His Summon

[ INFINITE CLASS ]

"Hyung, are you sure about this?"

Even without the ability to see his brother's face on the other side of the line, Sungyeol could imagine the boy doing his usual nervous tick; him chewing his bottom lip and impatiently tapping his foot while one of his hand would grip the other arm so tightly that it left trail of unclipped nail marks on his supposedly fair and unblemished skin.

Sungjong was a worrywart like that.

He answers him with a chuckle.

"You know how it is, Jjongi. If I don't eliminate some monsters soon you and Umma won't have any money to buy food."

And God knows the rent was due too.

Pushing the wireless earbuds even deeper into his ears, Sungyeol uses the spring of his long legs to jump over some ambiguous, probably poisonous, purple goopy goop while simultaneously swatting away the remains of stubborn spider webs that stick to his auburn locks. It feels icky and as he dusts away at his pink hoodie to get rid of it, his mind is ever so helpful to remind him of the last time bug infestation terrorized him when he decided to tag along an unregistered dungeon-raid with some random guild-less losers down here.

Kind of like what he is doing right now, actually —

But kinda worse.

Gimme me a break, the thought itself is enough to jolt an array of self-induced PTSD as he paranoidly fixes the position of his crusty broadsword securely into his side. This time he's going to make sure on not losing his one and only weapon as he watches its weight buckle under the restraint of his hips. Though he admits, it was no secret that Sungyeol had zero clue on how to actually swing the damn thing.

There's a reason why I'm a [ Summoner ] and not a [ Knight ], he mused bittersweetly.

Sungyeol was then greeted by the sound of a scoff from the other side.

"But still," Sungjong whined. "I don't approve of you going alone! What if something bad happens? What if you trip on those long- legs of yours and cracks your head open?! No one's gonna know you're down there, Hyung! No one's gonna check on some unregistered chump without a guild like you —!"

"Ouch."

"— Besides! I still have some money from my part-time job. Me and Umma could still float by so trust us, Hyung. You can try the dungeon again when you actually have a guild to support you! Are you super duper sure that Sunggyu guy won't forgive you?"

The mere mention of that name immediately sourned Sungyeol's once amused expression.

He mimics a vomiting sound.

"That demon would rather Nam Woohyun's before he chooses to forgive me. Which means, not in a million years."

That boat and that guild has sailed far, far away to places where Sungyeol could never reach anymore. He admits, he got thrown out mainly because he's an idiot. But Kim Sunggyu, that devil incarnate that calls himself a [ Guild Leader ], wouldn't even listen to any of Sungyeol's explanations! It was a mistake, mind you! A total noobish-level of a mistake — but still an understandable type of mistake nonetheless!

He was innocent, really!

And yet the guild getting rampaged by monsters that he wrongly summoned said otherwise.

So Sungyeol got democratically voted out after that.

It was humiliating.

He grumbled audibly, roaming deeper into the crystal-filled, maze-like cavern, while bitterly shooing away the memory of the last guild that had accepted him for far longer than anyone else's did. It was cruel, he reminisced. He thought that he finally found it, his forever home. He thought the people there actually liked him enough to excuse him of any of his wrongdoing. He thought for sure that this is it, a place where people truly understood him.

A place where he was more than the fabled [ Black Hole ].

He thought wrong, of course.

Sungjong was saying something about how he should just man up and — scoff, God forbid, apologize to the devil himself, so he tuned out the know-it-all and actually began to pay attention to his surroundings, one gloved hand clutching the handle of his sword as he note the lack of life with mild interest at best and alarm bell ringing in his head at worse.

It's been a hot minute, he realized, looking around the glowy musty cavern with a twirl to his lanky body. Shouldn't the slimes at least attack me by now?

Frowning, Sungyeol found the uncertainty unnerving as he roamed even deeper to the admittedly darkening dungeon level, finding solace in Sungjong mindless chatters of "You're so irresponsible!" while his hand glides uncertainly to the cold and dust-filled surface of this hall. And before he could question himself, the air really did become heavier. Choking him of his rational thoughts as Sungyeol belatedly realizes how unfamiliar this part of the dungeon actually is —

And that … that can't possibly be right.

There's no way that I —

His eyes widen.

Could I?

Now alarmed, Sungyeol makes a quick 180 as he braces himself into the wall. He scrambles to snap his head up, down, left, and right. Frantically sniffing for any sign of familiarity but no matter how hard he looked, a flash of recognition never came across his mind. Everything is alien to him and that should have been impossible. He was absolutely certain that the corridor he slipped into was the usual D-rank route where a B-grade [ Summoner ] like himself could theoretically grind solo without much thought nor hindrance.

The low-level monsters here should have been abundant, he thought. And [ Player ] that wanted to grind like him even moreso.

So why …?

A click can be heard close to where he was standing. He saw the way it sends a myriad of webs full of cracks to the wall, to the floor — it even touches the roof as it climbs up and up and up and as rubbles begins to cake his hoodie yet again, the crystals that he thought was just the typical decor for the dungeon absolutely shatters and it pieces start to lodges itself to surround him.

His whole world shook.

The grounds quite literally crumble before him and as his feet lose their once stable footing —

He found that there was nothing for him to hold onto.

Sungyeol was actively falling.

"."

"Hyung?!"

It was dark even when Sungyeol opened his eyes.

Stiffening, shock enters his system as his joints scream at him for picking himself back up in a careless, frenzied manner. He probably kicked himself with his boots while his legs untangled themselves. He hops and hops and his balance is waning as the back of his head hits the oppressive wall of — wherever this is

Sungyeol huffs a steady air.

He looks around him.

But again, it was dark. It was hard for the summoner to make out anything that surrounds him. Nevertheless he squinted to his best ability and with much difficulty, he realized that he was cooped to the corner of some Roman-inspired altar that circles around several pillars that scraped far and high into the sky. He thought he wouldn't see the end of it. However, a couple of torches on the walls were suddenly alight with blue glow and illuminated enough for Sungyeol to notice that the roof curiously had a Sungyeol-shaped hole in the middle of it.

His mouth twitched a bit.

So I fell from there ….

Great, that's one problem solved. He knew where he came from. Nothing on where he is exactly. But that's at least something, he reckons.

This place was huge, though. Sungyeol starts to pick himself back up as he gingerly walks to the center of it, hands knocking on each pillar that he passes. It's like a stage that was meant for giants, he mused. Quite comparable to those final boss arenas that he could only witness on TV, where a group of S-grade heroes would gather around to beat the monstrosity and claim their superiority once and for all.

Something that Sungyeol is definitely not prepared for.

"Sungjong, hey," he tapped a shaky finger into his earbud. "Buddy are you there?"

Only crackles of leftover signal would greet him. The absence of Sunjong's voice is very much noticeable within the wide walls that surround him, and honestly? It disturbs him a bit.

Okay, a whole lot actually —

He was all alone now.

Shoot, shoot, shoot.

Sungyeol quickly swipes the open air as he summons his [ System ] — the holographic panel that holds his personal information — and soon enough, a glowing blue display floats before him, showing him his status and conditions before he feverishly clicks on his [ Social List ].

He was met with a loud [ ERROR ].

His hand froze in midair.

But he tried again.

[ ERROR ].

And again.

[ ERROR ].

And again.

[ ERROR ].

Sungyeol tried spamming the button a couple more times before screaming, jumping, pulling his hair, and wailing his fist uselessly into the sky.

He couldn't believe this.

"Stupid machine!"

In his frustration, he throws a knuckles sandwich straight into the [ System ], not realizing his fist could actually connect with it. The hologram-looking thing soon spasms into bright crackles of energy and Sungyeol, being the owner of it, could only stand there dumbfounded as light completely consumes his entire being.

He flinches, scampering to raise his hands waiting for the worse.

But then —

[ CONGRATULATIONS ]

The damn machine even provided a party popper sound bite.

[ YOU HAVE CLEARED AN SSS-RANK LEVEL DUNGEON ]

The .

[ RECEIVES YOUR REWARD? ]

[ > YES ]

[ > NO ]

Lowering his hands in utter bewilderment, Sungyeol was slow to pick up his fallen jaw before chewing on his bottom lips — the thing that he always makes fun of Sungjong for — and his doe eyes roam around him in wild, unadulterated, confusion. He tried to gauge whether this is some sort of prank or not because what in the absolute ?

He tries to close his eyes, begins to count to ten, and when he opens them again he expects it to be gone but nooo the two choices are still there. Even when he rubs his eyes, pinch his cheek, and heck, a good slap to the face —

It's still there.

"Holy ," he uttered.

What the hell does it even mean by an SSS-rank level dungeon? Sungyeol questions it all as he grabs a handful of his hair. Is there even such a thing as an SSS-rank level???

Even if it is no secret that an S-rank level could co-exists inside the public national [ Dungeon ], it is positively unthinkable for a regular [ Player ] like him to get anywhere near it. Especially with his [ Grade Level ].  A dungeon route would only open to an equal or greater grading level to a player [ Adventurer Status ], so for a B-grade [ Summoner ] such as himself, Sungyeol could only explore any cavern below and up to rank B.

Ergo

How the is he here in the triple S spectrum?! What do you mean he cleared this supposed-to-be non-existing dungeon? Where is he? When was this? Why him, exactly?!

And better yet —

HOW CAN HE POSSIBLY GET OUT OF HERE?!

Sungyeol wanted to yank on his hair again, but then he actually paid attention to the big red and flashing [ YES ] button on his gradually heating [ System ].

He really couldn't help but stare.

[ Receives your reward? ] it still asked of him.

A reward, huh?

His fingers twitched.

What kind of reward?

The reason Sungyeol was down here in the first place was to hunt for some monsters, claim them for the rewards, then go skadoodle. He needed the money. He needed them to feed himself and his family.

So if this reward is the supposedly SSS-rank level of reward ….

Sungyeol gulped.

His pointer hover over the [ YES ] button more resolutely.

By God he could foresee this biting him in the sooo badly.

But you know what?

it we ball.

Sungyeol was ready to close his eyes for some more dramatic light action, even flinching to raise his hands to cover his face after the fuss that he made over pushing one measly button. And yet far from his expectations, the screen just flickered into another tab, to another question he would never in a million years could ever be prepared for —

[ *#)b);!$* SUMMONER?+(/ ]

[ > hTjk£×/ vjsn711@/)$ ]

[ > ¥ @19#+=°¢ ]

[ > TrrR08(( Lv3_+Msss ]

What the hell.

He yanks his hair for sure now.

"Should have known this wouldn't be so easy!"

Sungyeol fights the urges to punch the damn machine again, and for once, he wished Sungjong was here just so he could throw the responsibility of being wrong to somebody else.

Or maybe I just really needed someone right now.

Biting his lips, his eyes start to swipes to each option up and down, up and down, up and down — it only resulted in his eyes swirling uncontrollably until he saw stars. It was no use though. He couldn't come close to understanding any of it and he was starting to lose hope.

Should he just leave it all to luck?

It's not like he has anything to lose ….

I mean, I'm still stuck here regardless. I need to do something, right?

These odd choices tempted him.

He could hear Sungjong belittling him.

Even Sunggyu was there in his mind's eye, his ex-Leader calling him an idiot for even considering this.

Yet Dongwoo, Sunggyu's right hand man and the only guy that he still likes in that godforsaken guild, would probably support him, though. He's just weird like that.

But Sungyeol is getting sidetracked.

I'm actually gonna do this.

With eyes closed.

Palm raised up.

He imagined an eeny, meeny, please be money mo —

And he clicked.

Sungyeol psyche himself up to finally take a peek over the options. Noticing the flickering on the third one, he waits with bated breath for something to happen. For something good and for it to suddenly fall from the sky.

Maybe a light show again? He anticipated giddily as he looked around him. Something dramatic for the SSS-rank reward, he thinks.

And yet, all he saw was his [ System ] booting up to the list of [ Summons ] that he had befriended recently.

A notification bell soon chimed.

[ REWARD ACCEPTED ]
[ NEW SUMMON ADDED ]

[ L ]

Sungyeol furrows his eyebrows over this.

He clicks on the new and unfamiliar name, finding it even more perplexing when there's no further information on the creature unlike how it usually is when he confirms a bond with a [ Summon ]. Beside the odd scribble of a flipped 8 under the creature's name, there is nothing else that could hint at the kind of [ Summon ] this creature would be.

It sends shivers to the summoner's spine.

No way, his eyes widened, could it be a legendary monster?!

Despite himself, Sungyeol couldn't control his childlike curiosity. His mind is now running with so many possibilities —

It is an SSS-rank reward, right?

It wasn't money, he tried to rationalize. But it could be a dragon!

While it is true that there is a teeny tiny drop of disappointment at the thought of not getting a penny richer even after falling into some desolate hellhole in the middle of nowhere, Sungyeol doesn't have it in himself to care. For God's sake he was a [ Summoner ] because he loves cool and badass like this! He lives for these rare and magical creatures and he'll do anything to get them.

So if he could get his hand on his very own final boss  ….

Well, what am I waiting for then?

Bursting with a giddy yahoo! Sungyeol raises his hand to the sky, activating his [ System ] in a rehearsed manner while blue light begins to bubble up and engulf him.

He did the usual summoning chants.

"O creatures by the name of [ L ], as your [ Master ] I summon thee to come beside me here and now!"

This time the light show actually did come, but it came even more dramatically than even he anticipated. Unlike the usual summon of washing away his surroundings to a bright pure white — the blue of his magic would instead circle the area in front of him, making a whirlwind of tiny lights before solidifying into a beautiful explosion of every color under the sun.

It was mesmerizing.

And Sungyeol couldn't help but to stand there and gawk, watching the colorful sparkle twinkles around him like a thousand fireflies shining to life.

But it wasn't the sparkles that took his breath away.

It was a man.

The light would shimmers down to reveal a man with beauty so unimaginable, so inconceivable, that it hurts. It hurts for Sungyeol to look at him. And yet he still floats there ever so gently, his feet bare with only a sliver of his neck and face uncovered by the silky material of his long sleeved shirt and trousers. They were black in color. It gave the summoner a painful tease of his contrasting milky skin, of how soft they looked as they glowed under the harsh inkyness of his clothes and the fragile framing of his raven hair.

And speaking of glowing — his face. Oh my God, his face. Like an angel descending from above, his delicate eyes are shut tight as long lashes dust his rosy cheeks so prettily; it took everything in Sungyeol powers to not even think about touching it. To not even entertain the idea of cupping that puffy cheeks close to that sharp nose while a cute parted lips was there with its cherry color shaped like a cupid bow until Sungyeol began to wonders if that exactly how the stranger would taste like —

And then the man opens his eyes.

Holy .

A shock of electric blue stares into Sungyeol's coffee brown. It was so startling that he didn't realize the beautiful man was no longer floating. His bare feet had touched the ground though he looked troubled. His posture is waning and his legs are shaky.

It was as if he'd never used them to stand before.

The man started to reach for Sungyeol. His limbs are weak, and his body trembles, but those blue eyes never once falter to hold the summoner's gaze. And Sungyeol saw the way he makes a face, seemingly determined to come close to the other man with his hand outstretched for Sungyeol to took —

Yet he stumbles on his own feet.

"Careful!"

Finally instinct kicked in and Sungyeol remembered he could actually move his body. He catches the strange beauty in his arms, feeling cool while doing so but later realizing he's also a clutz — hence how they both ended up sprawled on the ground with Sungyeol making sure the man was secure on his lap and squeezed tight into his hug.

Maybe a little too tight honestly.

But hey, who is he to deny a good opportunity?

Now he was truly face to face with those startling blue eyes.

If looking at him hurt before, up close like this is just a personal attack, Sungyeol mused a bit pathetically, completely admitting to be taken by the absolute beauty in front of him. But fortunately for him, the beauty seems to be as taken to him as he is of him — their eyes never once leaving each other's sight with hints of wonder seemingly twinkling in those intoxicating blue of his.

He watches with a fluster when that pretty head lulled to the crook of his neck, even snuggling deeper into him as he raised a curious hand to ghost over Sungyeol's cheek.

It stopped before it could make any contact.

Why is that?

Their eyes connect again and Sungyeol realizes the man seems unsure, biting his lips and looking up at Sungyeol with so much emotion the summoner isn't even sure where to begin.

So he tilted his head close to that hand, letting the man cup his cheek as he held the two of them near to his heart.

It's okay, he wanted to say.

The beauty seems to get the hint.

At last those long fingers began to leave cold traces of butterfly kisses into Sungyeol's skin. He studied him closely, his touch careful as he pressed them below his eyes, to his nose, even playing with his cheeks, before falling down to tap his lips.

It all feels so innocent.

That is, before the man choked him.

"Explain," he demanded, his voice low but lacking in emotion as he put even more pressure on the poor summoner's neck. "Explain before I snap you like a twig."

Sungyeol's eyes flash in a panic.

"Explain what exactly?!"

The blue that charmed him so much abruptly turns into a black void. And as wind begins to pick up around them, Sungyeol wonders if he imagined the temperature dropping while the man's eyes become an abyss that Sungyeol can't possibly look away from.

Though this time it was more because he was pinned in a chokehold instead of being a love struck fool.

"S-Stop …!" Sungyeol starts to gasp for breath, clawing at the man's hands. "I said [ STOP ] dammit!"

And surprisingly enough, he obliged.

The shock was evident in both of their faces.

Too short sighted to think about what the hell just happened, Sungyeol took the opportunity to immediately scrambled far, far away as he pushed the now dangerous individual off his lap. His breath was haggard from scampering backwards so frantically, his back touching one of the pillars as he eyed the beautiful stranger fearfully.

But the man was too shell shocked to pay attention to any of it.

They are stuck in a staring match again.

Then those black eyes glared at him.

"I should have known to not underestimate someone that could kidnap me."

Sungyeol spluttered incoherently.

"KIDNAP?!"

But the man won't listen, he mutters something under his lips and as his fingers swipes so elegantly into the air — it compelled Sungyeol to follow every inch of his movements, watching those long lashes dust that puffy cheeks in morbid fascination before alarming him to the numerous tabs of gold colored [ System ] that encircle the man from front and back.

He saw the crackles of energy that struck the man first before the weapon that materialized and Sungyeol belatedly realizes that this guy must be a [ Dark Knight ]. An evolved and improved version of a regular [ Knight ] with twice the power and triple the mean looking sword.

And he could summon a mean looking sword alright.

He strikes them towards Sungyeol.

"W-WAIT!" The summoner flails his hands in hysterics. "I SAID [ WAIT ] —!"

And like last time, he did wait. His hands paused in mid air before he could swing the scary looking black granite of a claymore in its full encompassing glory.

The man is starting to look very annoyed.

"Stop puppeting me, Mage!"

"I'm not — GWAH?!" He jumped out of a deadly strike. "Puppeting —!" He dodged a slice with a roll to his body, "YOU!"

The last strike was met with his own sword.

They eyed each other warily.

"And just so you know, I'm not a Mage!" He huffed in frustration. "Ever heard of a Summoner before —? HUWA?!"

Their swords clashed again and the man snorted, his face distorted into an ugly snears as he pushed Sungyeol against another pillar.

"A Summoner couldn't do this," he gives a particularly harsh jab. "They are weak. They could only hide behind their little pets —" his claymore broke the pillar when his target dodged, and the man raised his head, giving Sungyeol a heated glare as he did so. "They are cowards. Power hungry. Backstabber!"

Okay, Sungyeol thought. That just sounds awfully personal —?

He ducks a really close swing when he feel it.

A painful clench to his heart.

"Hurgh?!"

Sungyeol staggers backwards, his back finding the broken pillar until he can't stand anymore, letting his body fall as he slides on its surface to huff desperately on the ground.

The man seemed shocked by this.

"Oh my God, are you okay?!"

He ran to Sungyeol's side, the mean looking claymore immediately dematerialized and curiously enough, Sungyeol notes those eyes came back to brilliant blue again.

Despite the pain, he couldn't help but laugh.

"You … you really need to pick a personality. You know that, right …?"

The man looked embarrassed.

"I was just — I was just trying to scare you! I didn't mean to — I mean … I don't really want to hurt you!" He continues to touch Sungyeol's cheek gingerly, fussing over the summoner as he kneels beside him.

Looking at him like this, Sungyeol can't help but be fond, "I know that already."

"Huh?" The man looked taken aback.

"You … you're afraid …," Sungyeol fixes his sitting position, taking that trembling hand into his own and giving it a light squeeze. "You're so afraid it's ridiculous. I could feel it. From the moment you opened your eyes … even now — you're scared."

That blue widened a little until he looked down at their intertwined fingers, face flushed before connecting his eyes to the summoner's coffee brown again.

"How?" He bites his lips. "How do I feel connected to you too?"

"I'm a Summoner," Sungyeol put the beauty's palm close to his heart. "And you appear before me."

So he waits for the other to connect the dots.

For his summon to realize it.

The look of horror was something that Sungyeol felt for himself.

"No …!" He shook his head, panic evident on his pretty face before Sungyeol captured it, cupping him at his cheeks so the man would stay still and look at him.

"I know you're scared. Heck, your pain is the reason why I'm here, clutching at my chest like this … it's like I couldn't breathe and that's how you feel right now, yeah?" Sungyeol stares into that intoxicating blue, admiring them until he notices them shine with unshed tears. He panicked. "I mean — what I wanna say is —! By the sound of it you already had a bad experience with a Summoner so I just wanna assure you that I … that I swear I won't hurt you. I don't want to hurt you too —! So don't cry! Please? I'm sorry, okay?!"

God, he's so bad at comforting people.

And Sungyeol still isn't sure what any of this means, mind you. On the outside he may appear calm, but on the inside he abso-ing-dutely losing his mind — How could a human be a [ Summon ]?! That is practically unheard of! It definitely broke the Geneva Convention, that's for sure! And Sungyeol feels icky even thinking about it. Any moment now the [ Higher Force ] would arrest him for slavery or something. It's possible. It could happen. It drives him nuts.

To rewind a bit, he did notice their connection the moment the man opened his striking blue eyes. He couldn't lie about that even though at the time he was in deep denial for summoning something that looks so … human, and is human! Sungyeol wants to deny the connection, to deny the way he could read the other's emotion like an open book so badly; but the moment he realizes he could control the man's action with some throwaway lines like how his summon would usually react — that does it, he thought. That is what solidifies his nightmare.

This man is his summon. Sungyeol summoned him.

And now he was hiccuping in his arms, holding back his tears as his feeling of confusion crashed into Sungyeol like persistent, guilt churning, tidal waves.

"Look, I really am sorry," he let go of those puffy cheeks and scratched his own. "Should I just cancel the summon? It was a mistake, I swear! I think my system glitched — if I cancel it maybe then my system would right itself and bring you back to where you belong …?"

Cause God knows I wasn't even supposed to get this so-called "reward".

It was his stupid temper and his stupid fist.

But the man's outburst surprised him.

"DON'T!" He clutched into Sungyeol's hands. "Please don't! I don't want to fall asleep again —!"

"What?" Sungyeol blinked.

That blue began to plead.

"To be honest … I'm still unsure about you. I want to not trust you — But you …! You are just … you are just so warm …."

He intertwined their fingers again and his eyes softened.

His look makes Sungyeol a bit breathless —

But then that overwhelming sadness crashed into him like before and their eyes connected, those blue are now judging him, trying to make a decision while Sungyeol could only watch. He was nervous, he realized he didn't want to let go of this man anymore so unconsciously his grip tightened.

This seems to be the push that he needed.

"Do you … mean it?" He spoke up.

"Mean what?" Sungyeol whispered.

Their faces are now mere inches of each other.

He looked down, "That you won't hurt me …?"

"I won't." And I've never been so sure before.

His gaze is now a bit pointed. "Are you really?"

"Really really." Sungyeol met him head on.

"Really really really?"

"Really really really really."

"Then do you promise you won't leave me?" He suddenly changed the question, their foreheads touching. "Even when I did something bad …?"

That makes Sungyeol paused.

He remembers wishing the same thing, for people to just stay; to not leave him for once in their life. He wanted them here. Beside him. Through his happiness, his success, and especially his mistakes. And yet he always gets left behind. Thrown aside. He was nobody's first choice. People gave up on him — like his father, his so-called friends, and so many of his guildmates ….

A [ Black Hole ], that's what they called him.

Well, I'm sick of it.

So he smiled.

Sungyeol puts his biggest, widest and sincerest smile to this lonely man that mirrored him.

"If you have me," he vowed. "I want to stay as long as you want me."

"Okay," the man replied so quietly, his tears glistening. "I believe you."

And he closed his eyes. Sungyeol gasped when the blue of his [ System ] suddenly went haywire, appearing without his command and flickering like crazy to surround him — to surround them. It bubbled and enlarged to make a dome, encapsulating the two in a blue glowing force field.

By now Sungyeol openly gaped.

"What the hell?!"

Then a roar could be heard. A smaller display appears close to Sungyeol flashing into red with the word [ ERROR ], [ DANGER ], and [ UNIDENTIFIED CREATURES ] alarming him to his core.

Right now the ground even shakes.

"Lee Sungyeol-ssi."

"Huh?!" He snaps his attention back to the man.

"Lee Sungyeol-ssi, right?" Those blue eyes are back open with a twinkle of amusement in them. "23 years old. A B-grade Summoner without affiliations to any guild. Currently has zero points in his bank account?"

"Dude?!" Sungyeol gawked. "Did you hack into my system?!"

He almost answered the question before another roar cut him off.

Sungyeol is officially freaked out.

"What was that?!"

"My guardian," the man looked a bit miffed. "The system finally realized you bypassed my seal and are now trying to stop you from taking me."

At that point he was just talking in a foreign language because what???

Sungyeol tried to rack his brain around it. "Are you saying that this guy is like … the final boss of this stage or something?"

He was met with a furrowed eyebrows.

"What are you talking about? I'm the final boss here."

"WHAT?!"

Before Sungyeol could process any of that, the man suddenly lifted him into a bridal style, carrying him onto his lap like a complete 180 to the time they first interacted. Looking up, he realized how the blue glowing dome around them was starting to crackles with energy before a stomp! captured his attention.

The man doesn't seem all that bothered.

He adjusted Sungyeol's weight with a delicacy that no one had ever graced him with.

"Summoners like you can't fight, right?" Those eyes are back to their twinkles. "So let's get out of here before they catch onto us."

And soon enough a wave of happiness struck Sungyeol with a double-whammy of the cutest dimpled smiles that he ever witnessed in his short life.

He felt his brain turn to jelly.

Then his world is awash to white.

A/N: It took 3k words of exposition before MyungYeol finally met. I hope it's worth it (。•́︿•̀。)

On that note, thank you everyone that clicked on this story and subscribed! This is my first time ever posting here and it's been a while since I've written. Getting almost a 100 view from the summary alone without a single chapter makes me so embarrassed, I should have posted sooner ಥ‿ಥ

This is why you shouldn't overestimate yourself thinking that your chapter is already done when it's not ….

Anyway, a bit of a fun fact: Myungsoo's appearance here is based on his 2016 new year's eve concert look. Like whoa, doesn't he look ethereal?

I think the next chapter is gonna be more slice of life-y. Just MyungYeol bonding and hooopefully they meet the other Infinite members. I am most excited to write Woohyun, ngl. He'll be such a menace in this world ヾ(˙❥˙)ノ

Thanks for reading! Let's meet again in the next chapter!

Can you guess the other members' RPG class in this fic?
