✧ —–-- aurahq is an original character, mewe-based roleplay centered around a dating app that mixes modern dating with the technology of virtual reality to allow users to go on fantastical dates that they've only ever dreamed of, all while building strong emotional connections with others.

the app is launching with an experimental program where users will primarily interact with other users through the app's social media platform, with the addition of meet ups + dates in an array of virtual worlds. there will be small windows of time where they will be able to test their compatibility and chemistry in the physical realm until they ultimately find the person that they'd like to date completely offline.

besides dating, self-discovery will be a prominent theme, as every user will choose the aura color that best suits them. there will be plenty of opportunities for them to find out more about themselves and the other participants in the program through activities, events, challenges, and writing prompts.

this is an experimental program that will last for at least 4 weeks. all participants will be flown out to the city of guangzhou in china: a bustling metropolis that’s known for their night markets, breath-taking skyline, and its overall cyberpunk aesthetic.

the group will be staying in a total of four different towers within a resort in the city. there, each participant will have a hotel room all by themselves, and there will be full access to hotel amenities, as well as supervised off-property day trips into the city. with few exceptions, each participant will be expected to stay in their resort tower until they find their person.

an access key for the ‘aura’ app and a vr headset will be provided for everyone who has signed up for the experiment. these are both very important features, as most communication with other participants will be done via the app and through virtual reality worlds. beside the vr dates, participants are permitted to communicate through social media posts and instant messages. voice and video calls are strictly prohibited.

when it’s time for a session of dates to begin, every participant will have the chance to submit someone that they’d like to go on a virtual date with. matchmakers will use the input of the participants to create matches before the dates officially start.

during virtual dates, the participants will be able to choose from a variety of different worlds to explore; anything from futuristic cities, picturesque islands, and expansive rainforests. a customizable 3D model will be mirroring the motions that they’re doing in real life, and it will feel like they’re really there! the motion sensors from the vr headsets are high-tech in the way that they will be able to feel the wind in their hair, the sand in between their toes, and the warmth of their date if they choose to be affectionate with each other.

but the dates are not limited to vr. if both participants choose to meet IRL, they will be able to test the waters with each other in the physical realm for 24 hours. they will be transported to a suite where they will be able to chat, go on a date, or do anything else that they would like to do. the ultimate goal of this experience is for each participant to find someone that they would like to go completely offline with.

this experience is a celebration of love in all forms: romantic, platonic, and most importantly, self-love, as there will be ways that each participant will learn new things about themselves and the aura that they give off to the world.
