FINAL

A Special Guest

Being the owner of a large franchise of hotels that stretched from continent to continent wasn't easy. To make the job even harder, the owner was a woman in the prime of her 20s. Young, beautfiul, and confident, she was like the perfect role model for those who wanted to make it big in life before their fifties. Other women envied but also admired her. Men thought she was someone great to have as a stable partner, but most were intimidated that she made over six figures along with the fact that a woman that strong would probably be very outspoken.

To this woman, she couldn't care less of what the others thought. She was satisfied with her booming business she created, and had no time to worry over dating. She had always been very stubborn and straight forward to get what she wanted. These traits definitely aided in the birth of the hotels, but it was also a bit of a step back because the whole time, she was lonely.

Just like every girl, she often fantasized about the perfect guy that would sweep her off her feet. Her prince charming would suddenly pop out of nowhere, and they'd live happily ever after! But previously mentioned, this woman was determined. In high school, she wanted to do her best and get into a great school so she could achieve her dreams. Once getting accepted into Columbia University, she figured now would be alright to date. Despite the few mixers and blind dates she attended, none of the boys had that....spark. The boys failed to give her excitedness, anxiousness, and the thrill of being around them. To her, they were somehow bland. So with that, she didn't date all throughout college, and began plotting out her plan the moment she graduated.

With good connections and friendships she managed to make throughout the years, the woman had managed to open up a small but chic hotel based upon loans from her friends, family, and the bank. She was very sensitive to her customers' needs, while also giving them all a taste of luxury at an affordable price. This lead to her rapid growth and popularity among customers. Two outstanding reviews from critics sent it over the edge, and after that her quiant hotel moved to a large and upscale, modern building in the heart of New York City. This was all accomplished before her 23rd birthday.

Since this woman also loved to travel and  explore different cultures, she had made plans with architects by the time she was 24, to expand over seas. By then she had already paid off all debts and had an extreme surplus of funds. Her second hotel was based in Paris. The response was so great in Europe, that soon her hotels were popping all over the place. After Paris it was London, then the operation transfered into Asia. Bangkok, Tokyo, Taipei, Seoul, and Beijing all had one of her hotels. In fact, her 26th birthday was celebrated on the grand opening of the hotel in Seoul.

Being a woman that constantly traveled the world, she was also very adept in learning new languages. As of now she has mastered English, Chinese (English is her native tongue, while she learned Chinese at a young age seeing that it was her ethnicity), Japanese, Korean, and French. She's debating whether or not to pursue learning Thai, but that isn't of dire need or importance at the moment.

Many of her workers took her as a very serious person. She carried a large burden on her back, which often made her tired and straight to the point. Without knowing her from her younger years, no one would suspect that she was an insanely big K-pop fan. In fact, she's a huge fan of many groups. Her favorites were SNSD, U-KISS, Super Junior, and EXO. In the limited spare time she had, she would check websites of their updates, listen to their songs, and see what was going on in the K-pop world. She very badly wanted to go to a concert, but she was constanly flying back and forth or taking control of a certain hotel, so seeing a concert was out of the question.

Now the owner was currently stationed in Seoul, taking over some business regarding some special guests they would be taking in for two days. She knows that the female workers had heard through the grapevien it would be a male idol group, but the owner herself didn't want to believe it. The last thing she needed was to get excited over something that might not even  be true. Today, she would be recieving a call on who the guests would be, which was also the day of their arrival. The owner was skeptical over the secretive procedure, but the man on the other side of the e-mail explained that he didn't want there to be information leaked out to the media.

So here the powerful business woman sat in her office chair, awaiting the call. She drummed her neatly manicured nails against the glossy wood of her desk. It's been awhile since she's waited on someone else, but she didn't mind. It was a customer after all, and the customer came first. She was beginning to become bored, and was playing with the string of pearls around her neck. Her phone suddenly rang which made her jump. It must be the client.....

"Hello? This is the owner speaking," She answered professionally and leaned back in her chair.

"Ah hello! Thank you for awaiting my call!" The man on the other line spoke with as much graciousness and politeness as she did herself.

"No problem! Now what can I do for you sir?"

"I don't mean to sound demanding, but we will need around four of your best body guards for tonight's arrival."

"Four?" The woman raised an eyebrow, "It can be done. And what will you be needing them for?"

"The guests I have previously mentioned are idols," The man paused. She grinned, this was going to be fun, "So the security levels have to be very high. Our group is large, so the more protection the better, right?" He finished with a chuckle.

"Yes, you're right. Just out of curiousity, which group will be arriving tonight?" The woman could barely contain her interest. When the man revealed who it was, her jaw dropped.

"EXO-M."

Since the owner had privated her call, none of the wokers on the office floor had heard her call. The others were suspicious as to why she was requesting the aid of four, muscular body guards, but did not question the boss's orders. So now she and the body guards, along with the manager, stood outside the glass, sliding doors, waiting for the special guests to arrive.

"M'am?" The manager asked, "who are the special guests, exactly?"

"Idols," She sighed, "so it will definitely be crazy once they step through our doors. We won't have any control over our other guests on what they can or cannot do, so I expect that all of Korea will know EXO-M will be staying here the moment their faces are seen. You have briefed the rest of the staff, correct?"

"Yes, they know to treat them just like regular people. Trying to unveil information from them and or interacting more than necessary is prohibited."

The owner wanted to make sure that her staff- mainly the women- did not bother EXO-M. She wanted the idols to be in an environment where they can move freely about without being pestered. Her hotel would be like a home away from home, but at a classy taste with fabulous furniture.

A dark van rolled up to the curb, and out from the passenger seat, came the manager of EXO-M. Being a fan, she knew who even took care of them, from the moment this man stepped onto the sidewalk. The small man stopped in front of her and with his purse on one arm.

"Hello, nice to meet you," He bowed politely. The owner and manager bowed as well.

"It's an honor for you to choose our hotel," The manager bowed. The two men shook hands.

"I believe I spoke to the owner over the phone awhile ago. Could she not make it out to see us?" EXO-M's manager inquired.

"That would be me," The owner bowed, "I have done as you have asked for," She gestured to the towering giants behind her.

"Omo! You're so young and beautfiul! There's no way you could be the owner of such a prestigeous franchise!"

"You flatter me," She blushed and hid her smile behind one of her hands, "But please, feel free to get out and come right in. You all must be tired."

Just as she said that, the back doors of the van slid open. A long, elegant foot caught her eye. The dress shoe was polished to perfection, and the strings tied neatly on the top. Like any other person, she had her own preferences for the opposite . For her to be keenly interested in a male, for her, the shoes said it all. How the person carried themselves and how tasteful was their fashion sense all contributed to how appealing he was. And by looking at the shoe, she was instantly attracted. She raised her head, but was not surprised. The person with such good taste, was none other than her bias.

Kris, the leader of EXO-M was the first to get out of the van. The rest of his outfit looked to be planned so precisely to enhance his beauty. His slender arms and legs flowed with a suave aura as he approached with his head held high. The owner couldn't help but be stunned in awe. He was just as she had imagined seeing in real life. It wasn't a let down at all.

The rest of the band members lined up beside him, one by one. They each intorduced themselves and did the group greeting, but her eyes were only for ones person. Actually, it was hard for the owner to even give attention to anyone else. When Kris's eyes made contact with hers, she felt the world stop moving, and it was as if they were the only two people....well to her at least.

Since the fans and paparazzi had yet to discover where EXO-M was staying, there wasn't anyone to protect them from. The bell hops, however, came rushing outside to take in the large amount of luggage. The idols and their manager walked in close with the hotel manager and the owner.

"Here are your keys for the next two days," The owner pulled from her pocket, four lamenated room keys in paper slots, "The room numbers are printed on the back of the pieces of paper. Manager Choi," She gestured to the hotel manager, "Will be at your serivce until your leave. The elevators are two the left of the hallway in front of us, "And please do not hesitate to ask about anything."

"Ok. Thank you so much," EXO-M's manager took the keys from her hands, and lead the caravan to the hallway.

As the group of male idols passed, the owner couldn't help but look after them. Her eyes mainly lingered towards Kris. Even his walk was unique, confident, and proud. It was so......appealing. It  was if he could hear her thoughts. Kris's head turned to the side, and she could tell he was looking at her out of the corner of his eye. She continued to shamelessly stare at him, which caused him to smirk. She blushed and fidgeted her feet. Those actions made her snap back and scoff at herself. Even though she's met many handsome men over the years, he was the first to make her act and feel like a school girl falling in love for the first time.

He was affecting her too much. After EXO-M checked into her hotel, the owner basically translated back into her K-pop loving self. She found herself reading gossipy, celebrity oriented magazines It had been a long time since she had caught up on her K-pop. The thing is, whatever she looked up, had to be about Kris. Anything that wasn't of Kris dulled in comparison. Since she couldn't  attend the shows he and the rest of the group appeared on, she watched them on the TV in her office as her workers thought she was "having a meeting with the Beijing group".

It was getting close to dusk. The variety show EXO-M had been on just ended. She clicked the TV off on the wireless remote, and the TV flashed off to black. Now, it was time to get back to business. The owner had just taken out a fountain pen and began scribbling in her to-do journal when the was a knock on her door. She paused and set her pen down.

"Come in!" The owner invited, straightening out her blazer. She stay seated. Kris entered the office, and a pang of nervousness trembled inside her. Why was he here? Was there something wrong? The accomodations must not be up to his standards. Guilty thoughts spotted her mind. The last thing she needed was to get a bad review.

"Ah, what can I do for you?" The owner lead forward on her desk with her hands clasped in front of her. Kris approached the desk in that casual, yet model-like walk. Was it possible to look like a million bucks without even trying? He may have been wearing an opened plaid shirt, paired with a white tanktop underneath and dark wash jeans, but to her he was goregeous!

"I've come to deliver you this," He held out a white piece of paper, "It's from manager hyung."

"Thank you for coming all the way up here." The owner took hold of the paper with two hands, and set it in front of her. For some reason, Kris did not leave. The owner's brows crumpled together in confusion.

"Is there anything else I can do for you...?" Her voice trailed off.

"Ah no, " Kris seemed to notice he was sticking around unecessarily, "Sorry."

"It's alright," The owner flashed a smile. Kris bowed slightly, and his heel to leave. She watched his retreating, lanky form with a sense of longing. Her bias was so close to her, and yet she had to be professional. Kris halted and faced the owner again.

"How old are you?" He asked out of the blue. The owner blinked twice before answering:

"26. Why?"

"It was just out of curiousity. You seem so young."

"Have.....have you ever dated before?" Kris slipped his hands into his pockets and awaited her reply.

"W-w-hy would you want to know that?" She stuttered. The business woman scrambled clumsily for her stress ball, but knocked over her cup of pens. They scattered everywhere, on the desk and plopping on the floor. Kris strutted over and got on the floor to help pick up the rolling writing utensils. She did not make eye contact with him as he placed the pens gathered in his hands, back into the cup.

"You still haven't answered my question," Kris pointed out. He remained close to her. The only thing separating them was that 22 inch wide desk.

"Don't you think that information is a little personal to reveal to a complete stranger?" The owner pretended to be busy with the unimportant papers on her desk. Well in front of Kris, everything else was unimportant.

"You said don't hesitate to ask anything," Kris reminded her. She was immediately eating her words.

"No. I haven't. Why would you like to know that?" She struck up the courage to face him. His gaze captured her attention. She was caught in an endless, hypnotic sea of dark eyes. So mysterious and sultry.... Those full, dark pink lips broke into a smile, revealing pearly whites.

"No particular reason." He then left without a word.

Word had gotten out at which hotel EXO-M would be staying at just hours after EXO-M had checked in. There were fans waiting for the group to come back after finishing up with their daily activities. And when the girls saw their oppas pull up in their signature vans, all hell broke loose. A few hours passed and it was time for the boys to leave the hotel once again for a concert. The owner clicked around in the marble floored lobby anxiously. Girls were crowding the front entrance of the hotel like a never ending sea of phermones. There was no way in, or out. Most of the other customers were quite annoyed with the massive fan mob, so the owner took it in her own hands, to placate them and give them ways to leave the hotel safely in and out without too much hassle.

The owner paced back and forth in her expensive prada heels, biting on the nail of her thumb. Today was a stressful day, and getting EXO-M out of the hotel would be the only way to relive most of the stress. As much as she hated to think that way, it was true. Without EXO-M at her hotel, these two days of pulling out hair and frantically running around could have been avoided. Loud, deep, voices echoed from the hallway near the elevators. Thw owner whipped her head in that direction to see EXO-M, the men of the hour. Apparently, so did the fans and the chattering turned into screaming. The screams made the owner jump, and she rushed over to them.

"We have to move quickly to the back door," The owner whispered to the manager, "The vans are waiting, running and ready to go. None of the fans know the cars are there, so escaping on the opposite side should be easy."

"Ok, thank you," The manager grabbed Luhan and Xiumin's arms and dragged them hastily diagonally across the elevators, to where the back entrance would be. Tao, Chen, and Lay scurried along, but Kris stayed behind. Her attention was now all on Kris. She hadn't even taken a glance at first, but now she saw he was in his concert get up. His hair was also gelled up and combed so artisy that it should have had it's own twitter page. She liked the way his eyes were lined gracefully with kohl liner. It added to the seductiveness of his eyes.

"You shouldn't make that face," Kris pressed two of his long and elegant fingers to her conjoined eyebrows, pushing them apart, "Worrying like that will give you wrinkles." The owner blushed lightly, but did not shy away. Kris smiled at her, and ran off after his group mates. The owner had turned into a block of ice. His glowing smile had her rooted to the spot and breathless. He was so.....beautiful.

"M'am? M'am?" The hotel manager was calling her name, but the owner was so fixated that she didn't notice. With a few waves in front of her face, the owner snapped out of it.

"I'm sorry. I was just lost in thought." The owner apoligized.

"Go take a break M'am. You've had a rough day. The rest of us can hold down the fort." The manager advised. She smiled at the older man and nodded. Yes, it would be nice to get a break.

It was late, maybe 12:45 or so. The owner, no matter how hard she tried, could not sleep. She tossed and turned in her bed, but could not find that special spot. Even watching TV did not tire her. She rose from the couch in the penthouse suite's living room and made her way to the large kitchen. Since she could not sleep, the owner decided it was a good idea to make coffee. As she grabbed a mug and went to find the coffee mix, she realized she forgot to tell the maids to restock the kitchen. So the only coffee was left downstairs in the restaurant. With a heavy sigh, she put on her silk robe and slippers so she could leave her suite and go down to the ground floor.

The owner had an idea on why she could not sleep, but she didn't want to admit it. Kris had been plagueing her thoughts non-stop since he left for the concert. It was good she did not have to work, or else she wouldn't be even to concentrate then. Kris was the root of the problem, she knew it. It sort of made her ticked off that she became so worked out over one man.

The elevator hummed and descended downward smoothly. Thankfully, the fuzzy feeling of sleep was ebbing at the corners of her eyes. She was debating on whether to turn back and go to her suite to try and fall asleep again, but the elevator had reached the bottom floor by then. The reflective doors slid open and she was surprised to see the scene in front of her. Somehow, two fan girls had snuck into the hotel, and were waving at the rest of the fans behind the glass doors outside. The owner snapped out of her hazy trance and instantly became the strong woman she was.

"Excuse, me. I do not believe you are checked in to any of our rooms. How did you get in?" The owner crossed her arms and stood behind the two girls. They froze and slowly turned around to face her. The duo were scared at first because they thought they had been caught by the manager, but when they saw a young woman in the hotel's robe, they relaxed.

"Why do we need to tell you, Ahjumma? Are you supposed to be someone important?" One of them looked her up and down with a snarky attitude. The owner just raised an eyebrow challengingly.

"You are not supposed to be here. Please, see yourselves out or I will have it done by force," The owner tapped her foot impatiently while bobbing the mug in time to the beat.

"Ooh, I'm so scared!" The second one spoke informally and made a 'yeah right' face, "Where's EXO-M oppas, huh?" The girls began to advance towards the elevators. With all of the security focused on protecting EXO-M, there wasn't anyone on the inside building. The owner held both arms out to try to block them, but the girls were persistent. One of them dared to grab her and shove her down. As she fell, she squeezed her eyes shut, bracing for the fall. The whooshing of air suddenly stopped, and her eyes shot open to feel arms cradling her. Kris was looming above her. His necklace dangled down and so did some of his shaggy hair. He lifted her up and onto her feet.

"Kris Oppa!" The two fan girls squealed, jumping up and down. Kris called for two security guards, which appeared almost instantaneously. They drug the girls away and out of sight. Kris still had an arm around the owner's shoulders.

"Thank you," The owner sighed in relief.

"No, thank you. I could tell you tried to protect us with your own body. It means a lot." Kris said gratefully. The owner blushed and nodded silently. He kept an arm over her shoulders, and lead them to the elevators. She didn't know where the rest of EXO-M was, but at this moment she didn't care. They didn't speak at all until they were in the elevator and Kris had pressed the penthouse button.

"How was the concert?" The owner sprung up awkwardly.

"Good, good," Kris nodded, "But I was off tonight."

"Oh, why?"

Kris turned his face to meet hers. He was intrigued that she was so sincerely interested. They locked eyes, comfortably this time.

"Because of you. You were constantly on my mind. I couldn't focus." Kris mumured and reached up his free hand to gently her cheek, "There was something there. From the moment I saw you, I knew weren't just another girl." That same hand curled around her soft cheekbones. For once, Kris was nervous, having her this close. The owner, couldn't even react. She was a gooey mess on the inside. Her heartbeat was pounding at the speed of light and sounding loudly in her ears. Kris leaned in and kissed her. It wasn't passionate or lusty, but soft, sensuous and sweet. His lips moved expertly and in time to hers, not wanting to detach the other's. The ding of the elevator doors ended their kiss.

Kris rested his forehead against hers, and chuckled. Her eyes opened then, wondering what was with the sound of amusement. Kris's eyes flashed open and gazed lovingly at her.

"I just remembered that I need to know your name to ask you out."

"Elina." She giggled back.

"Well, Elina, would you go out with me some time?"

"I'd love to."

And that is how one of the most powerful couples in South Korea came to be.
