at the start of their high school careers, four of the most talented students to ever attend sterling arts academy joined together to form a string quartet, an ensemble that solidified their reputations as musicians, and the academy's as an institution. by their senior year, the four were so busy with solo careers — supposedly motivated by disagreements, rivalries, and all the other hallmarks of high school drama — that they could only be convinced to play one short piece together for graduation before disbanding permanently.
now college juniors, "the quartet" have all moved on to bigger and better things. they haven't talked in years, and if they do miss each other, they'd never admit it out loud.
but when they're all booked to perform at the same collegiate music education conference, it seems like fate is determined to bring them together, if only for one final performance.
