I can't sleep.

I envision you crying

And it makes me weep.

The pain you feel

My pain mirrors

And both pains are real.

The lump in my throat

Reveals more than my words.

I wish they were easier to emote.

When I can, I will try.

When the lump has dissolved,

If it's a day late, it's not a lie.

Timing is important.

Mistakes will be made.

They shall be flagrant.

But when all is said

And all is done,

Needing to clear our head,

We take a day of rest.

Maybe two or three.

Maybe this is the best.

When pain goes away,

We reconvene

And in the end, it's just a

Brand new day.
