Loving someone isn't like movies. It's not as sweet as they make it out to be. It's not like a piece of chocolate that just keeps melting in your mouth.

Loving someone is exposing your vulnerabilities to them. Expecting that they'll finally look at you the way you look at them. There is no guarantee that you'll get your happy ending

"No one will ever love me" Eunbi mumbles hugging her knees ranting about how her girlfriend broke up with her

"You think I'll ever find my soulmate that'll love me" Hyewon stops wiping the tears of the older girl. She remains silent gently caressing the small daisy on her arm. Her soulmate mark.

"Loving ain't easy. The possibilities of you marrying your first love are really low. It takes time to expose yourself to that one person whom you really love" Hyewon smiles bitterly and ofcourse Eunbi doesn't notice it

"Love isn't a feeling you have to force on yourself. It won't come if you're always waiting for it. It...it just happens one day and that day you start seeing that person differently" Hyewon mutters wiping the rest of her tears before standing up

A tug on her hand stops her, looking behind she sees Eunbi's hand clenching her shirt exposing her bare should a little that makes her panic

"I just want to know if I stop looking for my soulmate will they fall in love with me and find me" Eunbi asks with a spark in her eyes. The younger girl really feels bad for her best friend. Her friend that has been a hopeless romantic since she was little. Her friend who is always optimistic about love

"I'll tell you one thing....the one you love can turn out to be your soulmate but your soulmate can't be your lover not when you don't see them like that" Hyewon let's go of Eunbi's hand making her way out of the room 

She checks herself in the mirror making sure her shirt didn't slip past away the black daisy on her shoulder blade. She buttons up her fannel to make sure the same thing doesn't happen again, off she goes to get a large tub of ice cream for her heart broken s̶o̶u̶l̶m̶a̶t̶e̶ best friend

"Stop hurting over that piece of now look I got these for you" Hyewon shoves a plastic bag filled with her favorite snacks on her lap rolling her eyes "As expected from my tsundere"

Calling me yours,this ain't good for me

"Yeah yeah eat those and stop crying your face looks puffy" Eunbi pouts allowing Hyewon to wipe her tears "Watch movies with me" Eunbi demands hugging the tv remote like a child

"Do I really have to?" Hyewon asks looking away "Yes,it's my order" Eunbi says cutely resting her hand on her hips "Fine...." The brunette girl accepts her defeat throwing her hands in the air "Lift me now" Hyewon sighs wrapping her arms around her waist lifting her up as the older girl wraps her arms around her neck staring right into her soul

"Stop staring I'll think you fell in love with me" Hyewon smirks earning a giggle from the shorter brunette girl "I mean if you weren't my best friend and looked like this I might have fallen for you" Eunbi slaps her chest slightly giggling

Hyewon just smiles hiding the pain behind her eyes that can hide her pain from anyone... anyone except her

Halfway through the second movie Hyewon finds herself staring at her sleeping best friend who was a little too comfortable sleeping on her shoulder

She quietly pulled her placing a pillow underneath her head before placing her head gently on the pillow,hands subconsciously moving to caress her face 

She tries to get up when the older girl wraps her arms around her neck placing a kiss on her cheeks "Thanks for always taking care of me hyewonie you know that I love you right" Eunbi mumbles with her eyes closed 

"I know Eun" Hyewon whispers "Stay with me for some more time please" Hyewon just nods allowing the older girl to burry herself in her arms as she hugs her until she falls back asleep

We both know there is a huge difference in the way you mean it

"She broke up with her I'm thinking if you feel happy or sad" Hyewon rolls her eyes closing her locker "I don't see a reason to be happy" Hyewon replies looking at her "I told you you can drop this act of yours when I'm around I know that there is a new hope in your heart now" Hyewon hates how she can see right through her like she is some sort of glass

"I can say the same for you, you had hope when she was with that girl, isn't your heart broken too" Hyewon smiles to herself thinking she had a good comeback "Love is like that you'll easily sacrifice your own happiness for someone else we're on the same boat" The girl whispers walking away, allowing Hyewon to crumble the piece of paper the girl slipped in her hand

Eunbi sat down on the bleachers catching her breath after a tough routine. From a distance she sees a family girl making her way towards her

"Here comes the girlfriend" Lisa laughs pointing towards Hyewon who waves at her "She is not my girlfriend,just my best friend" Eunbi shruggs standing up when Hyewon finally gets near her

"I got your favorite lemon drink" Hyewon waves the pack of bottles in the air with a smile handing it over to Eunbi who just smiles in return "Ugh so much sweat" Eunbi eyes follow Hyewon who wipes sweat from her face and neck carefully, a smile appearing on her lips

"You don't have to take care of me like this" Eunbi mutters ignoring the stares they are getting from the rest of squad "If I wouldn't then who would? Oh I almost forgot I copied notes of the classes you missed because of practice, I'll give them to you on our way home" Hyewon says stepping away from the older girl who keeps staring at her

"I owe you so I'll treat you with your favorite malatang" Eunbi presses her lips on her cheeks for a moment before pulling away as the you get girl just disgustingly wipes her cheeks before walking away

"She takes care of you like she is your girlfriend" Lisa speaks looking at the fading figure of Hyewon "She is just my best friend nothing more nothing less" Eunbi wonders why does she feel sudden pain in her arm when those words leave but she ignores the signs again

Hyewon blames the clingy nature of Eunbi for making her like this. She hates her touch but when that touch isn't there she craves it more than anything

Best friends don't hug all the time. Best friends don't hold each other like that all the time. Best friends don't cuddle together. Best friends don't look each other in eyes like they do

"Hyewon you play piano beautifully" Eunbi compliments the younger girl with her back pressed against her,eyes closed fully immersed in the beauty of keys "You think so" Hyewon giggles fingers brushing past through keys

"Beautiful just like you" Eunbi mumbles grabbing the guitar from the corner "I want to play it just like you" She whispers turning around, wrapping her arms around her waist eyes lingering on the fingers of the younger girl

Eunbi is thankful that she got someone like Hyewon by her side. Her best friend. She feels proud whenever she introduces Hyewon as her best friend. People would probably die to have a best friend like her

Her best friend who didn't care if it was a rain storm that night and helped the stranger that was herself when she missed the last bus. The next day when she searched for the girl to help her she found out that the girl was absent because she was ill

Her best friend who taught her so much about love. Her best friend who was always there when her great was broken. But all was to her was her best friend

"You talk so much about love makes me wonder if you ever fell in love" Eunbi questions enjoying the tune that Hyewon is playing. Hyewon stops. Her eyes lingering on the rain droplets on the window of her music room

"Falling in love is a fate that I'll never dream of"

Eunbi thought it was sad but she didn't say anything to the girl and wrapped her arms around her even more tightly closing her eyes. Ignoring the shine in her daisy just like always

It's a bit overwhelming isn't it when all of a sudden you see a person differently. That's when the magic happens. That's the moment you'll start to notice the smallest details about that person

Details like how Eunbi pouts a lot. Details like how Eunbi's gummy smile is the most precious thing in the world. Details like how Eunbi loves to cuddle to sleep

Hyewon didn't knew when she fell in love with her s̶o̶u̶l̶m̶a̶t̶e̶ best friend. It just happened and one day she started to adore Eunbi so much that she would even move mountains for her

Hyewon is strong that's what Eunbi thinks. She doesn't want to disappoint her. Hyewon is not strong. She just masks her cowardness behind her cold exterior

Hyewon makes an annoyed face as Eunbi keeps rubbing her cheeks against her "Tell me" Hyewon sighs. Years of living with the older girl have made her attentive about everything she does. Eunbi must be feeling really happy

"Umm I told you some weeks ago that I had a crush on the new student in cheer squad" Hyewon felt a small tug on her chest as she kept walking with Eunbi a little bit too comfortable on her back

"She asked me to got out with her" Hyewon just nodded finally putting down Eunbi "Don't mess it up" The younger girl could only mutter out some words as her eyes followed the stars in the sky

"You know if it was you instead of me, I would think you're using me" Eunbi mutters out hands caressing her hair "I don't mind if using me is going to mean that you're finally going to be happy I am happy to be used by you"

"When did your words started to sound sad?" Eunbi asks staring right into her eyes "They are not sad they are just the truth people try to run away from" Hyewon smiled as her eyes were fixed on a fallen star

"You know I have given up on looking for my soulmate" Eunbi speaks all of a sudden "Any reason" Hyewon asks "Not everyone has a soulmate and it turns out I have one that I don't even know I don't want to fall in love with someone who I barely know...I want a person who knows everything about me....just like you" Hyewon opens her eyes sitting abruptly from hearing the older girl words

"Me" She asks "I really want to fall in love with someone who is like you and feels like you"

Why someone like me when you have me

Rejection scares her.It hurts. It brings pain. She isn't ready to face all that. She isn't ready for her tears to fall. She would probably just fall into self destructive mode. She can only think of two possibilities.

In both of them she ends of blaming herself. Asking herself if she wasn't good enough. Or asking herself why did she cross the line. She can handle the pain of her friend being forever. But can't handle the pain of losing her forever

"She confuses me sometimes" Hyewon mumbles leaning against the wall of the terrace "This is definitely new coming from you" The short haired girl giggles giving her the remaining bottle of soju

"I'm fine with being friends....I'm okay with this pain then why she gives me some signs....like it's not someone else she is in love with...it's me...just like when I laugh I look at her she looks at me too....I stare at her...she stares at me too....is she giving me false hope"

"I feel like you just started a fire in my heart by saying all that, you getting your hopes up means you are crushing my hopes too" The short haired girl chuckles

"Stupid aren't I" Hyewon chuckles taking another sip from her almost empty bottle of soju "We both are" The short haired girl mumbles throwing her empty bottle away

"I hate the fact you know me so well" Hyewon mumbles placing her empty bottle beside her "I hate the fact that you hate the fact that I know you so well" She chuckles looking up to see the black clouds "You know what I'm gonna tell her" Hyewon knows she is not sober enough for this yet she takes out her phone

Luckily Eunbi's caller id shows up on her phone

"Eun I have something to tell you"

"Hye I have something to tell you"

"You go first"

"You go first"

"I'm in love with Chaeyeon"

"I'm in love with.....oh congrats"

Hyewon looks the girl who just looks at her with pity in her eyes. Arms ready to engulf the brunette girl in her arms

"I kept all your advices in my head, everything you told me,we started dating a year ago and I just realized I love her when I saw her sleeping beside me" Hyewon knows her can't breakdown now so she clenches her fists holding back her tears

"I...am so happy for you Eun,you finally found true love" Hyewon giggles, giggles at her miserable self

"You also wanted to tell me something" Eunbi asks form the other side "You...said you wanted to learn piano from me, I'll teach you but teach me guitar first....please" Hyewon let's herself fall in the embrace of the girl who wastes no second in wrapping her arms around her trembling body

"Don't worry I'll teach you"

"Your favorite one"

That night Hyewon cried in her arms for the first time, drowning the girl in her vulnerabilities. Revealing everything she has kept hidden her entire life

Hyewon knows she is already starting being replaced when Eunbi doesn't call her often. When they cancel their movie nights. When Eunbi doesn't show up in her piano musical,the one she promised she wouldn't miss it for the world

"You're getting the hang of it" Eunbi praises Hyewon as the girl strummers the chords of guitar "You play guitar so well,then why piano?" Hyewon asks refusing to meet Eunbi's eyes "Piano has a different beauty to it. I wasn't a big fan but you made me adore it. It's notes are like beats of hearts that touch your soul. It's like a confession of love through music notes. I want to confess to Chaeyeon through it" Hyewon feels the pain in her shoulders again yet she stops her grunts from escaping

For the first time Hyewon hopes Eunbi breaks up with Chaeyeon. 

"You should move on-what's happening" The younger girls asks Hyewon who falls on her knees letting go of the umbrella holding her shoulder in pain "Eunbi she needs me" Hyewon doesn't care about her own pain and runs as fast as she can to reach the older girl

The pain keeps getting worse the closer she reaches to the older girl. She finally reaches there when she sees Eunbi walking away from Chaeyeon. 

A smile starts to appear on her face but it fades as soon as it makes its way on her face when Chaeyeon stops Eunbi and captures her lips. The pain becomes unbearable when Eunbi wraps her arms around her hugging her tightly

Hyewon looks down smiling bitterly. Taking steps back she slowly walks away and then runs as fast as she could to the music room of the college

With puffy eyes she stared at the piano with anger. Hands reaching for the guitar as she charged towards the pianos 

"NO!" The short haired girl immediately stood in front of the piano stopping Hyewon from doing anything. Hyewon stared at the piano for some more moment before putting down the guitar 

She walked towards the piano with weak steps allowing herself to collapse in her arms. "Thats unrequited love does to us it makes us hate the things we love the most" The girl whispers hugging her tightly not caring about their drenched clothes

Hyewon just cries in her arms cursing life for being so cruel to her

The short haired girl takes a sigh of relief when she looks at the sleeping figure of Hyewon in her bed "For her you might be just a mere existence but for me you're a precious existence that I want forever" She whispers caressing her head

"Hey" The short haired girl opens her eyes when she feels a hand shaking her "You shouldn't sleep like this" Hyewon smiles gently patting the empty spot beside her "You want me to sleep beside you" She asks raising her brows

"I need you to sleep beside me" Hyewon smiles softly as the girl slowly joins her under the sheets.

"You can hug me you know I think I'll need that" Hyewon whispers quietly allowing the younger girl to wrap her arms around her

"Don't start crying" Eunbi teased Hyewon who eyes all the boxes outside their dorm "I won't it was bound to happen sooner or later" Hyewon replies coldly "I feel sad now that you put it this way I didn't knew after graduation I would be moving in with Chaeyeon" Eunbi pouts opening her arms for Hyewon who just pulls her into a hug

"You're starting a new chapter in life don't look back now. I'll just say this to you that everything you have been looking for was always right beside you, you just needed to look for it" Hyewon whispers gently patting her back

"Ooo best friends bidding farewell" Hyewon breaks the hug looking at Chaeyeon who immediately engulfed Eunbi in a side hug

"Yah we're being sappy here" Eunbi smacks her shoulder giving her a lecture who their "friendship"

Hyewon tilts her head smiling at the sight of Eunbi being playful. She doesn't care if her fiance is right there. 

"Take care of her from now on...I have taken care of her my entire teenage years....she is a precious existence to me so keep her happy" Hyewon whispers hugging Chaeyeon as her eyes stare at Eunbi inside the car playing with her dogs

"Don't worry she is in safe hands...thanks for being by her side" Chaeyeon assures her as the break the hug. Hyewon looks away as the car fades away right before her eyes

"Found you" Hyewon flinches holding the guitar for her dear life "I was waiting for you" Hyewon mumbles 

"Sorry I was getting food for us" The girl replies "Your hair are long now" Hyewon whispers playing some chords of guitar "Is there something wrong?" The girl asks touching her hair

"No....you look good in them" Hyewon compliments with a smile

"Play me your favorite"

"You are my favorite"

Eunbi frustratingly runs her hand through her hair as she get out of the car with Chaeyeon following her behind

"Oh Eunbi dear" Hyewon's mother hugs inviting both of them inside "I was wondering if Hyewon is here" Eunbi asks looking around to see how much their house has changed "Oh dear she left the day after her graduation,she was actually waiting for you but understood that you would be busy that's why you didn't make it" Mrs Kang replied as Yujin showed up with a album in her hand

"Ooh Eunbi unnie it's has been a long time since I last saw you" Yujin given the older girl and her girlfriend a hug before sitting beside them "I really wanted to make it for her graduation but both is us were quite busy" Eunbi muttered out

"I need to go to the restroom" Chaeyeon said "I'll show you" Yujin got up leading Chaeyeon "Eunbi dear please don't go without having lunch with us" Hyewon's mother got up giving her a hug "Can I see her room?" Eunbi asked "Sure"

Eunbi didn't knew why she started tearing up after seeing Hyewon's room. The room was filled with Hyewon. Her trophies,medals, certificates,her gaming consoles and her comic books

She blames her work. She hasn't seen the latter for 2 years now.

She stumbles upon a box that was kept at the side of her closet. With curious eyes she lifts it up and opens it. There are some journals and some letters but there is also a small polaroid

She lifts it up looking at the baby picture of Hyewon. Her eyes then look at the black mark on the back of her shoulder blade. She grabs the photo album that Yujin brought and looks for some more pictures

She finally finds one in which a 12 year old Hyewon is holding a guitar. She is wearing a muscle shirt exposing her bare shoulders. 

Her eyes look for the black mark that looks clearly like a daisy. She looks at her arm and then the picture

"No......no...way...this...can't be" Eunbi drops the picture in her hand and looks at the contents of the journals and letters

She doesn't realize that she is already crying when she finishes reading the letter. The soulmate she was looking for was always right there. She didn't notice it. The live she wanted was right beside her yet she ignored all the signs

She looks at the side of the box and sees a note

"Mom please throw this box away after I leave I don't think I want to keep this anymore"

Eunbi hugs the letter close to her heart thinking how much she has caused pain to Hyewon

"Eunbi why are you crying?" Chaeyeon hugs her wiping her tears as Eunbi just cries "All these years the love I was longing for was right beside me but I was just so stupid" She cries out remembering Hyewon's last words before she left

2 YEARS LATER

"Because of you I didn't get sleep" Eunbi looks at Chaeyeon angrily who just smiles "Babe it was a conference call I had to take it" Chaeyeon explains giving her a seat to sit

"Remind me why are we here" Eunbi sighs fixing her hair "The daughter of the president of my company is getting engaged today" Chaeyeon says 

"Their sorry is really sweet" Chaeyeon speaks all of a sudden "Hmm tell me" Eunbi asks "President told me that his daughter and her soon to be fiance were in the same high school and college. Her fiance was someone's soulmate and also loved them but that live turned out be one sided. His daughter was also involved in one sided love with her. After graduation both of them moved to America and they finally gave each other a chance. Her fiance pooped the question in the terrace of the dorm building of the same college they first met, funny thing is she made sure it was raining because the day she realized she was healing was when she kissed her for the first time under the rain"

"That's honestly so romantic" Eunbi said thinking about a girl who was in the same place years ago "This is like an after party...they said they wouldn't wear rings again in front of a crowd because it's their special moment and they just want it between them"

"We should be outside then" Eunbi questions "Well not all guests are here and president kim allowed me to stay in his house then....so" Chaeyeon flexed her connection making Eunbi giggle

"This house is pretty" Eunbi said looking at the luxury house "This house is actually a gift to president daughter by her fiance"

"You keep saying president daughter just say her name" Eunbi says rolling her eyes "Her name in Kim chae"

"KIM CHAEWON COME BACK" Both of the jump up from their place looking around to find where the screaming is coming from

"ZEZE I'LL SAVE YOU" Eunbi turns around to see a girl in casual clothes running around with a dog in her hand "GIVE HIM BACK CHAEWONIE" 

Running behind the girl comes a familiar girl she hasn't seen for almost 5 years. Her eyes follow the girl who hugs the latter from behind throwing both of their bodies on a sofa

The entire house is filled with their giggles as the couple continues fighting on the sofa

"Yah Kim Chaewon this ain't fair he peed on my games" Hyewon pouts reaching for the dog "Baby I told you I'll get new ones for you" Chaewon squishes her cheeks "No you don't get it these were the first set of games you got for me back in highschool" Chaewon widens her eyes

"Oooo you kept them and told me that you threw them away" Chaewon wiggles her brows "Yes I kept them with me...they give me comfort knowing it's from you who stayed with me forever" Hyewon removes the strands of hair from her face with a smile

"You know all these years loving you I never thought confession would become this easy for you" Chaewon smiles leaning down to kiss the older girl but they don't get to when the dog barks

"Holy we have company here" Chaewon pushes her fiance away immediately standing up to fix her clothes 

"Umm sorry to disturb Chaewon ah but your dad allowed us to be here" Chaeyeon bows as she flashes an apologetic smile

"Longtime no see Eunbi unnie" Hyewon looks at Eunbi who is frozen on her spot "Wait you're her wife" Chaewon points at Chaeyeon at shock "She is" Hyewon says "You didn't tell me a name you just said she fell in love with a girl from dance club"

"Babe go and get ready hmm I'll be following you behind" Hyewon gives her quick peck on her lips sending her away 

"You guys want to sit" Hyewon asked sitting down "You jerk" Eunbi punches her chest before throwing her ames around. Hyewon smiles hugging her back

"It's nice to see you again too" Hyewon whispers "Look haven't I grown up" Hyewon shakes her head showing her fluffy bangs to the couple making both of them tear up

"You never told me...why?" Eunbi asked "You never asked me....just kidding.... being soulmates is a inner connection we can just feel it...I knew it the day I met you...I didn't know that you wouldn't feel it" Hyewon replies picking up the dog in her arms

"Wait Hyewon how did you know that we found out?" Chaeyeon asked making Hyewon chuckle "Ahh you got me....I knew you would come after my graduation...so I discussed it with my parents and Yujin...it was the right time to let you know"

"Call me evil but I really wanted you to feel the pain I did from my perspective so that pain will allow you to grow" Hyewon smiles giving the younger girl a gentle pat on her shoulder

"I am happy you got someone who was brave enough to stay by your side Hye"

"I am very lucky to have her with me without her I wouldn't be smiling like this"

Eunbi pulls her for another hug "You said that the chances of us marrying out first love were very low you were right I am hugging my first love right now while she is already someone's else"

"I know right" Hyewon whsipered "How did you know that you're my first love" Eunbi asked "I always thought if you gave me false hope but the thing was the you really hated the idea of yourself falling in love with me I saw it in your journal" Hyewon pulls away with a smile

"BABE I WANT TO DITCH THIS PARTY" Chaewon screams from upstairs "THE FEELINGS ARE MUTUAL" Hyewon shouts winking at the couple who make a gesture to zip their mouths

"Lets ditch after the first half an hour I'm craving some pizza" Chaewon comes downstairs showing her dress to Hyewon "What my baby wants and you look gorgeous as usual I'll go change now" Hyewon takes a quick peck and rushed upstairs with Zeze following behind

"Hey I never get to thank you enough for taking care of her and making her happy"

"You don't need to thank me even if our ending turned out to be sad I'll still love her" - "I'll never let her be a loser in love again"
