Taeyeon stood silently at the entrance of Incheon Airport, watching the small groups of people who came and went, all completely oblivious to the going-ons in everyone else's lives. It was the middle of the night so luckily there weren't as many people as there could have been. Her eyes were red and the bags beneath them spoke of how little rest she had been getting in the days past and she did her best to cover them with a large pair of sunglasses. "Sunglasses in the middle of the night? Idiot..." She thought to herself with a sigh and slung the duffel bag over her shoulder and began to move inside.

It was just a couple days ago when the girl decided to run away from her life of stardom, having grown upset with the daily happenings. She longed for the time when it was possible to enjoy time with her friends. A time when she could walk to the convenience store at 1:00AM because she was thirsty. A time when her every move wasn't under constant supervision. She just wanted a life where every little thing she did wasn't put under a microscope. She wanted time to herself when she wasn't feeling well and didn't want to have to wear a fake smile whenever she was out in public. Taeyeon just wanted to live her life like a normal girl, something she thought she wouldn't miss after all those years of hard work when training to become an idol.

"Kim Taeyeon!"

Taeyeon froze in her tracks when she heard her name called out from behind her. She knew her actions were going to have dire consequences and had hoped to slip out of the country in the middle of the night without notice, but none of that mattered anymore. There was only one person that Taeyeon worried about about hurting and she was about to do just that. With a heavy heart Taeyeon slowly turned around and began to open .

"Yoon-" she started to answer before her head snapped to the side and tears began welling up in the corner of her eyes. Her cheek burned from where she had just been slapped and she reached up to hold her face while taking a glance out of the corner of her eye at the girl in front of her. This girl had been crying as well but instead of wearing a face of exhaustion and depression all she expressed was anger and frustration.

Hours seemed to pass as the two girls stood in silence, the taller one trying to bore holes in the shorter girl's head with her stare while the other remained looking at the ground. A few people passing by had momentarily stopped at the sound of a physical altercation but quickly resumed walking. The taller girl's hand was visible shaking as she stood there, trying her hardest not to let all her frustrations out.

"I'm sorry..." Taeyeon mumbled as she finally found her voice. She still refused to look at the girl in front of her, lest the tears she had been fighting to hold back burst through the floodgates of her resolve.

"Why?" Replied the taller of the two, the hurt evident in her voice. Taeyeon and Yoona and had been together for over seven years, both following their dreams of becoming idols. It was through a of luck that both girls were accepted into the same agency and through their hard work and determination it was revealed that they would be debuting as a duo.

"We were supposed to be together! We finally obtained our dream and you just want to throw it all away? What happened to the Kim Taeyeon I used to know? Where is my best friend that would always push me to try my hardest? The one who would scold me when I wanted to give up. My... unnie who... wouldn't let anyone hurt me..." Tears finally streamed down Yoona's face as she ranted to the shorter girl.

Taeyeon opened to speak again but no words came out. All she could do was finally make eye contact with the other girl and feel her heart break. Along with the ache in her chest the shorter girl could no longer keep herself from crying, her tears streaking down her face from behind the sunglasses she wore.

It was all too much. Taeyeon knew she wouldn't be able to leave if the moment between the long time friends continued for much longer. Her choice had already been made and she needed to follow through. Going back at this time would only bring more unnecessary hurt into their relationship. Without another word, Taeyeon slowly turned around and began moving towards the security gates. She couldn't stay there any longer and seeing Yoona in front of her was only making things harder.

Yoona's eyes opened wide and a look of shock appeared on her face upon the realization that her friend was just going to leave her standing there without so much as an explaination of her actions. She quickly took a few strides towards the retreating girl and grabbed ahold of her wrist, doing her very best to keep the two of them together.

Taeyeon immediately shook the younger girl off and continued to walk away. Not once did she turn around to look at her dongsaeng after that. Not when she heard Yoona fall to her knees and weep loudly. She didn't even peek back when she heard the whispers of some other passengers. It wasn't until she was through the security checkpoint and about to decend the escalator that would take her to her flight's gate that she momentarily stopped and turned. Yoona's hands were covering her face and even from that far distance her shoulders could be seen heaving.

"Take care of yourself Yoong." Taeyeon whispered as she steeled herself and took that last step onto the downward traveling escalator, slowly disappearing from sight.
