Jihyo stood still with an unreadable expression planted on her face while her thoughts were running nonstop and clashing all together with her emotions combining, but one thing is for certain and that is she was hurt, everything hurts. Her breathing becomes uneven as she feels her eyes that once looked at him with admiration, curiosity, longing, love, and pain starts to water, she gently shook her head

Their friend and he thought she was tearing up because she was happy, as they all knew that the feelings were mutual so they expected the ending already. But they were stunned when they finally heard her answer

Barely hearing her voice he thought he heard wrong but  she repeated it finally looking at him

She was surprised with herself, with her tone filled with certainty that it scared her.
She was about to go with all the courage and rationality that she has left before actually breaking down. 

But he held her hand. 
Once she felt the warmth, the touch she longed for just to remind her that she exist, that she is loved. The water filled with pain finally dropped

"What? Why, why are you crying?"

 If you even liked and cared for me you should have known that I preferred this kind of step you're taking to be just between us two and not in front of everyone to see, but of course, you wouldn't know."
