“I wonder what happened to her and why did she changed so sudden,” said the old woman who’s talking to her husband – “why can’t they mind their own business,” she cursed inside her mind “Angela-ssi,” called her butler but she wasn’t on her senses “Angela-ssi, aren’t you going inside?” At last, she got back to her senses

“should I go inside or not?” there’s a tug-o-war inside her, “give me a second, Mr. Park” her butler can’t do anything since he knew what will happen if he forced her to go inside. “this lady isn’t like this before, but why there’s a sudden big changed inside her?” Mr. Park asked himself but shrugged it off “Angela-ssi, your mom is waiting for you.” He calmly said “Okay, I understand.” Suddenly Angela walked inside the restaurant leaving her butler behind

“Darling, you’re here.” Her mom stood up from her seat and hugged her daughter, “Unfortunately,” she mumbled, luckily her mom didn’t heard it “come on, seat here.” Her mom patted the seat next to her on the left side, “Darling, aren’t you going to greet your auntie?” her mom whispered to her. She looked in front of her and saw the mother of the ‘guy’ she hated the most and also the reason why did she changed so much, “Good afternoon, Auntie.” She greet the older woman in front of her sweetly, “Good afternoon to you also, Sweetheart.” The older woman greeted back

“Hyangsuk-ah, why is he not here yet?” Angela’s mother asked, “I think he’s on his way now, Oh! There he is.” Mrs. Lee stood up from her seat as she greet her son with a warm hug, “Donghae-ah, are you really Donghae?” Mrs. Kang stood up from her seat and hugged Donghae, “Good afternoon, Auntie.” Donghae greeted sweetly then smiled,

“Angela-ah, aren’t you going to greet your friend?” Angela was frozen on her seat when she heard her what her mother said to her “greeting won’t kill, right?” she asked herself “Angela-ah, at least give him a hug.” Her mother commanded her, “it’s okay, she’s probably tired.” Angela sighed in relief as she heard what her auntie said

Everyone got back from their seat, “so, how are you, Donghae-ah?” Yoonji asked, “I’m fine, auntie. Thank you for asking.” Angela was looking at Donghae secretly and she saw him smile, the smile that made her fall in love with him – “how about you, sweetheart?” Hyangsuk asked while smiling at Angela “what should I answer? Oh god. I’m getting frustrated” she looked around first before answering “I’m fine, Auntie.” She faked smiled “No, I’m not fine. Auntie” she wanted to say it out loud but she restrained herself, “Hyangsuk-ah, can you accompany me first?” Yoonji asked “Of course,” Hyangsuk stood up and then Angela “No, auntie. I’ll accompany mom, stay here okay?” she said, “it’s okay, Sweetheart.” Hyangsuk told her “Yes, it’ll be fine, Darling. Don’t worry.” Yoonji assured her daughter then leave together with Hyangsuk

“what now?” awkward silence filled the room not until Donghae broke it, “so, how are you?” he asked her the same question as what his mom asked “like what I said earlier, I am fine.” She answered coldly “but you didn’t look fine.” Donghae said “It’s none of your business.” She coldly said to him still not looking, “what’s your problem, Angela?” he asked her but she just replied him with a irritated sigh “you can tell me, I’m your friend remember?” Angela give him an intense glare, “who told you you’re my friend?” she asked him with an irritated voice “I thought we’re – ” but before he could even finish his sentence, she cut his sentence off “friend? I don’t think so.” She smirked at him

“so it’s true, you’ve really changed a lot.” Donghae sighed, “why don’t you mind your own business?” she asked him coldly again

Flashback

Angela cooked food for her best friend’s birthday, and it was already served but he’s still not home, “where could he be?” she dialed his number and without a second, someone answered it but it wasn’t him, instead, it’s a girl

“who’s this?”

“I should be the one asking you that question. Where’s Donghae?”

“he’s here, beside me. So can you tell me who you are?”

“I’m his friend.”

“Well, I’m his girlfriend and he told me that you don’t have to call him anymore. Bye”

After the call, Angela couldn’t believe of what she have heard – She looked at the food she cooked, and can’t help but to cry “you told me, you’ll spend your birthday with me, why with someone else?” she’s now mentally talking to herself “and why didn’t you tell me, you already have a girlfriend, I thought you said you love me?” she cried harder as she remember the night when Donghae said he loves her “but you played with my heart.” She punched the wall over and over again until it bleeds – that night, she promise to herself, she won’t be played again and will never love again.

“why are you being like that to me?” Donghae was now half shouting, “why don’t you ask yourself” she bluntly said, “is it because of what happen a year ago?” he asked, “Oh well, you know?” she said without noticing tears are now forming in her eyes “Angela, let me explain,” Donghae tried to explain but Angela just laugh bitterly “explain? No thanks, I don’t have time for that.” She stood up from her seat and was about to go, but she froze when she felt a strong pair of arms wrapped around he, “I’m sorry. Please, let me explain.” She tried to release herself from him but he’s way too strong, “let me go.” Her voice were cracking, “I won’t, not until you let me explain.” Donghae being stubborn, still held her tight “I don’t think, if I let you explain will fix everything. Donghae-ssi, if you want everything back, let me go. I think it’ll be the best solution for us to be okay.” She said and she felt Donghae loosen the hug

“I’m sorry, but I think this is the only way, we can fix everything. By letting go of each other.”
