Our First Encounter

My Boyfriend Kim Jaejoong

(Alex’s POV)

“Ah~!” I lifted my hands up and moved them from side to side stretching. “That flight was sooo long! I hate airplanes.”

I got my luggage from the moving luggage cart and headed out towards the exit. I stood outside dropping my heavy bag on the ground beside me.

“Dam, what the hell am I carrying?! Bricks! Geez!” I said out loud earning stares from people. I bit my lip and hung my head low in embarrassment.

Nice one Alex! Make yourself the foreign weirdo!

My stomach began to growl since I didn’t have a decent meal before I left my hometown and the puny bags of salted peanuts the flight attended gave us didn’t suffice my appetite.

I unfolded my map and turned it every which way trying to read the writing but failed, miserably.

“Dammitt! Why does it have to be in Korean!?” I looked up at my surroundings trying to match any place with the marks on the map. Nothing.

“Aw the hell with it! I’m winging this !” I crumbled the map into a ball and stuffed it in my jacket.

Throwing my dead weight of a bag over my shoulder, I started walking around making an attempt to act like I belong there, although with my slightly wavy hair that has red and black highlights, non-Asian eyes and no very thin figure, I still managed to blend in and NOT stick out like a sore thumb.

Roaming into a part of town, I smelled the delicious aroma of food-whatever food they eat here. I followed the scent, leading me into a building that sold clothes.

Did I enter the wrong building?

I sniffed the air and smelled the odor again.

This way.

Like a hound dog, I followed my nose that lead me through several different department stores, each one above the one before.

“Dang, they sure are compact aren’t they?”

Finally, I reached my destination-a restaurant.

“Yes! FOOD!!” I yelled loudly jumping in happiness.

Yet again, people gave me weird looks.

I have got to stop doing that! I mentally faced palmed myself hanging my head low, making my way to a spot on the very back that had large windows that looked out over the city.

I gazed over a small menu that lay on the white counter that was against the large windows.

“Ugh, again in Korean. And what the hell is this? Won? What the is that? Is that what they use for money?”

Just then, it dawned on me that I had no money whatsoever. All the money I had saved went into buying the ticket and depositing for a small rundown apartment.

“, I’m in trouble. I don’t have money.”

I sighed putting the menu back on its original spot, hitting my forehead on the counter.

My stomach growled louder. “Shut up, I know you’re hungry.” I hit my own belly as an act to quiet its roars, to no avail.

I kept hitting my stomach and thumping my forehead that I didn’t notice someone sitting beside me.

Sniff, sniff. There’s food in the air, but where?

My nose sniffed the scent of a sandwich. I had my eyes closed while sniffing like a dog again.

I leaned over to my side opening my eyes spotting a delectable, beautiful sandwich calling out for me to eat it.

My mouth watered.

“Achem.”

I heard someone clear their throat. I instinctively looked up to see a hot guy leering at me with a weird expression on his face.

My eyes grew and the heat on my cheeks blazed in pure mortification.

Instantaneously, I shot up straight biting my lip mumbling a sorry, not being able to look directly at the handsome man’s eyes.

I was expecting him to run away or something but what he did was totally not expected. He chuckled lightly and pushed his sandwich to me.

I gazed at the sandwich and then at him confused.

He smiled at me.

Ahh! Such a cute smile! I blushed.

He pointed to the sandwich egging me to eat it.

“You want me to have your sandwich?”

He blinked tilting his head in slight confusion.

Oh right he can’t understand me.

“You.” I pointed one finger at him. “Want me.” Pointed to myself. “To eat.” I opened my mouth gesturing my hand in a forward and backward motion as a signal to eat. “Your sandwich?” finally pointed to the sandwich.

As if by some telepathical force, the guy understood what I said and nodded smiling that beautiful smile.

I couldn’t help but blush again.

I thanked him and devoured the sandwich.

“Ahh~ satisfaction!”

He chuckled still staring at me.

“Did it taste good?”

I blinked at him.

Um what the hell did he just say?

He repeated it again.

Still no clue. Where’s a Korean translator when you need one!

Suddenly the hot guy’s phone rang.

Wonder who it could be? I thought to myself as he just ran out in a hurry.

I blinked.

“He just left without saying anything. I didn’t even catch his name.”

(Hot guy’s POV)

I walked into Deli’s sandwich shop; the delicious aroma of the cold cuts hit me like a ball to the face.

I bought a sandwich and wet to sit in the very back of the shop because I didn’t want people to recognize me.

There was a strange person sitting on one of the high chairs hitting their stomach and thumping their forehead.

Wonder what’s with him?

Before I knew it, the odd person was sniffing up my sandwich.

Um ok? This guy is weird.

I cleared my throat to get the guy’s attention.

“Achem.”

He looked up and I noticed it was a girl.

Oh, it’s a foreign girl.

She must have felt extremely embarrassed because her face changed into a tomato.

I chuckled.

Cute. She must be hungry and most likely not have any money.

I pushed my delectable sandwich to her.

At first she stared confused and said something in English.

Um what did she say?

I tilted my head signaling her that I didn’t understand.

Then she pointed at me, herself and the sandwich.

Is she asking me if she can eat it?

I nodded smiling.

She blushed again and attacked the poor sandwich.

I watched in surprise.

She eats like Changmin.

I couldn’t help but chuckle at the image of the maknae being a foreign girl.

“Did it taste good?”

She blinked not understanding a word I said.

Oh, right she doesn’t understand me. Where’s an English translator when you need one!

My phone suddenly rang.

“Yeboseyo?”

Oh ! I’m late!

“N-ne manager hyung! Mianhe!”

I hung up and ran out not excusing myself.

“Aish, I should have at least said good bye.”

As I entered the practice room, the others were already in their positions ready to start. I quickly apologized and ran to my spot.

That girl was strange but in an amusing way. Our first encounter is definitely one that I will remember.
