Chapter 1
Karma Butterfly"Jess, wake up." A loud, obnoxious voice woke Jessica up from the sweet dream she just had.
"Go away!" Jessica mumbled , not really awake yet but sleepiness was drifting away from her body everytime her sister banged on the door leading to her room. Damn, why younger sisters were always so annoying?
Angrily Jessica glanced at the alarm clock, neon red numbers giving her a headache.
9:35 AM is way too early to wake up on a Sunday morning. Nothing usually happened around there, just the mail man delivering letters.
Wait a minute. The letters! It meant that the letter had already arrived!
"From the silence that comes from your room I can assume that you remembered that mailman already arrived. " Krystal said, proud tone of victory clearly audible in her voice.
" Don't worry, the letter is on the table basically untouched if you exclude the mailman's DNA." A short laughter followed , small thuds echoing in the house as Krystal left Jessica in peace.
Well, not really in peace as excitement rushed through her body. Hurriedly Jessica got ready, making a record of fastest person to get ready, basically speedrunning the whole process in 15 minutes.
When Jessica ran downstairs Krystal was already having her bowl of cereal.
" That sure was fast." Krystal commented while slurping on the milk. That would usually disgust Jessica to the core but now she was too excited to give a single care about it.
"And Tiffany is coming to visit in 5 minutes!" She added.
It went past Jessica's ears as she saw it.
There it was. Dressed in a light blue envelope was a letter from a certain person. Who that person was, Jessica didn't have a single clue. They have been exchanging letters for few years now , not revealing their true identities. From Jessica's point of view it was better to stay hidden. If the other person would find out that they were talking with Ice princess of the SM high school, chaos would ensue
It all started when Ms. Kim, their English teacher suggested that they find a writing buddy. Someone they could write letters for , getting to know each other better and flourish their English skills.
At first Jessica scoffed at the idea. Writing letters in the age of technology was so past century.
But, when the first letter dropped on her table, curiosity switched to happiness as her eyes moved over scribbled words, handwriting was so unique.
And the content of the letter! Nobody has ever written something so beautiful to Jessica, so sincere.
It was surprise to Jessica herself when she finished writing a letter back.
So it continued for years, both of them developing a special bond while knowing nothing about each other. Everytime Jessica read the letter, it felt like she was talking to a longtime friend.
This time was no exception. A smile bloomed
