Summary:

Jinyoung knew...everyone knew...and they couldn't do anything about it. Behind a bright smile lied pain and suffering. During promotions, Gongchan's kidney wasn't functioning well and had to get surgery but to make his fans happy; he asked to delay the surgery. The other members refused this decision but Gongchan's passion to make his fans happy made it hard to change his mind.

Jinyoung couldn't stand his lover in pain but knew how stubborn Gongchan can be. He tried to help Gongchan as much as he could; giving him painkillers when he needed it, making him sit out whenever he could, and letting him rest as long as he could. Sometimes Jinyoung stayed up all night just to make sure his lover slept properly. He cried to himself at night from the guilt and pain of not being able to help his lover.

Jinyoung was sitting near his keyboard; producing songs as usual. "Hyung...it hurts." He stood up instantly and grabbed the painkillers and bottle of water near his night stand. The leader climbed up his lover's bunk and saw the maknae clutching his side in pain; his face contorted in such torture. Jinyoung tried to hide his guilt behind his pokerface and said sternly, "Sit up." Gongchan nodded slowly and sat up slowly; trying to avoid causing himself even more pain. The pills and water was handed to him and the leader watched contently as Gongchan's face showed less pain.

The younger boy sighed in relief and leaned forward to give his lover a peck on the cheek. "Thanks hyung. I can always count on you." Jinyoung smiled widely at the loving gesture and said, "Rest. You need it." The leader began to crawl off the bunk when a hand gripped his shirt tightly. He turned to see Gongchan with a lost puppy expression and tears in his eyes. "Hyung...please don't leave." The mere sight made the leader's heart break and he instantly made his way back to his young lover.

They both leaned against the headboard; Gongchan rested his head against Jinyoung's head and Jinyoung leaned his head against the wall. The two laid in silence until Gongchan opened his mouth to speak and said softly, "I am sorry for being a bother." Jinyoung could already fell the tears well in his eyes. "You are not a bother. Stop saying that; it's not true." After those said words, no response came after and the leader leaned over and realized the maknae was sleeping. He sighed in relief; he didn't want the maknae to say more words of guilt and bring more pain to his heart. Jinyoung leaned his head on Gongchan's head and his lips pressed against his soft, curly locks. A light kiss was placed on the younger's boy head...
