만화 (Korean pronunciation: [manhwa]) is the general Korean term for comics and print cartoons (common usage also includes animated cartoons).

With the last book of this volume in your hand, you closed it with a smile.

"Finished it already?", the boy asked and he removed the book from your hands before holding your hands in his.

"Yup. Is the new one coming out anytime soon?"

He gave you a look, "From what I remember, you're the one working there, not me."

"Remember how we met?"

It was the holidays.

You had about a month and half off school.

You planned on staying home all day for that duration but your father wanted you to get a job. 

He even said that he won't be giving you allowance for this holiday. 

That gave you no choice but to look for a job. 

No idea how but you ended up at this small comic book store that had a fair amount of customers lazing on the couch, bean bags and chairs reading the manhwas. 

"Hi, young lady. May I help you?", an old man over the counter asked with a smile as you walked in. 

"Uh, yes. Are you hiring?" 

The old man was shocked, because its been a long time someone has ever walked in asking for a job. 

Not to mention a teenager like you. 

After noticing that he went quiet, you continue. 

"Please ahjusshi. I really need this job." 

"Okay then, you're hired." 

"Really?!" 

"Yes. The job here is easy. We don't have a lot of customers most of the time. Most of them just comes here and go to the racks to get their manhwas. They don't have to pay if they want to read it here. But they do if they want to borrow them home." 

You listened attentively as he continued. 

Within 2 hours, he showed you around the store and told you everything that you might need to do. 

"I think that's all. It shouldn't be too hard?" 

You quickly shook your head, "It's fine!" 

"Sorry to say but the pay won't be that high because the business isn't really that good." 

"Ah, its fine, ahjusshi. I'm glad that you hired me." 

He smiled again, "I'm sure you'll be a great help here." 

"So, when can I start work?" 

"If you don't mind, how about now?" 

"N-now?", he nodded. 

"I have new stocks coming in, so I need to check them at the back. Its lunch time soon, I'll close the shop for about an hour or two so you can get yourself familiarize with the aisle and books." 

"I guess I can start now." 

He clapped his hands together, "Good! Now let's see where we should start from." 

Luckily, you were good at memorizing and could easily get some tasks done. 

Lunch break was over and the shop owner, Mr Kwon, told you to unlock the door and tend the counter for him. 

Just as you unlocked the door, a guy in plaid shirt walks in with a cap on and sunglasses. 

"It's open, right?", he asks as you nodded. 

"Good.", he walks passed you and disappears among the aisles of manhwas. 

Business was slow but there was still a handful of customers that you could handle on your first day of work. 

"Thank you and please come again!", you bowed at the customer who left. 

"Are you new here?", a low voice startled you and it was the guy in plaid shirt. 

"You're still here?" 

It was almost closing and this guy actually stayed here for what, 8 hours. 

"I'm leaving now, aren't I? Anyway, you didn't answer me." 

"Yeah, my first day here." 

He nodded before leaving a amount of money on the counter and a manhwa in his hand. 

"Weird." 

4 weeks passed and you couldn't help but fall in love with the place you're working at. 

Yes, it might be a small comic shop but somehow, it gave you a homey feeling. 

Probably because of how the shop was decorated and the soft music that was playing through the speakers. 

And also, how nice the ahjusshi was treating you. 

When you told your father about the work place, he was worried but you assured him that the ahjusshi was really nice and he actually visited once before approving you of continue working there. 

"Hey, new girl." 

You looked up from the papers, "New girl?" 

"You're new, aren't you?" 

"Uh, I've been here for 4 weeks now." 

"Hmm, has it been a month already." 

He wasn't wearing shades today and you could clearly see every feature on his face. 

Someone that seemed like he had stepped out from a manhwa itself. 

He was handsome, but his eyes seemed a little swollen. 

"Your eyes."

He probably noticed you staring at him a little too long, "Oh, infection."

"You should add some eye drop to it. That works whenever my eyes are swollen."

"Your eyes get swollen often?"

"That's not what I meant."

He laughed, he actually laughed.

"Me and some friends went to the beach. I got thrown in the water and seawater got into my eyes."

You nodded as he spoked.

"Do you read?", he suddenly asked.

"I read. Magazines and novels once in awhile."

"Not those, I meant these.", he pointed to the manhwa he held in his hand.

"Haven't been interested in them before."

"And you work here?"

"Well, I needed a job and the ahjusshi was nice enough to hire me."

You swear his eyes were on you the entire time you spoke. 

"You're not in plaid today.", you spoke as you looked back at your papers. 

He laughed, "So you've notice." 

"That's not-" 

"It's cute. Anyway, I'm borrowing this. Keep the change." 

He was leaving the shop before you stopped him, "Hey." 

He stopped in his tracks and turned back to look at you. 

"What's that you're reading?" 

"Manhwa?" 

You rolled your eyes, "I know it's manhwa. Title?" 

"That's for me to know, for you to find out. I don't think anyone borrowed any books out today, so you can check the shelves for missing book. Later." 

"Ahjusshi." Mr Kwon looked up from his newspaper. 

"That guy that comes so often in plaid shirt." 

"Oh, Myungsoo?" 

"Myungsoo? That's his name?" 

"Oh yes. He's always here when he doesn't have schedule." 

"Schedule?" 

"You mean you haven't noticed that he look like someone for the past month?"

 You thought of his face but you couldn't think of anyone looking like him. 

"He's from Infinite, if you're wondering.", he continue to read his newspaper. 

"That's not what I was wondering." 

He stopped again and looked at you, "The manhwa he's been reading. Do you know the title?" 

He smiled at you, "Didn't he told you to go find out?" 

"Eh?! Ahjusshi!"

It's been days since you last seen the guy name Myungsoo. 

And no one has been renting books out, so you decided to check for the title. 

You walked through almost every shelf and you ended at the last one. 

There was a gap in between the 3rd column, and you took out one of the book. 

“I give my first love to you” 

"So this was what he has been reading?", you mumbled to yourself. 

"So I see you found out the title." 

He was here, after not seeing for few days. 

It seems like seeing his face once in awhile has became something you had to do now ever since you started working here. 

"Uh, yeah. You told me to, didn't you?" 

He was in plaid again today, and without his cap, sunglasses too. 

"Your eyes got better."

"Yeah, I put eyedrops.", he said as you chuckled.

"They actually worked, I see."

He looked at the book in your hand before he spoke.

"I was waiting for you to find out this book's title. I specifically told Mr Kwon to not tell you the title." 

"Yah." 

"Yah? I'm sorry but I think I'm older than you. And you don't yah a friend that you just met." 

"Friend? Since when are we-" 

He handed you one of the manhwas, "We can start by reading this together." 

He then took one of your hand to shake it, "Hi, I'm Kim Myungsoo." 

"Nam Inyoung." 

And that was how, both of you gave your first loves, to each other.

I was rolling on my bed last night when I suddenly had this idea of oneshot for Myungsoo.

His swollen eyes recently which I hope will recover soon, because it looked really bad :/

His recent addiction to the manhwa, "I give my first love to you"

Him and his never-ending plaid/checkered shirts.

It's really short and simple but I hope you guys will liked it too though :}
