   I’m just a lowly fish stuck in a sea of chaos, trapped inside the frothy waves and drug by the swift current. I am just a guppy in a sea of sharks, a clown fish in a tank of eels or a gold fish in a bowl trying futilely to escape the cat. Everyday I swim in circles just beneath the water’s surface and watch the sky above. I stare longingly at the seagulls gliding effortlessly through the sky and pray for the day that they will pluck me from the sea and carry me away. I pray for the day I will be able to fly like a bird, though I am just a lowly fish. If not a gull, then a fisherman may catch me. A fisherman can help me fly on his sharp hook and attached to his thin line. Even though both gull and man’s goal is to end my life, to devour my body and consume my being for their own sustenance, I still desire to be among them; for I was not meant to be a fish. No, I was meant to be a bird.
 

   What I didn’t expect was that a cat would be the one to snatch me from the water and carry me gasping across the land. It was a cat that caught this fish. It was a cat that turned me into a bird and It was a cat that devoured me. Cats do not care if you are a fish or your are a bird. They do not care whether you have fins or wings. Cats consume both feathers and scales. They are hungry for flesh and always on the hunt. Yes, I was the victim of a feline predator, all because I fell in love with a bird.
