Catching the Midnight Train
Description
She was just a country girl.
He was just a city boy.
He came from a tough life, yet he still puts on a smile and sings his heart out.
She came from a rich life full of luxury comforts, yet she does not smile.
One wants to die while the other wants to live.
Both are trapped in the pain of life, which leaves them seeking for a way to escape reality.
And so, when they caught the midnight high-speed train, they found their escape in each other and began their journey towards healing.
Foreword
Just a small town girl, livin' in a lonely world,
She took the midnight train goin' anywhere.
Just a city boy, born and raised in south Detroit,
He took the midnight train goin' anywhere.
Strangers waiting, up and down the boulevard,
Their shadows searching in the night.
Streetlight people, living just to find emotion,
Hiding, somewhere in the night.
I just wanna run to you
And break off the chains and throw them away.
I just want to be so much
And shake off the dust that turned me to rust.
The night is deafening
When the silence is listening
And I'm down on my knees
And I know that something is missing.
Stand me up and maybe I won't be so small.
Free my hands and feet and maybe I won't always fall,
Save me.
When stars are hiding in the clouds,
I don't feel them shining.
When I can't see beyond my doubt,
The silver lining.
When I've almost reached the end,
Like a flood you're rushing in,
Your love is rushing in (your love is rushing in).
You light, light, light up the sky,
You light up the sky to show me that you are with me.
And I, I, I can't deny,
No I can't deny that you are right here with me.
You've opened my eyes
So I can see you all around me.
You light, light, light up the sky,
You light up the sky to show me that you are with me.
Saviour - Lights
