‘The worst day of my life! Ughh’

Nothing was going right that day. Not only did he get scolded by his boss, had his cab stolen after waiting in the street for half an hour to catch one, being splashed by a speeding car making his shirt dirty and muddy, but he also had to be kidnapped.

That’s Kyuhyun. He’s not the kind of a guy who would gamble or do anything against the law, or was he any kind of rich. So there was no obvious reason for him getting kidnapped. He was just standing on the sidewalk cursing his damn luck, when a car out of nowhere stood in front of him and a muscular man with a black mask on his head just put a blindfold on his eyes and tied his hands together before putting him in the car’s trunk.

Kyuhyun was taking aback. They took him off guard when the man blinded him and threw him in what he later found out to be the back of a car. Kyuhyun was scared because, in his entire life, he never thought he would get kidnapped. The guy didn't have a lot of money, he was a simple journalist for WK Journal and he didn’t have any family to threaten it with money. He was just an average guy whose life was boring.

“What do you want from me? Help!” After he got his senses back, he started kicking the car's trunk asking for help. But he knew no one would hear him.

“Do you want money? Are you going to kill me?” He kept shouting at his kidnapers but he got no response.

After a few more minutes, Kyuhyun could feel the car stopping and his heart started pounding with fear. He could hear the doors being unlocked then locked before the trunk was open and a hand was tugged on his arm, getting him out of the car.

Kyuhyun turned speechless. Words wouldn’t come out of his mouth as fear took over his brain. He soon was dragged and tossed into what it felt like a room or a house because he heard the sound of keys.

“Yah Hyukjae! What are we doing here?” Kyuhyun heard a voice of another man before the door opened again and his wrist was soon handcuffed into something.

“What the hell? What do you think you’re doing?” Apparently it wasn’t something but someone. The man he heard talking before was being handcuffed to Kyuhyun.

“The door and the windows are locked so you can’t get out. The house is excluded so don’t think of screaming as well. I have your phones, you won’t be needing them for now. We’ll come pick you up tonight” Said the kidnapper making Kyuhyun really confused. The man he was stuck with looked like he knew these guys. ‘What the hell is going on?’

The sound of a car taking off was heard and soon Kyuhyun was left there with a stranger and with a big question mark on his face. He soon took off the blindfold with his free hand and tossed it on the ground.

He took a deep breath before looking at the man he was attached to and as he did, his feet literally jumped backwards. The man was handsome. He had thick eyebrows that were then w knit in confusion and a very well built figure that left Kyuhyun staring in O. The man, whose name was Siwon, finally was out of his shock. He stared at the hand that was handcuffed to his and let his eyes trail its owner.

“Who are you?” Siwon said once his eyes landed on Kyuhyun

“I’m the one who should be asking you that. You seemed to know those guys”

“Yeah I know them, but why are you here?”

Kyuhyun was getting irritated by the questions when he should be the one getting answers

“Are you kidding me? I was kidnapped for no reason, get dragged to this freaking house, then I have to be handcuffed to you”

“You still didn’t tell me who are you”

Kyuhyun was about to lose it. Is this guy dumb or what?

“For god’s sake what did I do to deserve this?” He sighed before adding “Let’s just find a way to get the hell out of here”

He turned around and as he took a couple of steps, he realized that the man was not moving.

“Are you going to just stand there?” Siwon gave him a weird look from head to toe while his hand rested on his chin as if thinking of something.

“Why would they kidnap you?” With that he let his legs follow Kyuhyun who was looking around the house and searching for any kind of exit.

He walked from room to room, trying every single window but apparently they were all locked. He was dragging Siwon from corner to corner while the latter just put his free hand in his pocket and let Kyuhyun lead him to wherever he wanted to go.

“Why aren’t you helping?” Kyuhyun asked when he realized that he was tired and not just because he was going around every inch of the house, but because his hand was doing the dragging since Siwon wasn’t helping.

Siwon crossed his arms over his chest even though he had to pull Kyuhyun’s hand to do that but he didn’t care. “They already said all the windows are locked. So why are you tiring yourself?”

Kyuhyun stared at him in shock before pulling his hand back making Siwon wince at the pain “Could you possibly have something to do with this kidnap thing?”

Siwon stared back at him looking offended “What? Me? Why would I do that?”

“You’re not some kind of psycho who happens to have a crush on me, are you?”

Siwon started laughing obviously amused by that idea “Seriously? Have you seen yourself? Why someone like me *motions at himself* would do all of this because of someone like you *pointing his index at Kyuhyun*”

“Tsk you think you’re that good looking? Ha ha who lied to you?” Kyuhyun snapped mockingly before turning around and dragging Siwon again to the living room.

He sat on one of the couches leaving Siwon no choice but to sit as well, with as much of a distance that the handcuff permitted.

So there they were, each one sitting in a side on the couch with only their hands in the middle. Kyuhyun was thinking of a way to get out of that house while Siwon was thinking of why Hyukjae and Kangin would do this kind of a trick, and most importantly why kidnapping this particular guy?

A certain growling sound cut off their train of thoughts and Kyuhyun hurriedly clasped a hand over his stomach. He actually hadn’t had breakfast that morning because he was late for work, and since it was almost lunch time, he was really hungry.

Siwon chuckled a bit but as he saw the pout on Kyuhyun’s lips his smile soon disappeared as he stared at Kyuhyun’s face. A weird kind of feeling rose into the pit of his stomach and he had a small idea about the reason but he chose to ignore it. He instead stood up and signalled for Kyuhyun to do the same before dragging him to the kitchen.

“Let’s see if there’s something in here” Siwon spoke before starting to search the fridge for something eatable. He didn’t notice how Kyuhyun was kind of impressed by the sudden care as a smile pricked his lips.

“There’s eggs, wanna make an omelette?” Siwon suddenly sneaked his head from the fridge door and asked, making Kyuhyun swallow his smile and nod. However, Siwon didn’t miss the way Kyuhyun’s cheeks flushed and he wanted to ask what was wrong but he again chose not to.

Kyuhyun tried to cover his embarrassment by a fake cough as he turned away and stretched his hand to open the cabinet above his head.

“Is that Ramen?” Siwon closed the fridge and turned to look at where Kyuhyun was pointing at.

“Yes it is. So Ramen eggs it is” Kyuhyun’s face soon lit up at the mention of his favourite snack. He tip toed to get the box but it was kind of put far inside that he needed a little bit of stretching to reach it. However, as he was struggling to get it, he felt his left hand, that was handcuffed with Siwon's, being gently twisted to his back and a figure pressing behind him making his body flinch at the proximity.

Apparently Siwon was watching Kyuhyun's attempt to get the box, which he thought it was amusing, and since he was a little bit taller than him, he easily helped him get it out. He then handed it to Kyuhyun but the latter was so nervous with Siwon breathing on his neck, that he didn’t realize he spaced out until the older cleared his throat bringing him to reality, as he took the box that was handed to him and quickly detached himself from Siwon.

…

So after they both helped in making the meal, they put it in two bowls before heading back to the couch. Kyuhyun, being starved, he held the bowl with his left and attached hand, bringing it closer to his face while he held the chopsticks in his right hand, and started stuffing his mouth.

It wasn’t until he heard Siwon giggling that he noticed what he was doing. Kyuhyun forgot about Siwon’s right hand that was attached to his, and so the latter couldn’t really eat with Kyuhyun acting like normal and forgetting the hand that was stuck to his.

“Sorry” As he put the bowl down on his lap and shoved his hand in Siwon’s face to use it.

Siwon amusingly smiled making Kyuhyun’s heart skip a beat when two dimples showed up. The latter swallowed the lump on his throat before averting his eyes and continue eating.

“Thanks” Siwon gladly took the offer and held the chopsticks in his right hand which was attached to Kyuhyun’s, and started eating.

Once they were both done, Kyuhyun launched his back on the couch while patting his now full stomach. He reached for the remote control and the TV. Siwon, who was enjoying the little acts of Kyuhyun, also laid his back down and stared at how Kyuhyun was going from channel to channel while muttering a comment on each show that was on. Boring, unrealistic, too much blood, hell no, gross …

Well until Kyuhyun finally settled down on a cartoon, Pokemon. Kyuhyun didn’t miss Siwon’s eyes that was on him probably thinking ‘really?’ so without turning his gaze from the TV he muttered

“Don’t you dare!”

Siwon just secretly laughed but he couldn’t help but think that Kyuhyun was adorable. Except the fact that his shirt was muddy, his hair was messy but other than that, just adorable.

“I didn’t say anything”

…

So that was pretty much how the afternoon went through. Kyuhyun excitedly watching Pokemon and squealing whenever Pikatchu would say ‘Pika Pika Chuuuu’, leaving Siwon very much smiling at how cute Kyuhyun was acting. Yes Siwon definitely thought that Kyuhyun was childishly cute that he wanted to pinch those chubby cheeks and kiss those pouting lips.

‘Wait what am I saying? Siwon get a hold of yourself! You don’t even know the guy!’

Unfortunately for Siwon, Kyuhyun turned his head just when he was madly shaking his head in order to get rid of those nagging thoughts.

“Are you okay?” Kyuhyun asked startling the older and as Siwon stared at those mysterious brown orbs, he knew that this cannot happen. He sat up straight and reached for the remote to turn off the TV before looking back at Kyuhyun.

“We need to figure this thing out”

“Figure what out?”

“There must be a reason why they locked us here. We just need to think”

“They’re your friends so you know them better than me”

“Ok. So what was the last thing I talked to them about” Siwon was replaying his last conversation with Hyukjae and Kangin before being locked in that house. All he remembered was talking about girls and how Siwon should call a certain someone.

“Where did you say they kidnapped you from?”

“My work at WK journal” Then suddenly, Siwon stood up from the couch and clasped a hand over his mouth.

With the sudden impact of Siwon standing up, Kyuhyun had to be dragged along with him since they were attached to each other.

“Ouch! Can you be shocked with your other hand?” Kyuhyun pushed their hands down and started rubbing his wrist that was hurting.

“I’m sorry. Are you okay?”

“Yeah, what were you so shocked about?”

“Well you see, I kind of lied to them” Siwon said stuttering

“Why do I feel this is going to be bad?”

“The truth is … I’m gay” Well that was the first time Siwon said it out loud. His eyes bulged out when he realized what he just confessed and how easily he said it. He had been postponing the fact that he had to tell his friends about it, afraid of their reaction but right then it just simply escaped his mouth.

Kyuhyun on the other hand was thankful that Siwon averted his gaze to the floor because his face just turned red as his heart skipped a beat. Gay? B-but why is that affecting me?

“So what does that have to do with this?” Kyuhyun asked once he calmed his breath, while pointing at the handcuffs.

“Okay so a few days ago we were at a bar and they kept saying how I can't get girls anymore, so I freaked out because I didn't want them to know i'm gay. I just recently found out about my ual preferences but I was scared to tell them. So they challenged me into talking to a girl that night”

“And?”

“Well I did. I walked up to a girl at the bar and chatted for a while. She gave me her phone number and that was it”

“Still don’t see the point”

“Anyway, that incident only made them pressure me more. They kept asking me why I’m not calling her and asking her out. Last night, they’ve been extracting information from me about where she works and what’s her full name. I should’ve known that they were up to something”

“And yet it doesn’t explain why I’m here”

“Well they might’ve got the wrong person?”

“You mean she also works at the journal?”

“Yeah”

“What’s her name?”

“Lee Ri Chan”

“WHAT?” It was Kyuhyun’s turn to be shocked. He smacked the back of Siwon’s head and angrily cursed at him.

“What was that for?” Siwon rubbed his aching head as he stared at Kyuhyun who unpredictably started laughing.

“Why are you laughing?”

“Lee Ri Chan you said?”

“Aha”

“Black hair, brown eyes, rosy lips?”

“Yes! That’s her”

“That’s my girlfriend you idiot!”

That certainly came as a shock. First there was no expression on Siwon's face as he was just trying to process what Kyuhyun just said, but when he finally got it he was all Oh, oh

“Your girlfriend? B-but how?”

“How she’s my girlfriend? Well we work together and I asked her out” Kyuhyun answered mockingly before slamming his body into the couch, making it his turn to drag Siwon down with him.

They laid there for a few seconds, just analyzing what they just heard.

“So …” Siwon started but didn’t know how to quite finish

“Wait a second. So they were supposed to get Ri Chan, why would they take me? Do I look like a girl?”

Siwon chuckled but hid it with a cough when Kyuhyun glared at him.

“I’m sure it was just a misunderstanding”

“Stupid”

“Who? me?” Siwon asked but as he got another glare, he added “Oh them. Racoon and Monkey”

“Excuse me? Racoon and Monkey?”

“Their nicknames”

Kyuhyun started laughing at the idea of calling people by animal's names because he thought it was just weird.

“What’s so funny? You never had a nickname?”

“Well not an animal nickname! Wait, don’t tell me you have a nickname too?” Siwon blushed a little and quickly turned his face away “Is it a wolf? Because you’re sneaky and you steal other people’s girlfriends?”

“Yah, that’s not it! Besides it’s not like she didn’t do anything” Siwon snapped back but regretted right away.

“What do you mean?”

“Forget it”

“No tell me”

“Well … we kissed”

“You mean, you kissed her”

“And she kissed me back”

“This day is just getting greater and greater” Kyuhyun stated sarcastically and Siwon felt bad about it. It was his fault that Kyuhyun was there so he pretty much caused his bad day not to add he kissed his girlfriend.

Siwon leaned back, staring at Kyuhyun for a while. The latter’s eyes were closed but sighs kept on coming out of his mouth, clearly deep in thoughts. The truth was, strangely, Kyuhyun wasn't that upset about his girlfriend kissing another man, as much as he knew he should be angry and punch the guy. He just didn't think that way. He didn't care that much even though he knew he should've.

“It’s Horse” Kyuhyun slowly opened his eyes and confusedly looked at Siwon “My nickname is a Horse”

Kyuhyun smiled and closed his eyes again, not noticing how Siwon was again staring at him with piercing eyes.

“So when was it exactly?” Kyuhyun unexpectedly said making Siwon clear his throat and avert his gaze.

“When was the night you met her”

“Last week. It was … a Friday night”

“Friday … hmm … where was I Friday” Kyuhyun was tapping his index finger on his chin in thoughts and Siwon couldn’t help but find him adorable, again.

“FRIDAY?” Kyuhyun suddenly sat up “Are you sure it was FRIDAY?”

“Yes I’m sure. Why?” and then he was back slamming his body on the couch while cursing at no one in particular.

“She called me that night late, said that she wants me to come over”

“So?”

“So? You turned her on and I had to satisfy her needs that night”

Siwon couldn’t hold his laugh anymore. He just let it out until his stomach started to hurt. If you look at it, the situation they were in was quite hilarious. So soon enough, Kyuhyun joined him as he started laughing as well. They do say too much worry makes people laugh.

Once they finally stopped laughing, Siwon managed to ask, and strangely there was less distance between them than earlier.

“So, how about your nickname?”

“I don’t have one”

“Well if I were to choose than it would be … a kitten”

“A kitten? Why is that?”

Both resting their heads on the back of the couch, their breaths were already mixing because of the proximity and the back of their cuffed hands were gently rubbing against each other. Whether it was Kyuhyun who kept on bending his fingers to touch Siwon’s hand, or Siwon who kept on rubbing their hands together whenever he got the chance.

“Let’s see” Siwon’s index was slowly tapping his chin, imitating Kyuhyun’s earlier act “Your features are pretty much like a kitten”

“How so?” Kyuhyun whispered

And Siwon’s index started pointing at each thing he said “Your eyelashes are long … Your nose is … cute … Your cheeks are chubby” Kyuhyun pouted at that last one making Siwon’s finger move to point at Kyuhyun’s lips “And your pout is … kitty like”

Kyuhyun kind of chocked when Siwon’s finger landed on his lips and he fought hard the urge to close his eyes. He didn’t know how to explain the beating in his heart, or the dancing in his stomach, but looking at Siwon’s face up that close, he couldn’t help but feel something for the guy. It was definitely the first time Kyuhyun was attracted to another male which made him kind of confused but kind of happy as well.

However, as he watched how Siwon’s face was leaning down, he knew there was something there and he wanted to explore it. He finally let his eyes close when Siwon was breathing against his mouth. His tongue moistened his lips as if he was welcoming Siwon’s kiss.

Soon, silence surrounded them leaving only the sound of their breaths. Siwon’s hand already entwined with Kyuhyun’s at some point, while the other one was comfortably resting on Kyuhyun’s cheek. His heart was beating fast especially when Kyuhyun closed his eyes, waiting to be kissed.

Then just as their lips were about to touch, they suddenly jumped from the couch, each one took a place in the corner just like the beginning of their day. Apparently, Kangin and Hyukjae were back and just at the right moment.

Both Siwon and Kyuhyun blushed and couldn’t look at each other. The others must’ve felt the awkwardness because Hyukjae cleared his throat and broke the silence.

“There’s a call for you” As he handed the phone to Kyuhyun.

“For me?” Kyuhyun asked confused but it only earned him a nod.

...

“Hello?”

> Kyunniiiiiie, so what happened? <

“Hae? Why are you calling here?”

> Come on! You’re smart. Hadn’t figure it out yet? <

“What are you talking about?”

> You know you’re gay. You just needed a little push <

Kyuhyun’s body flinched for a second as he turned his face to glance at Siwon, but he soon remembered that it was a phone call and they wouldn’t hear what Donghae was saying.

He took a deep breath and with a low voice he said “You’re crazy, you know that? So this is all your doing? How can you say that I’m … that I’m … that?”

> Gay you mean? So are you telling me you didn’t feel anything for that guy next to you? <

Kyuhyun turned his face to the side as his gaze met with Siwon’s. The latter’s expression was kind of sad, mixed up with confusion and Kyuhyun couldn’t let a finger on what Siwon was really thinking about.

> Yahoooo, you’re looking at him, aren’t you? <

“You’re gonna pay for this! How the hell do you know this guy here?”

> Who? Hyukkie? <

“Hyukkie?” and Hyukjae raised his hand upon hearing his name "Yeah, him"

> We're going out tonight <

"And when did you meet?"

Kyuhyun stared at Hyukjae while the latter was shyly smiling at him until his gums were showing up, probably because of the nickname.

> This morning when he was looking for your girlfriend <

"So you just told him to kidnap me instead?"

> Well we talked and he told me the whole story and their idea wasn't that good since I know that girl is dating you. So I gave them a better one <

“So they didn’t really mistake me for Ri Chan?”

> What? No! Of course they knew who you are <

“Can someone please explain to me what the hell is happening?” Siwon who was silently sitting in the corner of the couch decided to speak since until then he didn’t exactly get what was all the kidnapping about.

Kangin was the one to explain the situation.

“Well, I’ll explain. Since you my friend didn’t want to admit that you’re gay" Siwon's eyes popped out, but before he could say anything, Kangin continued "Of course, we knew! Anyway, Hyukjae and I thought that if you do go out with that girl, you'll finally have the guts to say it out loud. However, ...”

“When I went to talk to that girl, I met Donghae who happened to have a friend who is like you dating a girl even though he’s obviously into guys, which got us thinking to bring you two together so you would realize that you both are gay!” Hyukjae continued.

“I’m not!” Kyuhyun snapped, but when he sensed two eyes glaring at him from the corner of his eye, which he knew exactly who they belonged to, he averted his gaze to the floor not wanting to show his blushing cheeks.

"Although we didn't know that we were talking about the same girl" Kangin added

“Bye Hae”

> What? Wait <

Beep Beep

“Can I have my phone back now?” Without lifting his head from the floor, Kyuhyun asked as he handed Hyukjae his phone.

Kangin handed him and Siwon their phones, and Kyuhyun immediately called for a cab even though he had to pass the phone back to Kangin so he can tell the driver the house address.

Siwon on the other hand was quite shocked. Not because this was a scheme to prove him gay because heck he knew he was, he just was afraid to tell his friends, but because the man who he was attracted to, who he thought was adorable and cute, who his heart strangely beat for him, who he almost shared a kiss with, was actually gay as well.

Feeling the awkwardness was back, Kangin motioned for Hyukjae to unlock the handcuffs, and as soon as he did, Kyuhyun took a last look at Siwon who stared back at him, before excusing himself and leaving the house.

“What are you doing? Go talk to him”

Kangin said when he saw how Siwon just let Kyuhyun leave and Siwon just glanced at him for a minute before registering those words and realizing that it couldn’t just end there, so he rushed after him. When he stepped outside the house, Kyuhyun was leaning on one of the walls, rubbing his aching wrist.

“Does it hurt?” Siwon asked making Kyuhyun flinch because he didn’t hear the latter coming out or did he notice him standing in front of him as his mind was somewhere else.

“A little bit”

“Let me see” Siwon held Kyuhyun’s wrist and started massaging it forcing the latter to look down because Siwon’s touch was sending shivers throughout his entire body. However, seconds later, his head lifted on his own probably from the shock as Siwon was planting soft kisses along Kyuhyun’s wrist and palm.

“Y-you don’t …” But he couldn’t finish his words. His eyes met Siwon’s and they stared at each other for what it felt like eternity, and since neither one of them was planning to talk, it would’ve lasted long if not for Siwon’s friends sneaking their heads from the door clearly listening to the conversation.

Still holding the younger’s wrist, Siwon took a step to the left, making Hyukjae and Kangin disappear inside the house again, then he closed the door before facing Kyuhyun again.

“Listen, can I see you again? I mean I know you have a girlfriend…”

“Well we’ve been dating for two months now”

“Yeah that’s a long time”

“But she did cheat on me, so”

“Well she’ll probably apologise, besides it was just a kiss”

"And maybe my friend is right about me being gay"

"Maybe"

“Do you want to see me again or not?”

“Y-yes! Yes! of course I do"

“Then you must be an idiot. I’m giving you reasons for me to break up with my girlfriend and yet you’re defending her. Can’t you fig-…”

His sentence was interrupted by Siwon’s lips landing on his, kissing him slowly yet passionately. Kyuhyun’s hands travelled to wrap around Siwon’s neck, running his fingers through the short black hair, while the latter embraced Kyuhyun’s waist with one hand and let the other one Kyuhyun’s cheek.

After a few seconds of just gently nibbling on each other’s lips, Siwon couldn’t hold back anymore as his thumb parted Kyuhyun’s mouth to make way for his tongue to slip in, letting it roam the unfamiliar yet hot cavern of Kyuhyun’s mouth.

Once they had to break the kiss, they both stood there smiling. They had never kissed another guy before. They technically never liked a guy before so they were each others first. However, it felt unexpectedly good.

Unfortunately, the next cab’s horn broke their moment and it was time for Kyuhyun to leave. He sadly stared at Siwon before tugging his hand into the latter’s pocket and pulling out his phone. He typed his phone number which made him realize that they didn’t know each other’s name yet.

“It’s Kyuhyun by the way, Cho Kyuhyun”

“Siwon, Choi Siwon”

“Nice to meet you Horse”

“Nice to meet you too Kitten”

They smiled again, eyes not leaving each other but they knew they have to part ... for now.

“I have to go”

“I’ll call you”

Kyuhyun pecked Siwon's lips before he nodded and walked past him, heading to the cab. But as he opened the door and before he stepped in, he turned around and said,

“You should treat your friends to something expensive”

Siwon smiled before nodding, and even when the cab drove off, his mind was already filled with recent memories that he wanted to appreciate for a little longer before having to deal with his friends.

...

In the cab, Kyuhyun was also smiling at himself like an idiot. His friend was right, he hadn’t really liked girls. He just forced himself into believing that he liked Ri Chan. However, after meeting Siwon, he was sure that his heart had never beating for anyone like it did for him.

His phone vibrated in his pocket signalling an incoming call from an unknown number.

“Hello?”

> Just wanted to make sure you gave me the right number <

“Gee, no wonder you’re single”

> Well, not for long hopefully <

And then it got silent but strangely not awkward. They were both smiling widely and just enjoying each other’s breaths if that was even possible.

Then after a minute or two, Siwon spoke “I’ll call you again later”

“Ok”

“Bye”

“Bye”

...

Siwon standing on the house porch smiling at himself, thinking about how he, impatiently, would wait to plant another kiss on Kyuhyun’s lips again.

Kyuhyun, resting his head against the window, staring at how the sun was starting to set while smiling at no one and nothing in particular, just thinking …

‘It may not be the worst day after all’
