ATELOPHOBIA; FEAR OF IMPERFECTION

“ gets real,” Sunggyu likes to say, picking the lint off his jacket, only to throw it on once again. Woohyun frowns at the other’s appearance, personality, habits – his whole existence. Sunggyu is far from the perfection he desires – so far he doesn’t even know if he can get back. But the latter just smiles and decides to stab a hole into Woohyun’s heart, hide himself within it, and make sure Woohyun can’t get him out. It’s a smile of stardom and perfection which Woohyun shows, but Sunggyu trips him off and leaves him falling down. A clumsy laugh, a little fall here and there – the whole package of imperfection, all under one tag called Kim Sunggyu.

Woohyun tries to get him off; he tries to rid himself of the smelly, revolting stench of imperfection which is Kim Sunggyu. Of the flawed teeth and small eyes, flat hair and rough skin. He tries to erase and rub away Kim Sunggyu – that one black dot on a perfect white page. He’s that irritable blob on a beautiful drawing, or possibly the collection of dust which hides behind perfect rooms and floors. He’s the one thing which stops Nam Woohyun from reaching the depths of perfection.

Yet when the other smiles, all he can think of is the so called perfection within the imperfect.
