The brunette shivered under his battered trench coat and his vision swayed, already feeling the onslaught of a particularly bad fever. He leaned heavily against the door as he fumbled with his keys, trying to shoot it in the hole with one eye open. It kept missing, making faint scratches on the wooden door.

He opened another eye to try again but suddenly, the doorknob was turning on its own and before he knew it, he fell flat on the ground face first.

“Donghae!”

Donghae slurred, head throbbing and world spinning as he vaguely felt someone violently shaking his shoulders and shouting profanities into his ear. He cracked an eye open to look up and saw a blur of yellow—and a huge smile instantly broke out on his face.

“Hyukjae~” He mumbled, fumbling for something inside his jacket pocket.

The blonde paid no mind as he continuously ranted about how much of a bastard Donghae was for making him worry, pressing a palm to the brunette’s forehead and spewing out even more profanities as he unceremoniously dragged Donghae to their room and threw him on the bed.

“Hyukjae,” Donghae grabbed at his hair, effectively pulling the blonde down until they were nose to nose. He smiled brightly, eyes crinkling.

“I got your cupcake!”

He shoved the snack into his boyfriend’s face and passed out.

Hyukjae stared at him in mild shock, not knowing whether to laugh or to cry. - - ♦
