I came to the orphanage unexpectedly. I was new to the orphanage because my parents died recently in a car accident.

~FlashBack~

    "Mom, I love you! Have a good night sleep." I said as I was getting ready to hang up.

    "Love you too sweetie! You should get some rest cause it's pretty late over there. Thanks for calling us. You can just call Dad tomorrow, ok?"

    "Thanks Mom! Good night!" I said. I turned to my bed and sat there. I was thinking just two more days, and they're finally going to come home.The day that they will arrive will be my birthday! I was really excited to celebrate my birthday with my parents. They can always make me smile the brightest.

     Later that night, Mom and Dad were in their hotel.

    "Hey baby, should we go home a day earlier to suprise EunAe? I think that'll make her really suprised!" Mom said.

    "You know? That's actually not that bad of an idea. I can't wait another day without seeing my baby girl. Let's get packed." Dad said as he was getting their bags together.

    They left the hotel at night driving on the highway. While they were driving down the road, a drunk driver didn't see their car and drove right into their vehicle. Right before their last breath, they whispered.

    "I'm sorry EunAe-ya that we can't make it this year... I love you... and happy birthday..."

    I woke up to see that it was raining outside. That didn't bother me though because soon my parents would be coming home! As soon as I was about to take a shower the phone rang. I thought that it was my parents so I ran to the phone as fast as my legs could carry me.

    "Mom?! Dad?!" I said. I felt like a puppy who was waiting for their owner.

    "Um, excuse me? Is this the Ko residents?" Someone responded. I was confused cause I knew from the bottom of my heart that this voice that was speaking was definitely not my parents.

    "Uh, yeah it is. Uh... do you need something?" I replied quickly as I was getting curious and worried.

    "Is this perhaps EunAe? The daughter of the Ko's? I am a police officer calling to tell some terrible news."

    "YES! THIS IS EUNAE! WHAT HAPPENED?!" I was practically shouting as loud as I could.

    "Yes, your parents have passed away in a car accident. I am terribly sorry that this has happened."

    "......Dead?...." I couldn't believe what I just heard. I was in a state of shock that I could barely speak.

    "Yes, they were driving at night to the airport and a drunk driver hit their vehicle. May I ask for your address so I can contact the government to pick you up, and send you into the orphanage. It's illegal to be living alone in a house at your age."

    "....Ah yes.... um just wait one second...." I responded as I told them my address, and hung up real fast to see myself collapse. I started to bawl throughout the night. I was scared and lonely... Didn't have a clue as to what to do anymore... All I could do was to wait until the government came to pick me up, and put me in a random orphanage. I knew from that night that I would never be the same.
