“Hey, wake up.”

She carefully nudged the boy’s shoulder before scrunching her nose in confusion. It was just a normal day in the boundary that is, until she saw him lying lifelessly on the ground. “Maybe he’s dead?” her younger, male companion asked before tugging on her sleeves. “Let’s go before he wakes up!” he said, pulling her wrist with a scared expression. “Of course he’s dead, he wouldn’t be here if he wasn’t,” another voice spoke up, a deeper one that the first. “Shush you two, I think he’s waking up.”

He slowly opened his eyes and felt the texture of the soil beneath his fingertips, confused. He blinked a few times before sitting up straight almost hitting the girl that was kneeling beside him.

“Good morning.” She chirped gleefully at him before standing up straight and brushing off the leaves and dirt that had stained her dress.

He blinked once.

Twice.

Three times.

“W-WHO ARE YOU AND WHERE AM I?! OH MY GOD DID YOU KIDNAP ME?!” he yelled frantically waving his arms and scrambling to his feet, almost tripping in the process. His sudden outburst caused the trio to step back in defense whilst the two male pulled the girl behind them. “Okay, calm down, you’re in the boundary and no we did not kidnap you.” She explained slowly and carefully before asking the boys to let go of her. Taking a few gentle steps towards him, she extended her hand. “I’m Heejin, this is Sunwoo and Chansik, and you are?”

“J-Jinyoung, Jung Jinyoung. What boundary? How did I get here?!”

“Noona, be careful!” the one named Chansik called out to her as she raised her hand to silence him. Sunwoo simply shook his head and folded his arms in front of his chest, eyeing the two carefully. Jinyoung stared at her hand for a moment before shaking it. “Maybe it’s better if we talk about this over a cup of hot chocolate, we were just about to head home you see. You’ll be able to understand how things go around here better if you come with us.” She said calmly before brushing away the random leaves that stuck to his hair causing Chansik to freeze in his spot and Sunwoo to take a few steps closer to the two.

Jinyoung on the other hand was taken aback by the sudden gesture but thought nothing off it. “Well?” she asked, waiting for his response to which he merely nodded. It wasn’t as if he had any other choice. He had woken up in a completely strange place, to a complete stranger with stranger friends and wandering alone didn’t seem like a safe decision at the moment.

“Let’s get going then.”
