If You Gave a Boy Your Heart, He Might Break It

Description

I'll spend forever wondering if you knew I was enchanted to meet you.

Baek Haneul

Haneul is a writer who has yet to be discovered. She is deeply in love with her best friend, Sungyeol, but feels that he can't take anything seriously which is why she doesn't want to be with him. Every moment she spends aching over him is the time she spends writing it down hoping to one day tell him how she feels. When Haneul and Sungyeol were in high school, she decided to write a letter to Sungyeol confessing her feelings, but instead of giving it to him, she put it in a bottle and let it go to the sea in hopes that her feelings would be lost at sea like the bottle.

Lee Sungyeol

Sungyeol is of course never serious as he is always called the choding by his group of friends. He cares deeply for his friend, Haneul, but can't help but think that is all they are: friends. He thinks love is a joke since his parents got divorced when he was younger, but at the same time he can't shake the strong feeling he has for his best friend.

I love you

No matter what language you say it, no matter how much more romantic it sounds... It's all still the same. You could say it in every single language and it'll still mean the same. No matter how different it sounds the meaning of the word is still the same. The only way you can make it mean something true is how you say it. Not by language, but by tone. You must say it in a tone full of lust or passion, not with the tone of force or annoyance. They say love is a joke? Please... Those who say that have never found love to begin with... Yet anyways. I could spend every hour of every waking moment of the day talking about how love makes me weak at the knees or how it makes me stammer amongst my words. Am I someone who craves for love, whining about it if it never comes to me? No. But am I one of those people that wait patiently hoping that it will one day happen to me like it does in those movies or dramas that I spend countless hours watching? Perhaps.

My best friend since preschool, Lee Sungyeol told me before...

"I think love is ridiculous," He told me after we finished watching Stairway to Heaven, one of my all time favorite dramas. During the whole drama, he made fun of every single cliche line that came out of the actors' or actresses' mouth. "Love is over dramatic and needs a reality check."

Is my friend right? I try to forget about those words, but I can't help but think... What if he's right? Should I change my view on love, just because my best friend in the whole world said one tiny opinion? Of course not... But yet, how can I love someone who doesn't view love the same way I do?

Author's Note:

Hey everyone! I'm a new author to AFF, obviously, but I have read a couple stories and I was debating whether to write a story or not, but here I am! I was thinking about writing an Exo story, but everyone writes a lot about Exo, so I decided to write about Infinite. I decided to write about the cute choding Sungyeol, because when I was thinking of this story Sungyeol just came to me. I know a lot of people write about Myungsoo or Woohyun, but I wanted to be a little different and write about a different member. Well, I hope you all enjoy this little intro and comment, subscribe, whatever! Just enjoy!
