While watching the lovely couples skating on ice, something caught her eyes. A good looking guy who’s working part-time as a trainer for

the kids learning how to skate. Actually it’s not the guy what caught her attention but the idea that she can finally learn how to skate

already.

The next day up to the following next days. She kept on watching him while taking down notes. “Why don’t you get your skating down

there instead of writing with your sitting here?” Bomi, her bestfriend, suggested but Eunji just shook her head. “It would be

embarrassing. I’m already 18 not 8.” “So what? Some have it worst like learning how to use the chopsticks by 20. Can’t believe that

person is even a Korean.” “It’s because that person grew up in a foreign country, Bomi.” “Is that so?” she blinked and Eunji facepalmed.

But deep inside, the dreamer felt that she might as well try.  “It wouldn’t hurt, right?” “Hmm.. it will. When you fell down.” Eunji

shot her friend a glare. “Thank you.” “You are very welcome.” Bomi smiled and left somewhere to buy some food.

After a week, Eunji cheered herself up before applying for the tutoring. As she received her skating shoes, she looks for a seat and tried

to tie it on which seems to be very complicated and leads to a failure. In a minute, a figure crouches right in front of her. “Let me.” His

stern voice appears to be angelic, and his pretty hands while tying her lace seems to be so delicate. He finished in a second like a

professional. “Jung Eunji-ssi?” he looked at her. The girl gaped at his enchanting face and nodded slowly, not being able to talk. He smiled

which made his eyes invisible. “It’s my first time to accompany someone big like you.” She snapped back into reality and the guy

automatically earned a glare. “Yah.” He held his two hands in the air. “Calm down, Eunji-ssi. You’re cold as the ice.” He chuckled which

seems to be a bell from the heaven. “I want my tutor to be changed.” “There’s no one else better than me here, minding you.” She

rolled her eyes and stood up but quickly lost her balance. Luckily, the guy caught her just in time and chuckled once more. “Let

me, Kim Sunggyu, be at your service.” She blushed as he held her hand and leads her carefully to the rink.

“First thing first. The basics.” Sunggyu announced while Eunji attentively listening. “Spread your feet.” He pointed at her feet and she

slowly drifting her feet apart from each other while trembling a little. “L-Like this?” He nodded. “Now, start marching carefully towards

me.” “Towards you?” at the time she looked at him, he lets go of her hand and glided in front of her.  “Yes. Towards me.” “B-B-B-B-But-“

“You can do it. Trust me and more on yourself.” His assuring smile gave her the determination. She looked down to her feet, breathed

in and out and gulped before starting marching carefully. “Left. Right. Left. Right.” While approaching carefully towards his way, she

didn’t noticed that Sunggyu was at the same time, backing away. Making the distance keeps on getting farther than it used to be.  “Left.

Right. L-Lef-“ She lost her balance and falls on her . “OWW!” He immediately glided closer. “It hurts~~~” she whined. “It’s part

of the training. Now, let’s learn how to get up.” “This is part of the training?” she looks and asks in disbelief. “Yes ma’am. Now, kneel

down and let your one feet to touch the ice first then followed by the other. Make sure to stand by the way you are doing a while

ago.” She does what has been told and successfully stood up. Still, a warm hand clasped to hers. “Next time, bring some gloves.

You’re freezing!” he exaggerated his expression that made both of them laughed. “Yes, Sir Kim Sunggyu-ssi.” She saluted and they

skated through the whole rink with Sunggyu taking the lead. “Next time, after I learn everything, I will challenge you to a relay.” Eunji

pointed at him and he crossed his arms then winked. “Challenge Accepted.”

Days have passed with them hanging out in or even out of the skating rink. They usually eat around on the cafés located near the place for

some break. Without knowing that their hearts are near at colliding. 

It’s the last day of lesson. Eunji wouldn’t let the day pass with nothing special prepared. Thus, she kept something inside of her bag; a

pack of her own cooked cookies. Spending her whole week practicing the right baking to come up with a perfect and delicious one. She

happily skipping through the streets as she reached the training grounds and looked for him. Disappointment filled up her face that she

couldn’t find him anywhere. She turned around and meet someone whose age seems to be not that far from hers. “You are Eunji-ssi,

right?” He asked and smiled but doesn’t send any butterflies on her stomach. “Yeah… umm.. do you happened to know where Su-“

“I will be your tutor for your last day, Miss.” “HUH?” her eyes widened with left ajar. He chuckled at the cute expression

and said once again. “But… But.. But where is Kim Sunggyu-ssi?” panic starts to build up her whole body with the emotions mixing up.

“Ahhh.. about Sunggyu-ssi.. you do know that he only works part-time, right? Well.. his work for us have finished yesterday.” “………Oh.”

You wouldn’t know that something or even someone would mean so much to you until you’ve realized that they are gone.

But how can you possibly lose someone if they aren’t even yours to begin with?

After the session, Eunji sat once again on the place where she usually sits down for taking down notes about skating.  “I thought we’re

going to have a relay after learning everything, Sunggyu-ssi…. You promised.” Water started forming from the corner of her eyes. “I

don’t know why I felt this way….” A single tear falls from her brown orbs and she started crying silently but painfully.

“I don’t like girls who cry.” A voice boomed out from the speakers. She got startled and noticed the rink, being spotless white. “You

know, you are more beautiful when you smile.”  Is it me? She blinked and looked around but no one, nothing was at sight. It was

weirdly quiet and that made her nervous. This is not like the Saw movies, right?  “I always notice and I won’t ever forget the first day

I met you, Eunji-ssi.” It’s really me!! Ohmygod I don’t want to die. The owner of the voice chuckled. “You always sit at that place,

taking down notes and sometimes talking with your friend.” She sat down, trying to calm herself and listened. What a complete stalker.

“I was hoping you would actually go down than just sitting there. And it seems like God grant my wishes that it happened magically on

the next day. Every second, every minute, every hour, every moment, I’ve shared with you are such a wonderful blessing. And I

hope we can still continue these memories with each other. Jung Eunji-ssi?” “Y-Yes?” a sudden roar from a machine appeared on the

rink. The vehicle was not actually cleaning but it was sending a message. After a minute, a figure glided towards the center that

made Eunji stood up and clasp her hand to . Will you be my girlfriend?  Sunggyu started singing “Better Man” with his guitar.

And she started tearing up once again. He stopped in his tracks. “Omo. Eunji-ssi. Don’t cry. Did I do something wrong?” She went down

towards the rink and shook her head. She looks straight to his eyes. “You are late. Look what you have down to my cookies!” she pushed

the bag to him and pouted. “Cookies?” he looked through the bag and found the pack. He eats a piece and smiled. “It’s still delicious.”

“Because my love was the main ingredient.” “Oh. How greasy~” Both of them laughed and got trapped to each other’s eyes.

“Saranghae. Jung Eunji.” “Nado, saranghae. Kim Sunggyu. I will be your girlfriend.” “And be my wife in the future.” “Yes, future

husband.” He leaned closer until their noses touched each other but got interrupted by something falling from the sky. They

looked above. “Snow!” she cheered and got excited like a kid. He looks at her and called out. She turned her head and they got their

first kiss under the first snow.
