Chapter 2
The Bunker Boyz
In a nearby city, a shrill, nagging voice could be heard as two people were walking alone together. SLAP! “Chanhee, what the heck?!” an angry journalist shouted. “You keep ignoring me! I asked you where my camera is, Changmin!” the equally annoyed Chanhee yelled back. Changmin rolled his eyes as he continued forward. He was suddenly hit in the back of the head by a large satchel. Whipping himself around, he strode over and harshly grabbed the collar of his friend. “The camera doesn’t matter. We need to get somewhere safe before we get attacked again. Plus, it was because of your stupid camera that we’re in this predicament in the first place!” Changmin spat out.
Chanhee didn’t waver, and his eyes burned with rage. “Stupid camera? Stupid CAMERA?! That camera is my LIFE! I can’t get another one like it!” Changmin scoffed and pushed Chanhee backward so hard that he fell back onto the ground. “Our actual lives are more important,” Changmin stated while turning away from Chanhee to move on. Still upset and wanting answers, Chanhee decided to try to knock some sense into the stubborn Changmin. Getting to his feet, Chanhee rushed over and yanked Changmin’s shoulder back with one hand while punching him square in the jaw with the other. The journalist slowly shrank down to his knees in minor pain and looked up at Chanhee who gave him an undermining expression expectant of an answer.
Changmin looked away, “You don’t know when to give up…” When he stood up again, he clenched Chanhee’s collar again and was ready to punch him when they heard something. “Not again…” Chanhee’s voice cracked as they both turned their attention to the source. Multiple running zombies could be seen headed their way.
“Come on. COME ON!” Changmin ordered as they both scrambled in the direction of a large concrete building. They got closer and closer to it when Chanhee tripped, falling on his face. Changmin hadn’t seen what had happened and was already in the building by the time he turned back. “Chanhee! Get up!” Changmin yelled desperately as the zombies closed in. Unfortunately, the zombies were too close by the time Chanhee was up and limping as fast as he could. Changmin knew the zombies would overtake his friend in a matter of minutes, and they would both be zombies.
Not wanting to face the odds, Changmin shut and bolted the thick glass door to the building much to Chanhee’s horror. “What are you doing?! OPEN THE DOOR! OPEN THE DOOR! CHANGMIN!!!” Chanhee pounded on the door to no avail. Changmin had to look away as the zombies all stumbled over Chanhee and started biting. When Changmin had the nerve to see the damage, he felt a mix of guilt and relief. With lifeless pink eyes and silver skin characteristic of zombies, Chanhee now stared carelessly at him through the glass.
Pulling off his backpack, Changmin reached in and took out Chanhee’s camera which was placed on the ground in front of the door. “You won’t need it anymore,” Changmin said silently. Heading into the building, he hoped he would never have to get into a scrap with zombie Chanhee.
...Author Notes...
Q and New are known to be best friends. I went on a rant when making up different scenarios in the story, and this was one of them. They do playfully hit each other a lot, and New has understandably gotten upset about his things being ruined which is probably where this bit came from.
