Eunjae whines in her sleep when she feels a gentle caress around her hair, making her forces her eyes open and clucks her tongue upon seeing Sehun smiling down at her as he lies sideways on their bed, neatly dressed up. She has been avoiding him ever since last night and immediately forces herself to sleep once she came out of the bathroom despite Sehun trying to talk to her.

“Darling.”

Sehun softly said, his hand didn’t stop caressing his wife’s hair,

“I told you don’t call me that.”

Eunjae frowns as she looks at Sehun who didn’t stop smiling,

“You’re my wife and I won’t stop calling you darling. Darling.”

Sehun playfully said, making Eunjae moves her hand to punch his chest as he then playfully pretends that her soft punch hurt, resulting to Eunjae rolling her eyes,

“I’m sleepy, don’t disturb me.”

Eunjae growls, closing her eyes to resume her sleep,

“I’m sorry about last night. You’re right, I should stand up for you because you’re my wife, but Eunjae.”

Sehun sighs,

“She’s my mother and I don’t want to—“

“You don’t have to apologize if you still ended up siding your mother, Sehun. I don’t care and I mean it. She hates me? That’s not a problem because I’ve said to you last night that I can hate her better than she does to me.”

Eunjae said with a frown on her face as she stares at Sehun who’s pursing his lips before he sighs again,

“You’re both important to me, darling and I don’t want to lose any of the two of you. I promise I’ll take care of you, forever and I’ll love you with my every being.”

Sehun sincerely said, his hand that’s caressing Eunjae’s hair moves to caress her cheek as he looks at her with so much love in his eyes,

“Really?”

Sehun hums,

“I promise.”

“Then, if you were to choose between me or your mother, who will you choose?”

Sehun’s face turns pale and hearing no answer from him after a few minutes, Eunjae nods as she closes her eyes, hiding the slight pain she feels in her chest,

“I want to sleep. Go away.”

“Darling--”

Eunjae groans as she sits up on the bed, her eyes glaring at her husband,

“I said, I want to sleep! Which part of my words that you don’t understand, Oh Sehun?!”

Eunjae starts screaming on Sehun’s face but the guy remains calm as he smiles and nods, leaning forward toward his wife and gently pecks a kiss on her forehead,

“I’m sorry, sleep now. I need to go to the hospital but I promise I’ll be back home as early as I can.”

Eunjae ignores Sehun as she crosses her arms on her chest, her eyes looking away from Sehun’s face and when she heard the room’s door being closed, she touches her forehead where Sehun planted his kiss just now. Sighing to herself, Eunjae clucks her tongue before she lies back on the bed, closing her eyes to resume her sleep with her heart thumping so loud.

After taking her shower in the morning, Eunjae makes her way out of Sehun’s room and bumped into her father-in-law who’s eyes fixed on his smartphone until he saw his daughter-in-law,

“Good morning, Eunjae.”

“Morning, dad.”

Eunjae chirps with a genuine smile on her face,

“Go down and have your breakfast. Sehun asks me to help look after you. That guy, he loves you so much that he keeps on texting me asking me to make sure you take your meals and have a good rest.”

Eunjae chuckles, feeling a little bit annoyed with the way Sehun’s behaving, even asking his dad to look after her, probably because he’s afraid that she’ll pick a fight with his mother again, not because he truly loves her or even care about her. Excusing herself, Eunjae makes her way to the kitchen and immediately rolls her eyes when she saw her mother-in-law sitting on one of the chair at the dining table, calmly sipping on her tea. Eunjae clears , making the older woman turns to look at her as she then scoffs mockingly towards Eunjae, standing up from the chair harshly and throws her remaining tea in the sink,

“Spoiling my mood! My day is already ruined today!”

Mrs. Oh said as Eunjae smirks, gracefully making her way towards the dining table and takes her seat. She purposely pretends to sniff on the fried rice,

“Umm… Smells good. Can’t wait to try this.”

Taking the plate and the cutleries to herself, Eunjae scoops the fried rice into her plate as Mrs. Oh turns to look at her,

“Hey woman! Who do you think you are? Shamelessly eating the foods I prepared! Do you think I’m your maid?! Don’t act like you’re wanted in this house! No one wants you! I pity my son for forcing himself to marry a trash like you!”

Eunjae couldn’t care less with whatever s her mother-in-law said as she starts eating the fried rice. Calmly munching the rice, she throws her spoon on the plate and looks up at her mother-in-law with a disgusting look on her face,

“The smells are good, but the tastes, ergh.”

Waving her hand in front of her face, Eunjae then crosses her arms on her chest, watching her mother-in-law’s eyes widen in anger,

“.”

Mrs. Oh said, making Eunjae chuckles darkly as she shakes her head,

“You’re calling yourself?”

“You!”

Mrs. Oh lunges forward, her pointy finger straight up pointing in front of Eunjae’s face who didn’t even budge as she stares at her mother-in-law,

“I will make sure you lose your husband because Sehun is a good son and he’ll listen to whatever I said, even if that includes divorcing you, !”

Eunjae shrugs her shoulders, standing up from the chair with a knowing smirk on her face,

“Whatever you wish for, mom.”
