Synopsis
All Yeon Joo ever wanted to do was sing. She would sing along to the radio; she would sing aloud while walking on the streets; she would sing at every talent contest her school hosted and won first place for some of them too. At 20 years old, Yeon Joo finally dared to take that first step closer to her dream of becoming a singer, a k-pop singer, even if that meant becoming her parents' greatest disappointment and shame. Even if that meant moving into the city alone and leaving everything she knew behind. Because she no longer cared about what her parents thought of her. It was time for her to live her life, her way.
Having been in the k-pop industry for 13 years, Taemin has picked up several tips, secrets, and tricks to juggle his public image and personal, private life. He has learned from past experiences that being completely transparent with the public was unwise. Stupid even. As a result, Taemin became an expert in showing just enough to satisfy the public eye's curiosity and keeping personal aspects of his life private.
A fateful day brought Taemin and Yeon Joo to the same filming studio as guests of a new talk show called Midnight Snacks and Confessions, and they quickly find their lives are about to get a whole lot more complicated.

Yeon Joo is a fictional character, and I am not referring her to any existing idol. You can mentally replace Yeon Joo with y/n if you want. I just find it more pleasing to have an actual name in the story.

I have thought very long and hard about whether I'm going to write SHINee as five members, including Jonghyun, or not and have decided to stick as close to the reality now. This means that I will not be including Jonghyun in this fic whenever the other SHINee members are mentioned. This is not because I do not love him. I am forever on the OT5 boat, and I love Jonghyun with all my heart. So please don't feel offended or anything. It just sits better with me this way.
