Chapter 11

Timeless In Life
Chapter 11

Timeline: 16th of September 2012

"Finally! Arrived at Sweden. Wonder what's there to eat," a black-haired fifteen-year-old boy said.

"All you think is food and food and food, huh?" A taller boy ruffled the younger one's hair, making the other glared at him.

"I spent a lot of time on this hair!" He pounced on the blonde so that he could take revenge on him. Revenge is sweet. He made sure that the blonde's hair was super messy before letting go.

"Stop! Stop! Fine, you win, you terrible kid!" He growled, trying to comb his hair back madly into its original state with his fingers. Of course, it was futile and his hair stood out in every possible direction.

"Once I get my hands on you..." He left the threat unfinished before tickling the shorter boy into submission.

"Okay. Okay. I'm sorry! Geez... Old man." The elder boy's eyes narrowed.

"Who are you calling old man? I'm only four years older than you in this timeline."

Lay chuckled as he watched both of them attacking and insulting each other. He had no intention of stopping their matches against the other. It was so funny to watch them fight like cats and dogs. Not only that, he wanted both of them to get closer. So in this way, they could form a bond between each other though the bond would be more on the aggressive side but still, friendly.

A cold wind caressed his cheek and he shuddered, not liking the ominous feeling embedded in him. His heart felt discomfort as if someone was tailing behind them. Not someone normal but someone just like them. A person gifted with special abilities.

Looking around in suspicion, he saw only the citizens shopping and hurrying for their flights. So who was this person following them? Was it just the air-conditioner fooling around with him? Was it just his hallucination?

Before catching up with Tao and Kris, he checked for one last time, his thoughts in disarray and his emotions running haywire. He had better warn them before something regrettable happens.

From behind a book, an auburn-haired boy at the age of seventeen was watching them closely with a smirk. They were on the move again. He easily squeezed through the crowd, following his targets closely, hiding behind corners of the shops when one of them turned back to scan the area.

They would not be able to know he was here. He was highly-trained to be as silent as a mice. When two of the trio decided to answer the nature's call, he leered. This was his chance. They were powerless when there was only one of them and that one of them was the weakest one at that. Oh, lucky. Lady luck was on his side today.

Lay slumped back against the wall, thinking hard. Who was following them? They would not dare to attack them in front of all these innocent people, right? Rubbing his temples, he sighed and wondered the reason the two could not hurry up

Powerless was the sweetest emotion he had tasted. This elder boy fascinated him. He inputted a new emotion into that boy and played a game only the best players are able to play. He crushed his opponents like they were mere ants to him.

Out of the blue, despair filled Lay from nowhere. What is this? Why was he feeling this way? Could it be... The Red Forces? He clutched his heart, his hairs standing on ends. Panicking, he began to sweat profusely.

"Hey, Lay? You looked pale. Are you alright?" Kris asked with concern when he saw him after coming out of the washroom. He touched the shorter boy's cheek but found his hand slapped away. He stared at his friend in shock.

Lay stared back with the same amount of surprise. Why did he do that?

Oh, goody. That boy is in love with the blonde. Shall I play with the blonde too?

Kris' senses heightened as he felt someone trying to push past his closely-guarded heart. Someone was trying to break his barrier. The barrier he had made after so many years. The walls which he built layer by layer after so much of hard work. He fought back wildly and sighted a movement at the corner of his eyes.

He had won. That person looked frustrated and confused. In his confusion, he had accidentally removed the desperate emotion from Lay, leaving Lay to sigh in relief.

Kris smirked in triumph as he approached that boy who was still unaware that he had been found out.

A second before Kris could catch his arm, he realised that one of the trio had noticed him. He fled with all his might but Kris was quicker. With his long limbs, he was only a hair further from the boy. He grabbed the flailing boy's skinny arms and dragged him towards Tao and Lay.

He slammed the boy against the wall mercilessly, his eyes gleaming under the artificial light.

"Who are you? What do you want?" Skinny boy shrunk into himself a little at Kris' frightening angry voice.

"I don't like people I don't know trying to break the concrete walls I have built. I despise intruders such as yourself," Kris spat. If the situation was any better without the involvement of any members of the Red forces, Lay would think that Kris' deep voice was y and mesmerising.

"Hey, some of them are watching. Let's get out of here before they call the security," Tao whispered to Kris, placing a hand on the other's shoulder. The blond grumbled, glaring at the skinny boy, trying to combust him with his eyes. If he were Chanyeol, that boy would be a pile of useless ash by now.

The four departed from the airport as fast as they could without arising any suspicion. Kris shove the intruder into a back alley. The boy whimpered while staring at Kris with pure hatred.

"Now, answer me!"

The boy bit his lower lip until it bled.

"Answer me before my patience runs out. And it will, in a second if you decided to zip your bloody lips," Kris demanded, his foot tapping furiously on the ground. Tao was ready to held his Daddy back if the skinny boy was injured too badly. They needed him to answer their questions. Beating him till death consumes him was not an option.

"I don't answer to you! I only serve my master," the boy snarled. Tao decided to call him Skinny when he was reluctamt to give them at least his name.

"Then, who is your master?" Lay questioned, tilting his head in wonder.

How cute, Kris thought but the thought was gone as quick as it came. Focus, Kris! He mentally slapped himself.

"Obviously, much stronger than you would ever be and much much more powerful. All of you are just trash to him. We, gifted with Special Ability, should have a master and should follow him till the end of the world. Those who disobey must be eliminated from the face of the Earth. I shall kill you. Master would be so proud of me." His eyes had scarily turn a shade darker.

"And how are you going to do that?" Kris asked, one of his eyebrow rising.

The boy smirked but before he could act, Tao had slid out his sword, bringing it to their opponent's neck. Tao sneered back. The boy narrowed his eyes at the dark-haired boy.

"Remove that sword or I'll twist your emotions. Oh, wait. You're just like him. Emotions locked away from my reach. Then, I shall have fun with this one." He stared hard at Lay and started doing who knows what.

Lay gasped. He could not feel anything anymore. No joy. No sadness. No anger. No jealousy. Nothing! It was like something was squeezing his heart dry. He could not even feel the pain from it. It was like, he had become a doll but an alive unfeeling one.

"Lay, get a grip of yourself. Fight him. Don't let him win. He has the Empathy. He may be able to control your feelings but you on the other hand, is the healer. Nothing can harm you!" Kris shook Lay's shoulder while Tao punched Skinny until his face turned blue-black.

"How dare you! You dimwit! How dare you harm my family!" Skinny should be skinned alive for his actions. Tao continued to punch him with all his might.

Realising what was happening, Lay pulled Tao away, bringing his son's head to the crook of his neck.

"Hush, Baby. Do not despair. Your despair is my despair." What Lay was not expecting that his emotions had came back to him naturally again. What had he done? He was sure he had done nothing at all.

"How is t-that possible?! You're weak. You aren't supposed to be able to generate new emotions. I took away all of your feelings!"

"Silence!" Kris bellowed, making the boy cower in fear.

An idea occured to him. He could inflict pain on his opponent. Skinny let all of his pain flow into Lay with an evil smile.

Lay, who could not take the sudden massive flow of pain into his body, collapsed in Tao's arm, gasping to catch his breath.

"You!" Kris pointed his gun at Skinny in less than a second.

"Remove it at once," he ordered.

"Make me." Kris was going to pull the trigger but something about the boy's smile irritated him to the maximum. He was scheming, for sure.

"Go on! Shoot!" Skinny hee-hawed like a madman. "What are you waiting for?"

"I forgot. You don't feel pain anymore. The pain from dying would be transferred to him  if I shoot, am I not wrong?"

"How clever!" Skinny clapped his hands while chortling in all evilness.

"Please, bear with the pain. Fight back. Don't lose to him. No matter what, don't close you eyes. Use your Healing ability," Tao whispered into his Papa's ear. His Papa's eyes fluttered, trying desperately not to succumb into unconsciouness.

Lay gasped. Too much pain everywhere. If only he could sleep in eternity without waking up at all.

Please, Goddess. Take away all of the pain.

All of a sudden,  as if She had answered him, his pain was completely gone. He had successfully overcome the hurtful feelings in his body.

Without hesitating, Kris pulled the trigger and the bullet exploded into Skinny's head. The younger boy howled in pain. "I'm sorry, Master Eden. I have disappointed you! Please forgive me." In less than a minute, his howl died down and his body sagged bloodily against the wall.

"Careless. Careless. Shoot anonymous. Anonymous..."
