The Dream Chaser

If you ask Chaerin what she loves the most, she would answer you it was ‘dream’. For it is the only place where she can see the light again. Yes, she had been blind since an accident four years ago. The 18 years old girl lost sight of everything the day she woke up from the 12 days of coma. She had to deal with it, although if you ask her honestly, she hadn’t, not the slightest bit, deal with the darkness that was cursed upon her.

Yes, a curse Chaerin would say it was. She was a bright student who loves travelling, in her young age she had travelled to Europe and half of Asia, she loved taking pictures and photography was her love. Now that she couldn’t see, she questioned herself every day, what was the meaning of the pictures she took.

But dreams, the moments she had when lights was still on her visionary system were stored in her memory, and the time she could see them again was when she was sleeping. In her dreams, she would see colors again, of hot scorching summer in a beach in Bali, or the romantic color of Sakura during spring in Japan, or the never ending whiteness she saw once upon a time in Switzerland, and of course her favorite autumn color where the leaves turned bright orange. Only in dreams would she be able to see them again.

Ever since losing her eyesight, she had been bitter about life, for her life was now dark and had no meanings, at all.

Choi Seunghyun didn’t have a dream, he was living in people’s dream, he was the dream. In the age of 27 he was one of the biggest star worldwide, thanks to globalization. Cars, money, women, he had them all. Whatever you dare to dream, he had them all. Life felt bland, he could do just whatever he wanted to do, everything you dare to want he could have it within reach.

Smiling now felt so fake, for he had no more reason to. Freedom as majority of the celebrity would crave for, he had it. Multiple scandals had hit him, but still his fans be loyal to him. He had stated and labeled a bad boy in the industry from the start anyway. It wasn’t anything new when there was bad publicity about him, people would just say ‘ah, it’s him’ and waved it off, continue with their life and he would continue his life as if nothing happened. Because really, nothing it was.

Not being able to differentiate between dreams and reality anymore, as he was living a dream, one day Choi Seunghyun decided to run away once and for all, and he couldn’t be any more thankful he did that, because that was how he finally found a new dream to chase after.
