The Forgotten Vow ;;

Description

The Forgotten Vow
Based off of the movie “The Vow”.

“The Fallen, shall not rise…
and those who rose shall not fall.”

Ahn Min-seo and her husband Taemin had just left a movie theatre as a commemoration of their first date that had happened many years ago. However, on the way home Min-seo had unbuckled her seat belt to reach for her phone that had dropped beneath the dashboard. And it was at this very moment that a truck had rammed into the back of the car and Min-seo crashes into the windshield head first. Both of them are rushed into the emergency room as soon as they are found.

Unfortunately for Taemin, as soon as she regained her consciousness, memories of them ever having been together are nothing but a mystery to her. And he is nothing but a stranger in her mind.

The Author

I had a surge of inspiration while watching this at a salon. And I really enjoyed the movie, therefore I will really enjoy writing this! I hope you all enjoy reading it as well!

Foreword

“I vow to always love you; even till death do us part. To hold you in my arms when in times of silence, in times of need. And to speak happy joyous thoughts till the sun dawns. I vow to never leave your side even if the conclusion means death, and to always be your wife.” Her words were gentle, and the veil made it hard for him to see her face, but the hands that were still held in his made him smile at her tender thoughts.

“And now we will hear the vows of Taemin,” the priest announced as everyone was wiping their happy tears.

He searched for the tiny white notebook in his pocket and flipped through the pages. There was a slight croak in his voice as he had not spoken in a while. He cleared his throat and prepared his mind. “I, Lee Taemin, vow to love you in all of your forms. Be it, you become obeist, anorexic, bulimic or even a drug-addict… I will be there to stop you and still tell you, “I love you”. As we have once said before, “we belong together, and no matter the obstacle we will always find our way back into each other’s arms. I vow to you, Ahn Min-seo that I will always be there even if you’re a complete wreck. When no one else can recognize you, I surely will and be there to remind you just how beautiful you truly are.”

The crowd cheered with handkerchiefs in their hands and waves of hats. Taemin looked at Min-seo who gave him a loving gaze. “I love you,” she smiled and kissed him gently on the lips.

“I do too.”

Fear cuts deeper than swords. Only now do I understand this. The tension that filled the air when she stared at me with those cold, stranger-like eyes, the ones that used to stare at me every day and follow every line of my body, every indent of my muscles and ever change of my emotions. I could still feel the taste of her lips, the warmth of her tears, and the scent of her hair. She was mine, mine to keep and yet… now we have been separated. Why? Why was I cursed with this fate? Only to be forgotten by my only one family, only to be killed from the inside and then out.

I thought I knew fear, but this… this was a much bigger taste of fear than I was used to. I wish I was under God’s eye, so he could see just how much suffering that one accident has caused me, pained me. Days have lingered on, but no sign of remembrance have appeared. She changed the old me, and made the new me better. I wanted her to know that. I wanted to keep her in my life. But not, I render useless without her by my side.

Without Min-seo, I have become nothing but an empty shell left to roam the Earth without a purpose.
