Prologue

The chilly autumn air gusted around him, blowing his dark hair around his eyes.  He reached a hand up to push it back, still gazing at the picture grasped in his hand.  It was a photo of a young man with light brown hair, smiling at the camera.  He seemed to be a refreshing, overall happy person.  
“Lee Donghae.” a voice said, startling the man out of his reverie.  
“Sorry, sir.  I’ll listen.” Donghae murmured, tucking the photo back into the folder he held.  His elder smiled slightly, reaching an arm out to clasp Donghae heartily on the shoulder.  
“Good boy.  I know you’ll do a good job, hmm?” he smiled, brilliant white wings rustling as he stood.  
Donghae nodded vigorously, a small smile gracing his features.  “Yes, Samael.  I understand.  I hope his luck improves after I’ve been there for a while.”  he chirped, beaming up at his superior.  With that, he spread his dusky wings and jumped.
