Divining Land of the Lords: Paradox Angel

Description

We all dream of certain events that could have been different if “this” or “that” happened. We all have dreams where we create a paradox for ourselves, for comfort. Sometimes, it can be incredibly frustrating as you may wish for the dream to have happened rather than the disastrous event that truly did.

However, what if you were suddenly trapped in different paradoxes, one after another, unable to escape and having to live a life of “What if’s”?

That is what Sun Chaeri has to constantly put up with. Though she doesn’t know it, her life is one paradox after another, shifting from one parallel universe to the next without the knowledge of it actually happening. And every single time she realises the world she is occupying isn’t her world, she instantly shifts to another parallel universe and she loses her memory of it ever occurring. She has no control over this odd force and there is no telling where she'll end up next.

What is the cause of all this shifting and travelling? It is believed that those with holes and broken points in their timelines may create their own paradoxes or can travel to parallel universes without damaging a single point in time. But is that really all it takes to travel through different paradoxes?

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the story of the Paradox Angel and the Divining Land of the Lords.

I decided to do something a little different from the rest of my stories. I decided to start up a small series ^ ^ This is the first of my series called Paradox Angel, the one you're reading now~ I really hope you all like this story. I've been debating on whether to upload it or not but here it finally is!

Also, I want to say a huge thank you to :: EXOTIC GROUNDS :: Poster and Review Shop [OPEN | HIRING TRAILER MAKERS] for making that beautiful poster up there. Unfortunately they are no longer open but I am extremely thankful for making my poster and background.

Remember not to plagiarize my stories. This story is purely from me and some theories that may crop up in this series are from both me and some theories, I read in school.

A quick note, this story is NOT rated, however some chapters may pop up as rated even though they aren't. It has become out of my control to set them as not rated.

Foreword

I could hear a slow heartbeat as I gradually opened my eyes. I felt like I had been sleeping for years, my joints felt incredibly stiff and hard to move. With one giant heave, I managed to lift myself up and sit in an upright position. I took my time in looking around the dull yet intriguing room.

Empty. The whole room I was occupying was completely empty. There were beds but no people and windows but no doors. I was trapped in this strange room along with the presence of the heartbeat. The pulsating vibrations travelled across the room and I started to feel dizzy and slightly nauseated.

A sudden chill caused myself to grab a nearby blanket a pulled it over my shoulders as I frantically looked around to find the source of the heartbeat.  I felt like I was in some sort of horror movie and I was waiting for something to pop up. I desperately hoped for something to pop up and either scare or kill me because then I would have a logical reason for actually being here. Unfortunately, it wasn’t one of those time when everything made sense, in fact, it went beyond logic as I was about to find out.

I propped myself up off the bed and landing my feet firmly on the floor. As I slowly let go of the safety and security of the bedside, my legs started shaking and giving way. Whilst trying heavily on doing the simple task of standing still, a pang of pain suddenly rushed to my stomach. I looked down at my stomach; blood stains appeared, strongly contrasting against my white shirt. From the hard hitting rush of pain I instantly lost my balance. My legs wouldn’t do what I told them to and my arms wouldn’t let me soften my fall onto to ice cold floor. My eyelids then began to feel heavy. Heavier and heavier they went as I did my best to stay awake but I no longer had control. I just wishfully hoped that I would get out of this room and back where I belonged but the thing was...where did I actually belong?

With that last thought, my consciousness fell into a deep sleep, not knowing when and where I would wake up next...
