“Aish, I shouldn’t have stayed up till 1 am playing that videogame.”

I look at my wristwatch and saw that there are only three minutes left before homeroom starts.

“It’s time to speed up!” I fasten my pace. When I was about to turn right, a girl suddenly appeared.

“Hey, watch out!”

“Huh?”

*thud*

“Owwiee” I fell to my bottom so is the girl whom I crashed to. I look at my wristwatch again. One minute left. I quickly stood up and gathered my things. I saw that the girl is still on her bottom and is in pain.

Should I help her go to the infirmary? But I don’t have much time left.

*Ding Ding Dong*

Aish, the bell!  I quickly ran away.

“I’m very sorry!” I shouted while running. After a few seconds, I finally arrived at the classroom. I opened the door, bowed, then shouted.

“I’m sorry I’m late”

“You’re not late. You’re just in time” said my homeroom teacher.

“I am?”

“Yes so go to your seat already. Class, bring out your assignments.” I went to my seat and search for my homework

That’s odd. I’m sure I brought it

“Soo, is there something wrong?” My friend Sunye asked.

“I can’t find my homework”

“Are you sure you brought it you?”

“I’m one hundred percent sure, Sunye”

I keep on rummaging inside my bag and on the things in my desk but I still can’t find it. Out of nowhere, my notebook appeared in front of me. I looked up and saw the girl from earlier.

“You left it in the hallway” She said.

“Tha – thank you” She smiled then went back to her seat. I looked at my notebook then back to her.

“I didn’t know that there is a beautiful girl here in our class”

“Are you talking about me?”

“No not you Sunye, Her, the girl that gave back my notebook.”

 “Oh, Lee Sunny?”

“Lee Sunny? That’s her name?”

“Uhuh. She’s here since the start of the school year. Didn’t you notice her?”

“Apparently not. So, do you know anything about her?”

“Nope, I don’t know anything about her except for the fact that there is a rumor spreading about her”

“Rumor? What rumor?”

“They say that she is a – “

“Ms. Choi and Ms. Min please stop chitchatting and pay attention to my lecture”

“Yes ma’am”

We said in unison. I glanced at Sunny’s direction and saw her smiling and looking at me so I smiled back to her.

*Ding Ding Dong*

“Food!” At the sound of the bell, I immediately went out and ran to the cafeteria.

“Hey Soo, wait for – “

“Just meet me at our usual table”

After a minute, I arrived at the school’s cafeteria. I went to the cashier and ordered.

“I want this and this and this…hmmm, and also that. Here’s the money” I said with enthusiasm before flashing the ahjumma my dorky grin.

“You really like to eat, don’t you Sooyoung?” She said while giving my change.

“I don’t like it. I love it”

“Just make sure you finish this all, alright?”

“Ahjumma, you know me. I always finish what I ordered.”

“I know, I know. I just want to remind you” She said while giving me my tray of foods.

“Thank you” I accepted it then I went our usual table. “Ok, it’s time to eat” I started eating. Not too long, Sunye joined me.

“Eat slowly will you Soo? You’re going to choke at that pace”

“But I cawnt helpsh it. Thisz iz zo delishous”

“What?” I gulped down glass water and swallow my food.

“I said I can’t help it because this is so delicious”

“Soo, there are no food in this planet that is not delicious to you”

“That’s because I’m in love with food. Oh yeah, let’s finish our conversation earlier”

“Earlier?”

“About her”

“Her?”

“Lee Sunny”

“Oh her?” I nodded “At what part did I stopped?”

“The rumor part”

“Ah that’s right. I remember now. Just like what I said earlier there is a rumor about her that is spreading here around the campus.”

“What rumor?”

“They say that she swings that way” She pointed her finger to her left.

“That way?” I copied her action.

“Yes, she swings that way and not on the right way” She then pointed her finger to the right.

“And not on the right way?” I copied her again. “I don’t get it”

“Gosh Soo, She likes girls!”

“Mwo?!”

“Shh!” She covered my mouth with her hand.

“Grrbhaehhrrgf?”

“Huh?”

“Grrrfffbbffr!” I pointed at her hand that is covering my mouth.

“Oh, Sorry” She removed her hand.

“Are you trying to kill me? Anyways, is it confirmed?”

“Soo, I said it was a rumor so it means it’s still not yet confirmed but if I were you, don’t get acquainted to her”

“I…I…” I saw her walking not far from us with her pack of lunch.

Is she eating alone?

Sunye noticed that I was staring at something so she turned her head to the direction I was staring at.

“She always eat alone”

“Are you a psychic or something similar Sunye?”

“It’s written all over your face that you’re curious if she’s going to eat alone”

“Oh, is that so?”

“Yes. Anyways let’s stop this and finish eating ok?”

“Alright”

I walked towards my home while Sunye went to the other way. I started thinking about today's events.

How can I ignore such a kind and sweet-looking girl? And the rumor, I wonder if that's true

*Sigh*

Alright, I've decided. I will approach and befriend her.
