To be able to breathe, to be able to hear your heart beating away, to be able to live, is something that I am grateful of. As every minute, every second passed, people are dying, one by one, and that made me learn to appreciate what I have right now. This world isn't a happy place to live in, it's no Paradise, Neverland, or Heaven. I thought the people in dramas and stories were foolish, because they risked their life for something so stupid and deadly...... They risked their life for love. I have never experienced love and I wished I would never get to. Because love changes people, for better and for worse. Love make you blind, vulnerable, and helpless. In this world, I can only trust what my heart tells me to do, I can only listen to the voice of my heart.
But what if someday I become one of those blind and vulnerable people that I hope I would never become? What if I risked my life for love?
Nam Sojeong (You) had learned not to trust and love anyone in this corrupt society. The only one she could trust is her brother, Nam Woohyun whom would do anything to keep Sojeong safe and happy, even if it means for him to risk his own life or take away other people's lives. Sojeong was taught to value her life more than anything else in this world and she did not wish to throw her life away so easily..... until she met someone else who could possibly change her way of thinking and put her life in danger.
I flip through the channels on the television mindlessly, nothing on there was "news" for me at all. A family murdered in a small suburb home. The father and the mother, including the 5 month old baby, were all murdered. Police found no clue of whom may the murder be, this case shall be further investigated. I felt sympathetic for the family, especially the 5 month old baby, who didn't get a chance to live. But if today, that 5 month old baby lived, there is a big possibility that he will come back and hurt my one and only family member, whom I do not want to loose at all. Suddenly I had no sympathy for that 5 month old baby and the loss of his life.
Because of a reason.
Because in this corrupt society, money is everything.
Because in this corrupt society, there's no such thing as police and detectives that will enforce the law and bring justice back. The jail and court room remained untouched for quite a period of time.
Because in this corrupt society, it's okay to murder innocent people and take their lives away.
Because in this corrupt society, half of the population work as assassins, they are all hired by cold blooded people.
And my brother, Nam Woohyun, is one of the population whose job is an assassin. The family that were murdered I just saw on television, was the work of my brother, someone who cares and protects me the best he can no matter what. He is only person on this earth that I am 100% sure that he won't betray me and I can truely trust him. And the lives he just took away, were now used to pay for the water and electricity bills, our food, and other necessities. I couldn't tell how he felt towards doing this kind of job, murdering people and then receive money for it. But there's only one reason why he is doing this.
Because he wants me to be safe, healthy, and most importantly, alive.
