Recently Sungmin had started becoming close again. In the past they had a habit for drifting apart then coming back together. They hadn’t intended for it to be that way, but considering the nature of their work it was bound to happen. However for Sungmin, one thing that never wavered was his feelings for Sunny. For some reason those around him had noticed his obvious crush on her but unfortunately she was too oblivious to pay any attention.

Even superstars experience that crazy one sided love.

[SNSD dorm]

Yuri: Sunny ah, have you read these comments – she said keeping her eyes on the screen
Sun: Huh? What is it
Yuri: it’s about you and Sungmin – she answered
Sun: What does it say?
Yuri: That you and him should go on we got married together – she said casually. Sunny thought momentarily creating a moment of silence.
Sun: HAHAHAHA!  - she burst out laughing
Yuri: was is that funny?
Sun: Me… and… and Sungmin! – she continued laughing. A few of the other members entered the room looking curiously at Sunny
Tae: What’s so funny?
Sun: Aye, it’s just the fans again
Tae: Why? What did they say?
Yuri: They said Sunny and Sungmin should join we got married – she replied
Tae: Erm… what’s so funny about that? – she asked confused
Sun: oh come on Tae. Me and Sungmin? It would be so weird… him being romantic and what not. I mean it’s Sungmin. It’s would be so…
Tae: So…
Sun: I don’t know… just… the thought of it makes me laugh – she added. She got up and grabbed her cup and made her way to the kitchen. Her laughter could still be heard.
Sun: Me and Sungmin… haha.
Taeyeon and Yuri looked at one another, Taeyeon gave Yuri a i-know-what-you’re-thinking-but-it’s-none-of-our-business look.

[SUJU  dorm]

Kyu: Hyung?
Sung: Ye?
Kyu: Don’t you think you’re being too obvious? – he muttered causing the members to their eyebrows waiting for the following sentence
Sung: what are you talking about – he wondered
Kyu: your feeling for Sunny sshi… - he said innocently
Sung: I… what?
Kyu: the fans have been commenting that lately you and Sunny have been having your little moments.
Sung: They’re just hoping we get together- he denied
Kyu: you think you can lie to us hyung- he answered
Sung: Aigo – he had to think of a way to get out of this questioning ‘ What’s with the sudden question about my love life – he retorted
Kyu: Well I’ve just been noticing how you’ve been making such an effort for Sunny sshi, it’s pretty obvious you have a crush on her hyung – he laughed
Sung: I don’t have a crush on her – he answered looking at the expression on s face saying ‘ please. ‘
Sung: what? I don’t. Honestly I don’t – even he knew he couldn’t fool himself.
Kyu: ok. But the more you deny it, the more it’ll drive you crazy – he scoffed.
Sung: Aish maknae.
 Crush? Me have a crush on Sunny? As if. – He thought

The following week.
The members had been told there was going to be a meeting with production staff about an upcoming special performance.
The SNSD members and SUJU members were all gathered in a room.
Sungmin entered the room and instantly his eyes were drawn to the petite blonde girl in a fitting shirt and shorts showing of her amazing figure.
They greeted one another happily and sat down waiting to be informed.
Staff: So this is just a quick meeting to let you know about an upcoming schedule. You’re all going to be taking part in a special performance with some artists for the SBS idol special. Here is a copy of what will be happening for the show. Take one pass it round.
The members all thoroughly read through what was written on the paper. It had shown who they would be doing the performances with and what type of performance it was.
it turned out that they would be performing special performances with idols from other companies. It turned out that Sunny, Seulong, Seohyun and Jinwoon were going to do a performance together. The members were discussing who they were going to be partnering with but Sungmin looked at the paper and couldn’t help but be jealous, she had known of Seulong and Sunny’s close friendship, and not to mention the fact that Seulong was undeniably handsome and charming, what girl wouldn’t like him. Sungmin was to dance with Sohee, Krsytal and Chansung. He couldn’t notice Sunny’s wide grin while reading the paper he knew she was happy with the pairing. Although he hoped that he would be partnered with her during the performance that Super Junior had with SNSD.

Suddenly he had noticed her walking towards his direction with a smile on his face
Sun: Oppa! – she greeted him brightly
Sung: Sunny ah – he smiled forgetting about his ongoing jealousy
Sun: It seems you have a dance performance – she smiled
Sung: I guess I do, seems you’re happy with the pairing – he said jokingly but he wanted to know how she felt
Sun: of course I am, I can’t wait to sing with Seulong oppa. It’s been too long
no need to look so frigging happy – he moaned to himself
Sung: Well, that’s good to hear.
Sun: I’m sure your performance will be good too oppa – she smiled brightly
Sungmin could never resist that smile of hers. Instead he let out a defeated sigh as she patted him on the back and joined her other members.

[3 days later]
Sunny and a few of the other members were grabbing some lunch with some of the Super Junior members which included Sungmin. The 2 groups were having a lunch break and decided to meet up with one another briefly before going back. They were discussing a few things when Yoona noticed Sunny was on her phone a lot.
Yoona: Aigo, Unnie, are you texting Seulong Oppa again? – she said quietly but was heard by Sungmin, Eunhyuk and Kyuhyun.
Eun: Ooo- he joked
Sunny: Haha, what’s wrong with the 2 of you – she scoffed
Eun: Well you never text me – he teased
Sunny: Aigo… we were just talking about the duet – she smiled keeping her eye on the phone. Sungmin remained silent keeping his eyes on her
*Why does she keep smiling? And does he have to text him now? Doesn’t have anything better to do* - he whined.
Eun: what duet are you all doing anyway?
Sunny: We’re not too sure yet, we have to speak to the PD tomorrow, then we’re going to rehearse. I think we might do a love song
Eun: Sounds cheesy – he teased ‘ I hope we can do a y dance’ – he grinned
Sun: Sounds erted – she retaliated, giving Eunhyuk a playful glare.

As the 2 groups made their way out Sungmin happened to be next to Sunny
Sung: Sunny ah
Sun: Yes, oppa?
Sung: I was wondering if you were free sometime next Tuesday
Sun: Erm, ye, I think so, why’d you ask?
Sung: I was wondering if you could help me buy a gift for my little niece… I mean I’m not good with buying those type of things – he said shyly
Sun: and what’s in it for me? – she teased
Sung: The satisfaction of helping a friend? – he replied cutely
Sun: Hmm… it doesn’t sound like a good deal – she responded
Sung: Free food? – he shrugged
Sun: Well why didn’t you say so – she beamed
Sung: Aish, you really are something – he laughed warmly.


[Tuesday]

Sungmin had a hard time sleeping the night before. He didn’t know why
*Maybe I ate something funny* - he told himself *Aish what’s wrong with you*
Sungmin wasn’t meeting Sunny till 10, but it was only 7 and he was wide awake. Usually when going out to the mall or anywhere simple he would throw on anything but for some reason he had trouble picking out to where. Even his roommate Kyuhyun was awakened by his constant rustling.
Kyu: Hyung, what on Earth are you doing? Go to sleep – he mumbled
Sung: I’m changing
Kyu: But its… - he searched for his phone – ‘ It’s… seriously?! Hyung it’s like 7.30 – he moaned
Sung: And?
Kyu: And? It’s 7.30! – he answered
Sung: Aish, just go back to sleep.
Kyuhyun rubbed his eyes and saw Sungmin’s clothes scattered on his bed
Kyu: Do you need help
Sung: No, I’m fine, go back to sleep
Kyu: Well I’m awake now, and you need help.
Sung: Fine just tell me if what I’m wearing is ok. – Sungmin turned round to show Ktyuhyun what he was wearing

Kyu: Wait, are you meeting Sunny today?

Kyu: Was just curious – but inside Kyuhyun then realised why Sungmin was acting weird and smiled to himself

Kyuhyun shook his head at the sight of his hyung.
Kyu: Erm, hyung?
Sung: Ye?
Kyu: Aren’t you going to tell Sunny about your feelings?
Sung: What? What are you talking about – he asked confused
Kyu: About how much you like her and want to get with her? – he said stating the obvious
Sung: I don’t …
Kyu: The more you deny it the more it will be harder for you. – he said straight forwardly ‘ Don’t be a coward hyung and stop lying to yourself’
Sungmin looked at him, he didn’t need to say anything as he knew his younger member was right.
Sung: Thanks… for the help – he smiled faintly. Go back to sleep – he turned off the lights and headed out.
*why can’t love just be easy?* Kyuhyun thought to himself while getting back into bed.



Sungmin arrived outside Sunny’s dorm, he told her he would pick her up to save her the hassle. He waited for her and when he saw her despite being in a blue jumper and skin tight black jeans and boot heels she still radiated her undeniable beauty. She saw him instantly and smiled

it was a Week Day so the majority of people were either in school or at work. Sungmin and Sunny made their way inside earning looks from the odd people but luckily no one disturbed them.

The 2 were making their way around the mall looking for something special to buy.

Sun: So what things does your niece like?
Sung: Anything pink – he answered
Sun: Just like her uncle then – she stuck her tongue out
Sung: Well of course, everything cool she learns from me
Sun: So you’re the cool uncle?
Sung: Why isn’t it obvious
Sun: So full of yourself – she laughed. ‘ Oo, Oppa let’s go there’ – she pointed grabbing his hands and dragging him quickly.

The 2 were looking at something they thought Sungmin’s niece would like
Sun: Do you know her size
Sung: Ye, I think it’s a size 2
Sun: I think we should get these
Sung: Me too, they’re pretty.

Sun: Aigo… it’s so cute! – she squealed
Sung: It’s not for you remember – he said trying to take it from her
Sun: But it’s so cute… I want one now – she pouted cutely. Sungmin just stared at her like a fool, as if his eyes were forming hearts. No matter how many times she acted cute on TV it was nothing like seeing it in person. He felt like melting right there and then.
Sung: You’re such a big baby
Sun: So are you?!
Sung: Aish, come on let’s go I’m hungry

The 2 walked into an American restaurant T.G.I Fridays and took their place
Sun: Wow, everything looks so yummy on the menu.
Sung: Order whatever you want. I’m sure you’re tired getting dragged around.
After a while the 2 were waiting for their and the conversation was under way

Sung: I just realised it’s white day today
Sun: It is? I guess I’ve not really been paying attention to the dates – he laughed
Sung: I’m sorry I don’t have any chocolates to give you
Sun: Oppa, it’s fine, at least we’re eating together right? – she smiled
Sung: I’m sure there are many people who are dying to spend white day with you – he said sincerely
Sun: I doubt that, I’m such a loner these days – she responded
Sung: Don’t lie you have guys chasing after – he said jokingly but deep inside he was curiosu
Sun: Name me one person – she argued
*ME* - he wanted to answer
Sung: Erm… Seulong – he said sounding half serious
Sun: We’re just friends
Sung: You never know you could be more than that in the future, it all starts as friends – he said trying to pry more things out of her
Sun: ye I guess but it’s not that simple
Sung: And why not?
Sun: This will sound so stupid
Sung: Tell me, I promise I won’t laugh – he smiled warmly
Sun: Aye, well… honestly, I want someone who doesn’t see me as SNSD’s Sunny, but Lee Sunkyu, it’s hard when they expect me to be Sunny from the TV, I mean I think they may not like the real me – she said sadly. Sungmin looked at her endearingly. He wanted nothing more than to reach out for her and tell her she was perfect and any guy would be lucky to have her no matter how cheesy it sounded.
Sun: I sound sad right?
Sung: You sound stupid
Sun: Erm Thanks? – she said confused
Sung: You shouldn’t worry about that, you’ll find someone who will love you for you and not the person they see on TV. – he said sincerely
Sun: Thanks Oppa
Sung: But you obsessive playing with games might drive them away
Sun: YAH! Don’t act like you’re not like that – she answered
Sung: no idea what you’re talking about – he joked.  Just on cue the food arrived.
Sun: Yay! the food is here!
Sung: Dig in

……

Sunny: Oppa, I’m so full!
Sung: me too.
Sun: Thanks for the food
Sung: It’s the least I can do I suppose – he smiled politely.
After paying the bill the 2 left the restaurant
Sung: is there anything else you want to buy? – he was hoping she would say yes so that he didn’t have to take her home yet
Sun: Actually there is, I heard there was a nice cake shop here I wanted to get something for the members
Sung: Well then let’s go
The 2 of them reached the shop which was cutely decorated in celebration of white day.
Sun: Oo, it’s so pretty – she smiled happily
Sung: do you always react like that?
Sun: Like what
Sung: Like. Hehe – he tried imitating her high pitch laugh
Sun: I don’t know what you’re talking about
Sung: Never mind – he smiled to himself following her into the store

They were looking around when a member of staff approached them
Staff: Hi would the both of you like to taste our cupcakes?
Sungmin looked at the girl who gasped when she realised who it was
Staff: You’re and you’re…
Sung: Ye, we are, but we would be grateful if you didn’t say anything – he flashed her his charming smile and nodded like an obedient child. Sunny watched him, it was like he was flirting with her.
*What is he doing* - she thought to herself
she was snapped out of her own thought when Sungmin put a piece of cake in front of her
Sung: Here taste this
Sun: Omo, Oppa…
Sung: Just open your mouth. – She listened to him and accepted the piece of cake he offered and blushed slightly when the staff was looking her at her
Sun: It’s yummy! - Sunny picked out another flavour and went to feed Sungmin who opened his mouth only to have her laugh and divert the cake into
Sung: yah!! Give me! – he moaned and tried to grab the cake from her but she turned around trying to shield it but Sungmin wasn’t giving up so he wrapped both arms around her trying to get the cake
Sun: Oppa! Yah! Stop, the cake will fall
Sung: Then give me – he teased, not realising that there were people in the store
Sun: Ok, here! – she turned around but Sungmin grabbed her wrist and guided it towards his mouth to make sure she was letting him taste
Sung: Mm, you’re right, it is yummy. – he smiled warmly. Without realising the 2 were looking at one another with smiles plastered on their face and Sungmin still had a hold of Sunny’s wrist. It was not often they could hang out together like this, as themselves and not as superstars. Seeing her today
and being with her without having to worry about their image made him happy. Genuinely happy. Her face glowed and her eyes sparkled, she was perfect.
Sun: Oppa.
Sung: Eh?
Sun: Could erm… could you let go of my wrist – she said softly
Sung: Oh, yeah, sorry about that – he coughed trying to get away from the awkwardness
Sunny laughed cutely and looked at the displays.
Staff: Miss what about these couple cup cakes
Sun: Omo, it’s so cute. – she saw the penguin rounded cake one for a boy and one for a girl.

Sung: They’re cute, let’s get them – the staff quickly wrapped it up along with the cakes they bought for their members.

Sung: Hopefully the members will be happy about this
Sun: they should be we bought it for them
Sung: We? Bought it? – he said pointing at the 2 of them
Sun: Ye ye! – she replied walking towards Sungmin’s car.
After arriving at the dorm the 2 said their byes. Sungmin even offering to walk her to the entrance of the building.
Sung: I can carry this upstairs for you if you want – he said politely
Sun: It’s ok oppa, I’m not really carrying much – she said kindly
Sung: Ah ok – he said disappointed
Sun: Thank you anyway – she said trying not to upset him
Sung: thanks for coming with me today
Sun: I didn’t mind oppa, I had a really good time – she said nicely
Sung: you did? –
Sun: of course! – she said beaming with a smile which made Sungmin happy
Sung: Well that’s good…
Sun: I should probably get going – she said trying to kill the awkwardness
Sung: oh, ye… I guess you should.
Sun: take care on your way back
Sung: I will, tell the girls I said hi
Sun: I will, bye oppa – and with that, Sunny made her way in. Sungmin watched the petite figure walk in giving her one final wave
* Coward. Coward. You should’ve just told her. * - Sungmin walked back to his car and sat there momentarily thinking ‘ what if.’
Sung: AISHH!!
 

Sunny came into the dorm with a huge smile on her face.

Soo: Good afternoon to you too
Sun: Afternoon Soo
Soo: So how was your date??
Sun: it was good
Jess: I knew it was a date
Sun: What? I mean, I had a good day, it wasn’t a date. – she became flustered
Yuri: if you say so bunny
Sun: Aigo… just come get your food.
Yoona: Food? Where?
Sun: I missed you too – Yoona grabbed a piece of the cake and bear hugged Sunny
Yoona: thanks unnie! – she said childishly

[Few days later]

After their day out Sungmin had planned on telling Sunny about his true feelings. But when pictures of her and Seulong out on what seemed like a date he felt somewhat hurt. As if he had been led on.
Sungmin was in his room refusing to come out
Leet: I guess he read the papers
Si: I feel sorry for him
Leet: Just leave him be, he’ll get over it
Eun: You think?
Yesung: I’m sure it’s just a crush that he will get over
Kyu: it’s more than just a crush hyung
Leet: I’m sure he’ll talk about it when he’s ready.

[2 days later]
Both groups were at SM practicing for their upcoming performance together. The groups were in the practice room learning the new choreography. Sungmin had been trying to avoid Sunny as he was not ready to speak to him and the SUJU members knew this. They were put in pairs and it just happened that Sungmin and Sunny were put together.
* out of the 9 members it had to be here. Just my luck*
Sun: You’re lucky you’re with me oppa – she joked. Sungmin however just gave her a blank stare and focused the choreographer.
Sunny was having a hard time and Sungmin saw this.
Sun: This choreography is hard
Sung: I guess you need to focus more – he said coldly. Sunny saw the look on his face and knew something wasn’t right
Sun: Oppa? Is something wrong- she said with a serious face
Sung: Nope. Everything is splendid – he said not even looking at her.
*what’s gotten into him* - she thought.
Some of the members noticed that Sungmin was not his usual self
Hyo: Oppa, what’s with Sungmin oppa?
Eun: What do you mean?
Hyo: Don’t act like you don’t know when clearly you do
Eun: I don’t think I should say
Hyo: Oppa just tell me, so we can solve this problem.
Eun: All I know is Sungmin is not happy about something Sunny did.
While everyone was sat down during the break Sunny lay flat on the floor
Sun: I’m so sleepy
Tae: you shouldn’t have been on the phone so late- she laughed
Sun: It wasn’t my fault, Seulong oppa talked to much – she explained. At the mention of his name the SUJU members used the peripheral vision to catch a glimpse of Sungmin’s reaction and it was what they expected, his nose was flaring like he was about to explode at any moment. Before they knew it he got up instantly and made his way out. The members looked at one another thinking of what to do next, unexpectedly they saw a petite blonde figure following him out, Donghae was about to stop her but stopped when the girls told him to let her go. Sunny followed Sungmin to a music room opposite the dance room and shut the door behind her.

Sung: Go away; I don’t want to talk to anyone. – Sunny cautiously took a few steps forward
Sun: Oppa, what’s wrong with you? You’ve been acting so strange lately. – when he realised it was sunny he lost his sense momentarily, the sound of her voice made his anger go away but the thought of Seulong and her made his frustration come rushing back
Sung: I don’t want to talk to you right now – he said sternly
Sun: well I’m not leaving, until I find out what’s wrong, you’ve been acting cold to lately.
Sung: congratulations for being so observant, you’re free to leave – he still had his back towards her.
Sun: You think you will get rid of me that easily. – just then her phone rang
Sun: Seulong Oppa? I can’t talk right now… I’ll have to call you back later. Bye.
Sungmin scoffed when she hung up.
Sung: Why did you hang up on him? You should talk to him I know how important he is to you – he said sarcastically
Sun: You’re important to me too
Sung: But I guess not enough
Sun: What are you talking about
Sung: Do you know how much it hurts when you feel that the person you’ve grown to love doesn’t notice you as you’d want them too
Sun: What are you talking about?
Sung: Ugh! You’re stuck in your own world that you can’t even see something that’s right in front of your very eyes! – He moaned
Sun: Just tell me. – she said taking a step forward
Sung: I… - he took a deep breath before revealing the truth ‘ Sunny, I …’ Just then her phone rang again, this time she didn’t answer instead she quickly rejected the call.
Sung: Just answer it. He wants to talk to you.
Sun: but I’m talking to you
Sung: Look – he said finally turning round to see a worried look on her face ‘you don’t have to be nice and act like you care all the time. I know you’re doing this because you feel you have to. But you don’t, so stop pretending and call him back
Sun: Lee Sungmin – she said formally, which took him by surprise. She was getting angry and her eyes began to tremble ‘How can you even say that to me!? HOW DARE you say those words? Is that what you really think of me? That I’m pretending?! After all these years you take my kindness as some sort of fake act?!
Sung: I… I didn’t…
Sun: I can’t believe that you see me as that sort of person – her voice began to shake as tears were forming ‘ I thought you were my friend, I thought you wouldn’t hurt me’  She could no longer hold her tears but she didn’t want him to see it, and so she quickly ran out much to the surprise of the members who were stood outside the door. When she saw their shocked faces she had no energy to even yell at them instead she grabbed her things and headed home.

When the girls arrived home they saw Sunny asleep on the sofa with tissues around her. They decided to leave her putting a blanket over her before going to sleep.
The next morning was awkward, none of them wanted to ask her about the even that took place with Sungmin. It was quiet and the only sound that was alive was the sound of loud crunching of food and the random breaths.
Yoona: So…
Sunny: Let’s just pretend nothing happened – she said emotionlessly, knowing that Yoona was going to ask
SNSD: Ye… sounds good to me – the girls said instantly not wanting to make her mood any worse.
When Sunny returned to her room Taeyeon looked at her and saw her puffy eyes and messed up hair.
Tae: you look awful
Sun: Thanks, you look great too – she said sarcastically
Tae: when are you going to talk to him? He’s been ringing like crazy
Sun: he insulted me and now you want me to talk to him?
Tae:  I don’t think he meant any of what he said
Sun: Are you defending him?
Tae: Look, I’m not defending him. I’m just saying you should hear him out ok? You’ll be seeing him later so maybe you could talk then.
*If only you weren’t so blind Sunny ah* - she sighed
Sun: Whatever. – she said keeping her head down
Tae: And just for the record. I’m always on your side whether you’re right or wrong. Got that? – she said coolly before making her way out.
