1023 LettersHi Ningning,
I wrote about hope in my last letter. I know you haven't read it yet. My fault for not showing up again on the doors of the post office.
I'd like to think of hope as a double-edged sword. Yet it kills the soul just the same. The hope of the protagonist to defy all odds despite of the uneven circumstances should certainly deliver them to their impending doom yet they keep fighting because of the four letter word. Obviously they win in the end but come reality, who wins and who lose? How strong of a force is hope when all the odds are against you and fighting a fair game guarantees a losing chance in the end?
So this is it. I've come to accept that no matter the answer, whether you accepted or rejected my letter, I am and will lose at the end. The only question is whose hands would be responsible for my pre-determined fate.
