Description

 

every morning, he would be by her doorstep and she would be there getting ready to take off for school. he would look at her with his ever friendly eyes

but she wouldn't notice because her shoelaces has all her attention. she only becomes aware of his presence when she jumps to her feet, ready

to leap out of their house, "oh, jeno!" she exclaims, "it's always great to see you every morning," she says as her eyes travel to the milk-filled

bottles the boy was carrying in a basket. "you can leave them right here on the porch, mom will be collecting them in a minute."

 

jeno notices there are circles beneath her eyes, telling him she probably was up all night. he nods in response, "no worries, I will wait for your mom."

 

"alright then, I might need to run now, I can't be late for school." she says while doing a jogging gesture. to that jeno lowly laughs, "go on, haneul."

 

haneul gives jeno a smile before she finally takes flight, "see ya around!"

 

mornings filled with smiles and familiar faces, errands and duties.

 

the rays of the sun bring down warmth and gladness the same their typical encounter does.

 

the two have always been accustomed of each other's presence but never quite knew how their companionship would mean.

 

this is how their friendship begins.

 

 

Foreword

 

jeno is quite known in the neighbourhood as the boy who would deliver goodness to each family by bringing a basket of milk bottles every morning.

he is known as the kind boy who serves not only his family but the whole town.

 

while haneul is known for being the smart girl who is believed to bring honour to her hometown with her academic achievements.

she is known as the girl every student aims to be.

 

they are at both very similar in many ways, yet are on the different ends of the spectrum.

 

both familiar to each other, yet very foreign at the same time.

 

distanced, until the day they start understanding life and the many struggles and gifts it brings.
