! Let me go! GO AWAY!” Xiumin screams, frightened. The rain begins to pour

“Aw come on baby, your too cute and y for me to let you go” the man grabs Xiumin’s waist and pulls him closer, successfully grinding on him “A-ah stop. Let me go” Xiumin cries desperately trying to pull himself away. The guy is too strong.

“Aw let us have some fun” another guy comes from behind the man holding him and grabs at Xiumin’s . Xiumin yelps and the guys laugh “This guy is fun hey?” one of them says laughing “ I’m hard now, come on let’s just take him!” the guy grinding onto Xiumin says

Xiuming gasps. “N-NO LET ME GO! LET ME GO LET ME THE GO!” Xiumin screams thrashing about

“Are you guys ing deaf? He said let him go!” the voice causes everyone to stop. Xiumin’s heart thumps loudly and his tears continue to fall. Thank god it’s raining so his tears blend in with the rain. However, regardless of the rain, Chen can easily see the tears streaming down his face. And it fuels him even more.

“I’m warning you, let him go” Chen sneers

“Oh yeah, and what will you do if I wont” the guy teases, groping Xiumin’s even more. Xiumin yelps loudly “Jong-Jongdae” he pleads wanting to run into Chen’s warm embrace so badly.

Chen is pushed over the edge by now “ING LET HIM GO!”

Chen lunges forward and the guy holding Xiumin pushes him harshly away as Chen’s body coldies with the guys. Xiumin falls hard and looks up

Chen is fighting two guys at the same time, successfully hitting them hard as they fall and limp away. Turning around Chen spin kicks another guy and he too runs off. The last guy is the one who was holding Xiumin. The guy throws a surprise punch his way, hitting Chen square in the face, just under his left eye, cutting it. Blood was oozing but it didn't faze Chen. Not one bit. He was too pissed.

Ducking the second punch thrown at him, Chen hits him hard across the face and he falls to the floor. Chen hovers above him and kicks him against the stomach “No one touches my Minseok. Ever. You understand me!” and with one final, last, hard kick, Chen spits on the guy. “Get out of here!” Chen screams. The guy makes an effort to stand up, but finally does, limping away and cursing at the two. Chen breaths in, slowly, in, and out, calming himself down

“Jongdae” Xiumin cries from the floor, awakening Chen. “Minseok!” Chen turns around and rushes to Xiumin who is still lying on the floor. The pouring rain may be cold but as Chen engulfs Xiumin and pulls him into his arms; it’s now warm for the two

“Jongdae-ah” Xiumin whispers crying into Chen’s chest. Chen pulls him even closer “Don’t ever scare me like that again Minseok. Don’t.” Chen puts his arms under Xiumin and picks him up; carrying him bridal style as Xiumin buries his head into his chest. “Let me take you home” Chen whispers, holding him so close. Chen doesn’t know if the heart he hears beating is his, or Xiumin’s…could it be both of theirs, beating as one?

“Ahh” Chen hisses as Xiumin cleans the cut on his face “Ssh, bare with it” Xiumin coos, gently wiping and cleaning the cut. After his done, he places a bandage on it to keep the cut from getting infected until it closes and heals. “All done”

Xiumin stands up from his seat and places the first aid kit back into his drawer.

After carrying Xiumin home, Xiumin found some spare clothes for Chen to change into and the two changed out of their wet clothes. After that Xiumin forced Chen to let him take care of his injury

“Do you want anything to eat?” Xiumin asks. Being around Chen is making him more nervous…but he needs to hide it. For both their sakes.

“No I’m okay. Just…come here” Xiumin turns around to look at the soft smile Chen is giving him “Huh?” Xiumin asks dumbly “I said, come here” Chen pats the spot beside him. Xiumin just nods and walks over to him, stiffly sitting down beside Chen

“W-why did you come out? I thought you were with Lay?” Xiumin averts his gaze away from Chen to stare down at his carpeted floor. “I went out for you Minnie” Chen whispers. Xiumin can feel Chen’s eyes on him “You didn’t need too”

Chen sighs “I lost you once Minseok and it’s not going to happen again” Exasperated Xiumin sighs “You didn’t lose me Jongdae. I decided to leave. You should go back to Lay he might be wondering where you are. Let yourself out” Xiumin stands up, fighting hard to keep his tears at bay and determined to make his way into his bedroom when a strong grip is placed on his wrist

“You’re not going anywhere Minseok. I need answers” Chen growls. “You don’t need anything from me Jonggdae! Just let me go and leave! NOW!” Xiumin screams back, flinging the hand off of his wrist.

“KIM MINSEOK!” Xiumin has his back faced to Chen. He stops leaving but doesn’t turn around. “Just go” Xiumin says brokenly. The sight of a happy Chen with Lay is piercing into his heart. All his done is cause trouble for his best friend. “I’m not going anywhere Minseok-ah” Chen says determined

Xiumin groans turning around, grabbing a nearby pillow to throw it at Chen “What do you want from me! An explanation! YOU WANT THAT!” the tears are now falling but Xiumin is too tired to fight them

Chen catches the pillow and throws it to the side to have another one being thrown at his face “WHAT DO YOU WANT JONGDAE!”

“I WANT YOU TO TELL ME WHY YOU LEFT! WHY YOU LEFT ME, NO WORDS, NOT EVEN A GOODBYE, NOTHING! I WANT TO KNOW WHY YOU LEFT ME MINSEOK!” Chen is now crying too, hugging the pillow to his chest. Xiumin hates the sight of Chen crying…it pains him too much

“Jongdae, just forget about me. Forget about everything. And leave” Xiumin weakly throws another pillow at Chen and turns away

“Do you know how much it hurt Minseok? To have that one person that you cherish most in this world, to leave without a word. Do you have any idea how long I’ve been looking for you, how much I yearned for you, how badly I wanted to be by you?” the tears are falling down like a waterfall by now for both of them

Xiumin puts his head down and clenches his fist, biting down at his bottom lip to prevent from crying out loud

“I realized at the last minute just what you really meant to me but before I could tell you, you were gone Minseok” Xiumin is hell confused by now.

Turning around again in a flash of anger, Xiumin is boiling “What the hell does that mean?! You want a bloody explanation?! FINE!”

“I left because I fell for you Jongdae. I fell in love with my best friend and yes be disgusted by me, but I can’t hold it in anymore it ing hurts, so much! I had to leave Jongdae, I had too but then you found me and everything came back and I’ve never really forgotten about you because I love you so much! Do you know how hard it was for me to turn away and not look back! I love you Kim Jongdae I-I-“ Xiumin falls apart into a fit of sobs, standing there, clenching his fists hard “I love you”

Chen closes the wide gap between him to gather Xiumin into his arms, holding him close “L-let me go. Get a-w-away from me, just go, go back to Lay, and get away!” Xiumin cries, throwing weak punches to Chen’s chest and trying to push him away “Go away, g-go away!” Xiumin cries harder and continues to hit him

“No! I’m not going anywhere! I don’t want Lay, it’s you. It’s always been you. It’s always been you” Chen holds Xiumin tighter as the older looks up at him “W-what do you-

But Xiumin is cut off as Chen places his lips against Xiumin’s. The kiss is sweet, innocent and full of love. Chen pulls away and places another kiss at the top of Xiumin’s head “It’s always been you Minseok. I love you. God how could you leave just because of that? You don’t disgust me; you never could because you make me the happiest person alive. I love you Kim Minseok. I always will”

Xiumin cries harder this time and hugs Chen back, sobbing into his chest

“I-I’m sorry. I was a coward. I’m sorry Jongdae” Xiumin cries

Chen chuckles “You’re not a coward. And I’m sorry too. I’m sorry it took me so long to figure out and once I did, you were gone”

Xiumin chuckles and sniffles “well aren’t we stupid?”

Chen laughs and Xiumin loves the sound of Chen laughing “I guess we are”

“Hey Minnie?”

“Ne?”

“I heard you arguing with Sehun-ah once, about you liking me. You denied it. Why did you deny it to them?” Chen asks curious. His baozi is still in his arms and their still hugging

“I denied it because I don’t like you Jongdae, I love you” Xiumin explains

Chen laughs “You’re so cute. And I love you too”

Xiumin entangles himself away from Chen and smiles that smile Chen fell in love with “Stay here tonight with me Chen?” Xiumin asks cutely

Chen’s heart pounds but smiles back “Of course”

The next day at Uni, Chen and Xiumin arrive together, hand in hand.

The table of friends spot them and cheer loudly “XiuChen!” they all shout at the same time. Chen and Xiumin laugh together, arriving at the table and sitting down

“Finally! Congratulations!” Tao smiles so brightly. “Zitao!” Xiumin jumps on the younger causing him to laugh. Xiumin has missed his friends so bad “Xiumminnie hyung” Tao coos hugging him back. Xiumin pulls away and smiles apologetically to his friends “I’m sorry I was such an . Forgive me?”

Kris chuckles and ruffles his hair “Of course. We could never hate you Minmin”

Sehun laughs “Yeah hyung. We are one remember?”

Xiumin feels so glad to be with his friends again. Chen spots someone walking into the cafeteria and nods at Tao “Tao-ah, you have some things to sort out with Joon hyung ne?”

Tao looks up and spots Lee Joon walking in “Yeah I do. Xiumin we also need to talk after school and Mir hyung wants to see you. I’ll see you guys later, movie night yeah?” Tao smiles and kisses Kris on the cheek before going

The friends watch as Tao approaches Joon. The two shake hands and they walk out of the cafeteria

“The conversation would be civilised right?” Lay asks worriedly

Lu Han scoffs “Of course it would be. Tao needs to sort things out so it’ll be fine”

Kris awws and everyone’s attention is turned away from the door of the cafeteria to aww with Kris at the sight. Chen is feeding Xiumin and Xiumin feeding Chen. The sight is truly adorable

“Hyung you lied to me, when I said you like Chen you said ‘no I don’t like him!” Sehun says accusingly to his hyung

Xiumin laughs “I didn’t lie. I don’t like him, I love him”

And again, the table is awing at the cuteness of the XiuChen couple.

“Joon hyung!”

Lee Joon turns around to see Xiumin walking towards “Hey Minnie” Joon says smiling. Xiumin sits beside him on the bench

“Tao told me he’ll explain to you what happened. Did he?” Joon asks turning away and watching the clouds in the sky

“Yeah he did” Xiumin confirms

“I’m disgusting aren’t I” Joon chuckles darkly and looks down at his shoes, ruffling his hair in frustration

“You aren’t hyung. But you’re a coward. You know I met Mir today”

Lee Joon blinks and looks up at Xiumin “Y-you did? His here? I thought he was in the States?” Joon asks nervously

“Yes I did and no his here. You should fix things hyung” Xiumin says smiling

“You said I was a coward-

“And you are, but I am too, or was. We both left and didn’t look back, one mistake. I fixed that and now It’s your turn too” Xiumin encourages his hyung

“I don’t know, he probably doesn’t want to see me” he feels so deflated right now

“You’re wrong Joon. Sort things out with Mir, he needs you and you need him. Regardless of what’s happened in the past, you guys need to work things out to make a brighter future” Xiumin sighs and stands up stretching

“Think about it Joon” Xiumin turns to leave

“You were right you know” Joon says

Turning around Xiumin asks “About what?”

“That when I looked at you, I saw Mir. When I see you looking after Tao and caring for him, I saw Mir. I’m sorry”

Xiumin smiles gently towards his hyung “its fine. But you need to man up hyung, and fix things” Xiumin pats Joon on the back, gives him one last grin and leaves

Joon smiles gratefully to Xiumin and sighs looking up at the sky

His right. I need to fix things. And I will…

It's the next day. Xiumin waits outside of the movie theatre, playing with the hem of his jacket. Tonight is their first date and Xiumin is hell anxious by now. You can do this, you can do this Minseok. Breathe in and out, in and out, in and out, breath Minseok breath.

Two strong arms are wrapiped tightly around his waist and Xiumin doesn’t have to turn around to know who it is “Jongdae-ah” Xiumin coos leaning into the touch

Chen chuckles “Baby Minnie” Chen places a soft kiss to his cheek

Xiumin giggles and the sight makes Chen’s heart beat rapidly “How is my baby?”

Xiumin turns around to peck Chen’s lips “I’m good. And you?”

“Never been better” Chen whispers, placing another kiss to Xiumin’s lips

“Let’s start our date then?” Xiumin holds a hand out, smiling towards his best friend and boyfriend who gladly takes the hand, squeezing it tight

“Let’s shall”

The roads been tough for the two, but they are now finally together. Of course there are going to be bumps along the way but nothing that the two can’t handle. They’re love will bloom and only become stronger and they will be one. Facing the world together, hand in hand, as one.

A/N: Hello my lovelies, how was the story? I just love XiuChen with a passion! They are completely adorable! I hope you all enjoyed the story like I enjoyed writing it. I know Lee Joon’s story is blank but I promise, I am thinking of working on a sequel to explain Joon’s story with Mir, of course the same people will be in it, just an additional more characters may be added.
