My Little Girl (oneshot)

My Little Girl

The sun rose luminously, proudly embracing the beautiful morning as the street down below began to crowd over with people who wanted to start the day. And just like the other morning, Yunho stood, leaning on the side of his shiny silver car, waiting for his girlfriend to come down from her apartment.

Yunho had been waiting there for what felt like ages now. He cast a quick glance at his watch; it was already 08:06. He had a meeting at 08:30. The ride from her apartment, to her school took approximately 15 minutes. If she didn’t come out in the next 5 minutes, he wouldn’t make to the meeting in time.

However, at long last, Yunho heaved a sigh of relief, for just when he looked up for what seemed like the umpteenth time, he finally saw his girlfriend walking down the stairs. She looked just as beautiful and graceful as the day he first met her. Seeing her coming towards him, dressed in her school uniform, he remembered she wore just that when they met for the first time on that wet evening.

Initially, they got to know each other from a chat room. He couldn’t recall clearly from which chat room he knew her; Yunho only remembered that after they had a little talk there, he asked her whether or not she would mind if he added her to his friends list. She said she was more than glad to be added. And before he knew it, Yunho had grown attached to her.

Yunho certainly didn’t know whether it was coincidence or not, but it seemed like whenever he was online, she was online as well. Once Yunho told her that maybe they had some kind of special bond. He told her that, maybe, they should meet up. After all, they lived in the same district. So, was a cup of coffee with a not-so-new friend really a problem?

They agreed both on the time and place to meet; it was to be at five o’clock sharp at the Relliquim Café 5 blocks away from her apartment. When Yunho asked her what she would be wearing, so he might have some hope of recognizing her, she told him it wouldn’t be necessary. She would recognize him once he entered the Café.

In truth, Yunho expected to see a young woman dressed in a posh blouse and skirt, smiling brightly, waving to him when he entered the Café. Therefore, Yunho was quite surprised when he discovered that the girl he used to chat with online was only in a high school student. Obviously, the girl had lied when she told him she was only two years younger than him. Yunho had been so happy when she said she was single and 25.

Back then, the only thing that occupied his mind was the idea that he could finally end his long bachelor life by marrying her. From the way she talked he knew she was a nice girl. He knew he liked her. And he had made up his mind to make this girl his own. He was confident in succeeding! It was not as if the reason he had been single all this was due to his looks. In fact he was actually very attractive. The sole reason he was still single was because he couldn’t seem to find any woman that attracted him or he felt happy being with. And Yunho knew for sure, he would be more than happy to be with this chat girl friend.

He had high hopes when he finally got the chance to face her. Thus, it was only normal to see in his brown eyes a deep reflection of disappointment, of sadness and anger when he took a seat alongside her—this high school girl dressed in her school uniform instead of a young woman, dressed, well, like a young woman.

“If you knew I am only 18, you wouldn’t want to chat with me,” she pouted, anxiously stirring her tea. “It was only habit, you know.. I tend to—I often lie about my age to older people who I want to chat with. Because I know they wouldn’t feel comfortable chatting with a mere high school student. I know it’s selfish of me, but I enjoyed chatting with you and would like to chat with you again. That’s why I lied to you, too.. I am sorry...”.

The truth was Yunho also enjoyed chatting with her. It made his day. She always succeeded in making his lips tilt up into a small smile with her jokes. Chatting with her had almost become an addiction. Thus, when she said she was sorry in a shy and guilty tone, the anger he felt earlier quickly faded. After all, she was still the same girl who accompanied him whenever his insomnia came.

“Okay, I forgive you. But don’t ever tell people lies anymore. Pinky swear?”, Yunho held out his pinky finger, showing her a small, warm smile.

The girl before him shifted her eyes slowly from her cup of tea to his pinky finger. She stared at his pinky finger and then into his eyes.

Yunho admitted that the girl was beautiful. The chocolate orbs which stared into him were piercingly breathtaking. Her hair which curled up decorating her jaw was beautiful. She possessed the beauty of a goddess. He could ask her out and make that man over at the other table staring at her mourn in jealousy, couldn’t he? But did he even stand a chance with a young, extremely young, girl? He might look like some old, erted creep walking out with her, anyway. The nine years kinda got in the way.

“I promise,” she stated firmly, pulling Yunho from his thoughts. Yunho raised his eyebrows in confusion; a little taken aback by her sudden change of attitude. He could only smile sheepishly at her while pulling his pinky finger when he realized she answered his earlier question, instead of hooking her finger up with his.

They chatted for a good fair while and when it came time to bid each other goodbye, Yunho offered her a ride, which she accepted pleasantly. When they reached her apartment, he didn’t forget to ask where her school was and what time she finished, wanting to know whether it was okay if he picked her up after school.

A week after their first meeting, they started to go out. Yunho almost couldn’t believe his own ears when he asked her out, and when she said yes. When he made up his mind to finally ask her out that day, he was ready for the worst. The girl could have walked out on him; thinking of him an odd, erted old man hoping for a chance with a teenage girl. But no. She said yes, a small smile decorating her luscious pink lips, making her the most beautiful girl on earth! He couldn’t help but beam when his mind, slowly but surely consuming the new information, realized what her “yes“ meant: a most distractingly beautiful girl was his girlfriend.

He constantly called himself lucky from that day on.

But now, he didn’t know if it was still luck or not. Not now as the girl walking down her apartment stairs and stared at him without emotion.

Yunho turned around and opened his driver door. He got behind the steering wheel and opened the passenger seat door beside him for the dark-haired girl to get in.

“Hey, Jiyeon-ah,” Yunho said once she was inside, before starting the ignition. “Have a good rest last night?”.

“Mm-hmm,” was her only answer. Yunho let out a sigh of disappointment. Was it so hard just to answer him that she simply gave up on words?

Yunho glanced at the girl beside him. She was now staring out of the window. Yunho wondered what it was that was on her mind. Was something bothering her? Why didn’t she try to talk it out with him if there was? Why didn’t she just vomit everything that was in her mind to him? Why did she seem so distant nowadays? Why did she often neglect him?

“Jiyeon-ah,” Yunho called softly.

“Hmm?”, Jiyeon still staring out of the window.

“Is there something bothering you?”.

Yunho could see out of the corner of his eye that she shifted her gaze towards him. He felt slightly contented that she finally paid attention to him.

“No. Why?”

“Ah, I only thought you are.. quieter than usual..”, Yunho smiled bitterly, still paying full attention to the traffic before his eyes.

The truth was she was always quiet whenever she was with him. Well, not quite. The first week they started going out was alright. She was always cheerful and talkative. Talking, smiling, laughing, and commenting about everything around. But it changed almost dramatically when Yunho gave her a ride to her school one day soon after. Suddenly, she was so quiet that Yunho could hardly recognize her. And from then on, she had always stayed quiet whenever Yunho was around.

It was queer, indeed. He had witnessed her laughing joyfully with her friends the other day. It was one of those days when he had spare time from his hectic work schedule to pick her up from school. It was almost soon after he greeted her that the melodious laughter died down. Since that time, Yunho was always wondering over and over again why she felt the urge to act that way? Was she trying to send a silent message to him that she was tired of him? Tired of dating an old man?

Yunho felt his heart pricked with thorns and needles at the thought. It couldn’t be that, could it? It couldn’t be because she felt aggravated being with him, could it?

“Uhm, Jiyeon-ah,” Yunho gulped a lump which suddenly formed inside his throat. “Are you free tonight?”.

Jiyeon took a glance at him, then gazed out of the window again. “Yea, why?”.

“Well,” Yunho gulped the lump again. He was anxious to know whether she still wanted to hang out with him. If she didn’t, then it was better they didn’t see each other anymore. There would be no point in Yunho seeing her anymore if she truly had grown tired of him. “I wanna know whether you’d like to go to the theatre with me?”.

She turned to look at him. “Why not?”, Jiyeon replied, giving Yunho a weird look. “What time will you pick me up?”

~*~*~*~*~

Since they had started going out, Yunho never once stepped into her apartment. He was happy, extremely happy he finally could visit her place that he felt his heart beating faster each second.

Well, that was a lie. He was fully aware it wasn’t the real reason as to why he couldn’t stop his own heartbeat from rising as he walked up the stairs toward her room. It was all because of an earlier comment from his co-worker when he had told him he would go to his girlfriend’s place. It was all completely Yoochun’s fault that now he thought of his girlfriend in a wrong, inappropriate way.

“You might end up having with her, anyway,” Yoochun had said with a playful grin plastered on his face.

“No way,” Yunho remembered he had told Yoochun that firmly. “She is only 18. For Heaven’s sake, she is still a kid. I certainly won’t be the one who ruined her innocence.”

“Keep telling yourself that. When was the last time you slept with woman?”.

When was it, Yunho? The last time he had had was when he was invited to one of his co-worker‘s party in a nightclub near their office. He was pretty drunk back then. He didn’t even remember he had gone to bed with a girl. It was only a one-night stand with a girl whose name he barely remembered. And it all happened like three months ago. God knows how much he needed these past of days. Especially when his job had successfully put him onto an insomnia state. He barely slept with all the things occupying his mind. Therefore, those times when he used to chat with Jiyeon did him a lot of good. He, at least, was not the only soul who was still wide awake at 2 a.m.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

Yunho waited for the girl inside the room to open the door. He tightened his hold on the red rose bouquet that he bought on the way towards Jiyeon’s apartment in order to calm his heart, which was pounding mercilessly against his ribs. Now, as he was already close to entering her room, getting rid of the image of him pinning her to bed and ing her senselessly was becoming a hard task to do. He needed to stop the filthy thoughts quickly. He needed to be composed. Otherwise, he would act extremely awkward and nervous in front of her.

But after a minute passed, he was greeted in utter silence. There was no sign of movement around him nor from behind the door in front of him.

Knock. Knock. Knock. “Jiyeon? Are you inside?”.

No answer.

Yunho’s brows furrowed in confusion. Today, he didn’t pick her up from school. Jiyeon had informed him she would be at her friend’s house doing an assignment after school. But she also told him she would be home before 7 p.m; before Yunho picked her up. So there was just no way she was still at her friend’s house, was there? It was already late.

Yunho took his cell phone out from his pocket. But before he could press her speed dial number, the door swung open revealing his beloved figure wrapped in a black hot pants and a dark sleeveless shirt.

He cursed Yoochun viciously inside his mind for throwing him in such a difficult state. If it hadn’t for his little comment, he wouldn’t be feeling like this.

The whole thing simply had gotten worse now. Yunho couldn’t stop himself from getting a little aroused at the sight of her y figure. His breathing began to thicken as he gazed at her exposed creamy white skin glowing against her dark purple shirt. His eyes began to travel down her body and rest upon her beautiful thighs. Filthy thoughts came back rushing into him, teasing his sanity, not to jump at her and rip her shirt off right at her doorway.

“Ah, Yunho..”, Jiyeon rubbed her eyes with the back of her hand, sleepily. “I’m sorry.. I fell asleep.”

“Huh? O-oh,” Yunho replied, flustered as he came back from his dirty fantasy. “Yea.. it’s—it’s okay...”.

Silence. “Ah. Thi-this is for you.” Yunho held out the bouquet to her.

“Oh, thanks,” she took the bouquet gently.

“I hope you like roses,” Yunho said quietly, giving her a small smile despite feeling a little disappointment seeing no emotion on her face. Naughty thoughts haunting his mind quickly faded into thin air as he greeted her coldness once again.

Jiyeon then backed out a bit, asking him silently to enter the room. She closed the door once Yunho was inside and walked in front of him showing him the way towards her bedroom.

Yunho followed Jiyeon, after taking his shoes off. He couldn’t help but stare at her beautiful figure. But strangely, he didn’t feel aroused anymore. Perhaps it was because of his sadness knowing the icy state of her attitude. Maybe that had overcome any inappropriate thoughts of his little girl.

Oh, how he loved her so much! Yunho missed her smile. Especially her cute pout. She never showed it these past days. It must be because she had truly grown bored of him.

Yunho heaved a long sigh, his eyes observing her bedroom. The furniture there was arranged neatly, but the books scattered on everywhere made the room looked like a place of a war.

“Sorry, my room is a mess,” she said, casting a glance over her shoulder at him before going towards her bedside table. She sat on the bed after pushing the books there aside and took the empty vase on top of the table. She began working on putting the beautiful roses into it.

Yunho gazed at Jiyeon, observing her gesture arranging the flowers. Then he went to sit behind her desk. That was when he saw a picture in frame showing his little Jiyeon and someone else smiling brightly holding vanilla ice cream.

“Jiyeon-ah, who is this guy?”, he questioned, while pointing to the picture.

Jiyeon stopped in her tracks and looked at what Yunho was referring to over her shoulder.

“Jaejoong; my ex,” was her short reply, but successfully made Yunho’s heart sink down. True, they had never taken photos together yet. But it wasn’t reason enough to keep someone else’s photo when one has gotten oneself a new lover to cherish.

Yunho felt that he had been fooled all this time. He felt so angry at her. But despite his anger, he couldn’t help the sour sadness that was seeping into his heart, at the thought she didn’t really cherish him. She had lied all this time. Yea, she must have been lying the time when she told him she also liked him. It was only logical that way. If not, why did she keep another person’s picture in her room? He wouldn’t be surprised though if she indeed lied. After all, it was her nature.

Then, what was right about her? Had it all been nothing but lies? Was it also lies when she told him she had sacrificed her sleep at night to chat with him—to accompany him when he was struggling to sleep but couldn’t?

Yunho felt his head spinning. He felt very dizzy. He didn’t know what was true about her anymore. He couldn’t understand her. Yunho was obviously wrong when he had first thought he could overcome the between them. He could never understand Jiyeon.

“Yunho, I will take a shower,” she informed him while walking towards the bathroom door.

“You still want to go?”, Yunho snapped furiously. For some reason, he wanted to laugh at her. Or himself. His pathetic self.

Jiyeon looked perplexed. “What?”, she knitted her brows. But before Yunho could say anything, the girl had disappeared into the bathroom door leaving Yunho alone in the room occupied with his deep thoughts.

~*~*~*~*~

Yunho walked to the living room and sat on the sofa. He leaned back and closed his eyes, thinking over the past events. His rage was cooling down quickly as he thought over and over again about the relationship between him and his little lover. He could view everything in a more tactful way now.

Jiyeon was obviously only playing around with him. She was still young, anyway. Yunho couldn’t blame her much on that. She was curious. Maybe, at first, she thought it was fun, enjoyed the challenge to date an older man. Maybe she already realized now, that dating an old, busy man like him wasn’t fun after all. A complete waste. Maybe she thought that. It was all his fault to think that he could claim her as his, without bringing up any serious issues.

Yunho laid his arm over his eyes, trying hard not to shed a tear. He regretted meeting her. If he knew everything would ended up like this, it would have been better if he only knew her as a chat friend. Now, what was he going to do as he has become so loving towards her? As he has tasted the comforting presence of her in his lonely life? It always made his day seeing her. He didn’t want to let her go.

“Yunho?”

Yunho turned his head to see his beloved already dressed in a decent dress. She still looked lovely after everything that she has done to him. He loved her that much.

“What are you doing there?”, she asked, tilting her head to the side, curiously.

Yunho forced a small smile at her. “Nothing. Come on, we’re going to be late for the movie.”

Yunho kept quite on the ride to the theatre. He had made up his mind: today was the last day he would seeing her. After the movie, after he dropped her off, he would tell her that they should stop seeing each other. He was sad at the thought of breaking up with her. But he couldn’t be selfish, right? He couldn’t bear seeing her feeling anxious and uneasy whenever Yunho was around, like right now. It made him sad.

Yunho looked at her. He could tell that she was feeling anxious. It was written all over her face. And by her hands. Jiyeon had once told him when they chatting that she had some kind of habit. She said whenever she was feeling anxious and uneasy, she clenched her hands tightly on her dress and began playing with the fabric. Like what she was doing now. It made Yunho’s heart sink even more. Lucky for that guy who was in the picture on the desk. He must not experience the pain Yunho was feeling now.

“Jiyeon-ah,” Yunho called. He didn’t know why, but he felt the urge to ask this. “Can I ask you? How long have you two dated?”.

“Huh?”, Jiyeon looked at him. “Who?”.

“Err—with.. with the guy on the picture that’s sitting on your desk?”.

“Oh.” Brief silence. “Seven months.”

Yunho felt ill, he was extremely jealous now. She dated him that long?

“Wow, that’s... long,” he commented, trying hard not to sound too bitter. “Why did you two break up, anyway? If you two dated that long...”.

Jiyeon still stared outside the window car.

“Couldn’t I know?”, he asked again while smiling bitterly without looking at her.

“Why do you care?”, her answer barely audible. But Yunho didn’t miss the sheer coldness in her tone. “It was all in the past.”

“Yeah, true,” Yunho let out a chuckle. But this time, he couldn’t hide the bitterness in his voice.

“Yunho, are you okay?”, Jiyeon turned her head to look at him.

“Yea, yea. Of course!”, Yunho chuckled again. He should keep smiling and laughing to prevent his eyes from shimmering with tears. He was hurting so much. The sadness and jealousy only making harder to breath.

“Yunho, if there is anything, you could always tell me.”

Now, why do you care? He felt like snapping at her. But he didn’t. If today was going to be their last time together, he wanted to let the day he broke up with her come as nicely as possible. If they were going to part ways, Yunho didn’t want their last time together tainted with wasteful argument.

Oh, how he wished this evening could ended quickly. All he wanted to do now was hide inside his room crying over his foolishness upon loving her.

The car finally came into a halt. Yunho parked his car in the very last corner of the parking lot underground the theatre. He opened his door and locked the car once Jiyeon got out. He put both of his hands inside his pockets and walked off first. He made sure this last time together wouldn’t go to waste if this evening truly would be the last time he saw her. He was now determined to enjoy every last bit with her.

But when he felt Jiyeon didn’t come with him, he halted his steps and turned around. Five steps from her he stood; Jiyeon stood beside his car, motionlessly. She stared at him piercingly with a look which surprised him. She looked anxious, but there was something else written on her face. Something that he was unsure about.

Yunho reached his hand out to her, asking her silently to come with him. “Come on,” he softly said, forcing a genuine smile. But to his disappointment, his smile came out as an awkward smile.

Jiyeon took a step forward. Her steps were slow, eyes never leaving Yunho’s chocolate orbs. She took Yunho’s hand in hers and then walked up close to him until she was only inches away from him. What happened after that went fast. She planted her lips on Yunho’s cheek and retreated back quickly. Although the kiss was brief, it sent an electric spark down Yunho’s spine. Her lips felt warm upon his skin.

“Feeling better?”, Jiyeon asked, smiling timidly. The pink shade on both of her cheeks made her looked even more beautiful.

“Wh-why?”, Yunho managed to ask after recovering from shock.

“Huh?”, Jiyeon frowned and tilted her head to the side, subconsciously playing with their intertwined fingers.

“Di-did you just kiss me?”, Yunho asked her again in his disbelief. “Wh-why?”.

Jiyeon pouted. And Yunho was extremely happy finally he could witness her cute pout again.

“I wanted to comfort you. You looked.. uneasy and—you were acting strange. It’s okay if you didn’t want to talk about your problems with me, but I want to help you.. It’s just—you looked somehow... sad? It made me sad, too.. Besides,” she smiled shyly. “can’t I kiss my own boyfriend?”.

Yunho really felt like crying now. But it wasn’t because he was feeling sad. It might be silly; but it was because he was happy upon hearing her calling him her boyfriend.

“But.. but why do you always act cold toward me?”, Yunho finally had the courage to ask.

Yunho didn’t know he was imagining it right now or not, but the pink shade on her cheeks deepened.

Jiyeon let her hold on Yunho’s hand fall and began to grip tightly onto her dress; she was uneasy. She set her eyes on the ground while speaking,

“I.. I didn’t mean to. I was only trying to act more mature. I didn’t want anyone to mistake you as my older brother ever again; like my friends did. I didn’t really know how to match you. But, well, I began trying to act mature by shutting my fussy mouth up and tried to stop my constant whining. Besides, I also didn’t want you to treat me like a kid. I wanted you to see me as a girl who can always lend her ear to hear her boyfriend’s problems. Every time you are with me, you always stay quiet. We never really talk. Even when we first met, I was the one who started talking, remember?

“I have been trying to achieve that.. So I tried to be quieter. Shutting my mouth really did help prevent my constant whine. But, uh, I ended up being a little cold to you?”, she looked up, her expression apologetic, before her gaze fell on the ground again. “I thought you liked the cold me better. You never complained. So I always acted cold in front of you. Besides, my friends have always told me I looked more.. adult that way.. But you never open up, either.. I was—”.

Yunho could hear her gasp when he suddenly grabbed her around the waist and pulled her into a tight embrace.

“Yu-Yunho..”, he could hear her voice just near his ears. He rested his head on the crook of her neck. So near to her, she smelled wonderful. It made him more contented than ever. He felt really close to her while hugging her like that.

He was relieved that Jiyeon didn’t dislike him. She was also struggling to overcome the between them. He could cry in happiness now.

“Yunho, I can’t breathe..”.

“Uh, sorry..”, he loosened his hold. “But let me hold you for a while, hm?”.

Jiyeon replied with a caressing touch flowing up and down his back soothingly. Yunho could feel the love radiating from her touch. It was bliss. He felt so light; he felt like flying. Everything that was bothering his mind and burdening his shoulder suddenly lifted.

Yunho broke his hold and held both of her hands gently. He gazed into his little girl’s eyes, and then brought one of his hands up to tuck a few strands of her hair behind her ear; his eyes never leaving hers.

Looking into those clear eyes, he felt guilt suddenly wash over him. He felt terrible he had accused her of being a girl of lies earlier that evening. How could he accuse his innocent girl for lying when she had already promised she wouldn’t tell anyone lies anymore?

“Hey, I’m sorry..”, Yunho breathed out after a long moment of staring at each other’s eyes.

“About what?”.

“You know, when you said earlier about—well,” he squeezed her hands in his nervousness. “you should know, actually I really never had the intention to talk about anything regarding my job or problems or anything personal with you.”

“What? What does that mean?”, Jiyeon frowned. “Does that mean you didn’t trust me?”.

“N-no! Of course not,” Yunho felt terribly nervous now. He let go of her hands and scratched the back of his neck. How could he explain it to her? “It wasn’t like I didn’t trust you. It’s.. it’s complicated.

“Normally, people on date always talk about their personal things to know more about each other. I know that. But I think...”, he halted. “I think I was just confused as to how I should treat you. I didn’t want you to feel bored with me. So, I always let you guide the talk; I only listened. I think it was because I was freaked out, dating a much younger girl.

“Do you.. do you understand?”, Yunho smiled sheepishly, unsure if his explanation was good enough.

Jiyeon broke into a wide grin. “Of course, I understand that.” Yunho heaved a sigh of relief. “That’s what I have been doing to you. Doing irrational things.. by acting cold to you. It’s.. silly, isn’t it?”.

Yunho smiled. “I guess it was all only a mere misunderstanding?”.

Jiyeon only replied with a smile.

“I thought you didn’t even like me.”

“And what made you think so?’.

“You keep that Jaejoong guy picture.”

Jiyeon’s smile faded hearing that. She lowered her head, setting her eyes upon the concrete ground again. “It’s not like I wanted to be secretive to you..” She paused. Yunho kept silent in order to let her know that she could go on with her story.

She looked up throwing a small, sad smile. “It’s just.. talking about him brings up sad memories.”

“Then don’t talk about it,” Yunho brought his hand up to caress her cheek. “I’m okay with only knowing you like me, too.”

She smiled upon knowing her boyfriend’s understanding, and then held Yunho’s hand that was on her cheek. “But I’m already determined to tell you. It’s only fair that way.”

She paused once more, looking down and then up, to gaze into Yunho’s eyes. She breathed out, smiling, “Jaejoong died because of leukemia.”

Yunho looked at her face in sympathy. He didn’t know why he couldn’t voice out his sympathy. Probably because he was afraid his voice would come out somewhat insincere.

“But it was already a long time ago,” Jiyeon said, a little cheerfully and grinned to loosen the tense atmosphere. “The reason why I still keep his picture is because I don’t want to forget about him. People only truly die when the people who were once close to them forget about them, right? So, I keep his picture in hope I wouldn’t forget about him and therefore, he could always live.” Jiyeon smiled brightly. “Are you okay with that?”.

Yunho smiled. “Why wouldn’t I be?”.

“Reeeaaaally?”, Jiyeon looked at him in playful suspicion.

“Of course,” Yunho pinched her cheek.

“Owh—it hurts!”, Jiyeon pretended to be in pain and hit his arm lightly. “Aaanndd you are also okay with the childish me? Aren’t you going to be ashamed having a girlfriend who is sometimes a child at heart like me?”.

“Why would I be? And when you’re so beautiful.”

Yunho’s comment had successfully made the girl before him blush and lowered her head again, shyly.

Yunho lifted her chin up and caressed her cheek with his thumb. “I’m okay with all of that. Because... that’s you.”

...and I love you for who you are.

The End.
