Two is one too many. Two creates too many different possibilities and outcomes. There is a lot of danger that comes with two. Adding a third increases the chances of danger. It honestly makes Wendy's head hurt. Honestly, they came as two people in the middle of the night, dressed in dark clothes, with dark circles around their eyes, and looking unkempt. This hardly calls for a situation for two beds.
“Why are you so on edge?” Irene asks as she comes out of the bathroom with nothing but a t-shirt on that barely touches under her . She is drying her hair in the cheap towel and scowling as she does so. She hates the texture of the fabric. It is far from what she had before all this went down.
“I’m always on edge,” Wendy dryly responds.
Irene steps in front of Wendy, who has been standing in the middle of the room between the two twin sized beds. “But moreso at the moment,” Irene perceptively points out. She looks at Wendy with a crooked smile on her face. “What’s going on in that big brain of yours?” She slips a hand up her chest, feeling the lapel of her blazer until she rests comfortably on her shoulder. She gently squeezes the tense shoulder. When Wendy is too wrapped in her thoughts, Irene gently caresses her neck and cups it until her fingers can gently scratch at her hairline.
