The Runaway
Description
Another short story from me.
And guys...you might think I'm crazy for posting it all in a day. But I'm not actually after for comments.
If you leave some comments, then thank you.
I just want to share my stories here.
I'll try to figure out how to post my oneshots here.
Just wait for it.
Foreword
“Are we there yet?” I asked for the nth time already. Even though I knew that it was starting to get him annoyed, I still kept on asking. If it weren’t for the blindfold which covered my eyes, I wouldn’t have asked him.
I waited for his reply, but I didn’t get any. He continued leading me to God-knows-where. I sighed in defeat and just told myself to be a little more patient.
I felt us stop and I could swear that I was hearing music--- someone was playing the violin perhaps. But I wasn’t quite sure what it really was. The blindfold was also covering my ears.
I felt the blindfold loosen and within seconds, I was able to see light. I brought the back of my right hand to my eyes to cover it from the blinding light coming from an unknown source, letting it adjust for a few moments. If I weren’t wearing make-up, I would have rubbed my eyes to make my vision clearer, but I didn’t want to ruin my make-up and so, it took longer for my eyes for fully adjust.
When everything was clear, I gasped.
I looked around and everything was beautiful. We were in the middle of a garden full of different types of flowers. There was a round table with candles and wine in front of us. Across the table, there was a quintet playing the violin. On the background, I could hear the sound of the running water under the small bridge. The sky was cloudless and the stars were beautifully sparkling against the darkness of the night sky. Seeing that it was spring, the view could never be more beautiful.
“Wow. Ji... this is just beautiful.” I managed to let out. I was almost in tears and I could hardly speak.
I stared at his face for a few moments, admiring his features when he suddenly dropped to his knees and took something out of his pocket.
My eyes widened and I gasped.
“Sandara Park, we’ve known each other for 6 years and for 6 years, you made me realize how beautiful life is. Now, will you make me the happiest man for the rest of my life and marry me?” Jiyong said as he opened the tiny box, revealing a diamond ring.
Everything was perfect. It was everything a girl could wish for when the guy she loved proposed to her. But...
“I...I can’t.”
Even before he could ask me why, I ran away.
