~ Chapter one _ 1st meeting

The trinklets on her ankle chimed as she ran through the burning kingdom. Her white skarf that wrapped around her bare stomach, her long skirt dragging away, her bare feet painted with the symbol of her kingdom ; a red circle with gold stars surrounding it, smeared. . . 

"Father ! " Mayala screamed running through the doors of her kingdom's holy temple. 
She found. . . blood that slowly led a trail to the dead man who raised her. Mayala choked back on her tears. Her gold earrings that looped back to clip on her hair with little gold bells hanging, firstly touched her father's chest, king of Hang Dong. Then she pressed her face against him. 

"No . . . dad. . . no!" She cried. 

Suddenly, from the corner of Mayala's eye, she saw a shadow. Mayala quickly grabbed her dagger that was binded to her waist and turned around. 

A man in an armor suit looked down at her. He had dirt over his face, blood on his hands, his hair was drenched in pure battle sweat.

" UGH ! " Mayala grunted swinging the knife carelessly at him. 

After just two swings, almost hitting the man, he grabbed a hold of Mayala's arm.

"Let go!" She demanded, " You muderer!" 

"I am not a murderer." The man sternly replied. 

He grabbed Mayala's dagger and threw it across the marble floor of the temple. 

"Huhh . " She quietly gasped. 

"I am Joon. Prince of Ki- Seoung, the most, starting from today, greates kingdom in Korea." 
He looked at Mayala's father who lied 5 feet away from them. 

She madly looked at him. With her other free hand that Prince Joon did not have a hold of, Mayala slapped him. 

Joon was still for a moment as his face tilted the opposite direction from her. He slowly looked at Mayala. She was so dirty. Her hair was ruffled up with pieces of leaves tangled in it. She had dirt and black ashes smeared on her face. Joon could not see her beauty that she truly possessed. 

"They say," he started as he let her arm go, "that you are the most loved, admired, pure and . . ." He looked at her up then down. ". . . finest of all princesses, but for sure, now i know that is completely not quite the fact."

He slowly walked around Mayala observing her. She didn't move. 

Just to torment her, he added : " You are just like these other peasant that are now dead in your kingdom." 

Mayala madly breathed. Tears fell from her eyes. "You will pay for what you have done here. For all the innocent people you have killed, you will pay. " 

As Joon was about to speak, two of his men came in through the temple. 

" Well, now I have to bring you back to my kingdom." He walked passed her as the two soldiers came and held Mayala by both of her arms. 
"Oh and uhm , " he said turning around. " If you ever so think about slapping me again, I will break that little hand of yours. " 

Mayala tried to do the most threatening mean spit she could at Joon, but it landed right in front of her. Both of the soldiers laughed historically as Joon just shook his head and went off first. She sighed, turned her head and took one last look at her father. 

"Enjoy your ride princess. " One of the soldiers said as they put her in to a wooden cage that was supported by 12 other soldiers carrying it . 

She sat in because there was no obvious room to sit up and slowly curled in to a ball as if that made her feel safer.
