They're 52 when they meet again. 
A little older. 
A little more wrinkly. 
But the charge in the air changes when they get a little too close. 
It's Donghae who notices Hyukjae standing in front of the ice cream truck, wearing a hideous green jacket with khaki pants & a white t-shirt.
He's wearing shades that look a little too big on his small face, yet the smile on his lips is exactly the same as it was back when they were 15. 
Before Donghae can take another step towards the man, a woman steps into Hyukjae's embrace and he wraps his arms around her gently. 
She leans her head on his chest and he softly kisses the top of her head. 
Then the woman says something funny, and Donghae knows because Hyukjae throws back his head oh-so-delightfully, that's when Donghae hears it. 
The laughter.
The laughter that Donghae has missed these past 15 years. 
So he closes his eyes and savors the moment, albeit from a distance. 
He doesn't want to mess up what Hyukjae has. 
True, he never loved anyone the way he loved this man. 
But letting go was what made Hyukjae happy.
So that's exactly what Donghae did. 
Nowadays, he spends his time writing songs for the new idol groups. 
He visits his mother more often. 
He plays with Donghwa's children and does charity work on weekends. 
Life hasn't been bad for him at all. 
So why should he be thankless?
Oh but, his heart. 
It never mended. 
It's still broken. 
Shards scattered all over, & he just hasn't mustered up the courage to gather up the pieces yet. 
Maybe he'll heal. 
Or maybe he'll learn to live with it. 
The warmth that left him 15 years ago is yet to return.

Hyukjae watches Donghae's retreating back while his wife talks on the phone. 
The beach is breezy & it's ruffling Donghae's shoulder length hair in the most beautiful way ever. 
The man never stopped going to the gym, for it showed and Hyukjae just knows he still drinks those healthy smoothies.
Hyukjae looks away the moment Donghae's shadow disappears behind a parked SUV. 
He hopes Donghae didn't realise that he knew he was there this entire time, watching him closely. 
It would only hurt him more. 
Hyukjae loves his wife. 
He loves her very much. 
But she knows.
She's known since day 1.

How Hyukjae lied to Donghae about having fallen in love with some woman when in reality, there was none.
