The Start

Introducing Heartquake (Closed)

“Crap,” Eun Mi cursed breathlessly as she ran through the alleyway toward the entertainment agency as fast as she could. She could already imagine her teammates scolding her and it didn't help that the clock continued to tick each second, a reminder that she was already ten minutes late.

But then again, it wasn’t responsible for the leader to sneak out of the dorm and come home late either. In all honest truth though, she couldn’t help herself. Big Bang’s last concert was last night and she had prepared months for that ticket and sadly it wasn't cheap.

She let out small smile as she neared the company, her brain commanding her legs to run faster even though they were numb already.

“Yah Ahn Eun Mi, where are you?” Soyeon whispered as she kept staring out the door of the dance room in hope that she would appear. The other three members stretched as they conversed about their debut next week and if Eun Mi didn’t show up before the CEO came in, all hell was going to break loose. Although they all should of been freaking out, the three youngest members remained chill at the thought that maybe, just maybe, their leader would show up late. So Yeon breathed out a sigh of relief as Eun Mi made her way up the stairs lightly, a mischievous smile on her lips.

"Aish," So Yeon whispered with a smile as Eun Mi wrapped her arms around her shoulder and turned her around to face the other girls. "Mianhe, I overslept," Eun Mi said as So Yeon softly hit her. The girls rolled their eyes playfully before each did what they needed to do in order to warm up.

If today was going like all had planned, Heartquake’s debut was on it’s way. It was their last evaluation as a trainee group, their outcome either walking them toward stardom or back to hell again. They all prayed it wasn’t the latter.

The teaser was successfully released about a week ago along with posters of the girls posing as a future group. Even though they were already announced as a group to debut, their CEO had warned them if they didn't pass the evaluation tonight, they would return to their trainee schedule and be delayed with further notice.

Having trained with one another for years, they all knew they needed to be each other's strength in order to survive and being Woollim's first female group was stressful. Thanks to their Infinite sunbaes, high expectations were set upon them but that didn't stop them from controlling the music and having fun.

Hyun Ok let out a big smile as she noticed the small wording on Eun Mi's shirt, finally understanding why she had snuck out last night and returned late too. “Unnie, did you go to Big Bang’s final concert?” she asked as Eun Mi widened her eyes in wonderment, "Oh, how'd you know?"

She was sure she did a good in hiding the fact that she was breaking one 'small' rule in their contract by going out late at night and if Hyun Ok could tell, does that mean she was like an open book. Hyun Ok stared at Eun Mi's blank face and broke into a fit of laughter as So Yeon smiled and pointed at her shirt.

"Yah, we know your love for them but is it really necessary for you to wear the shirt that says you went to the concert too? Mwoh? Big Bang Alive '12?"

Eun Mi shrugged casually but allowed a smile to escape her lips as she stretched her sore legs muscles and Mi Na couldn't help but roll her eyes playfully as she stood in her spot, her face turning to face Eun Mi behind her. “Unnie, you must be crazy sneaking out at night.”

So Yeon laughed as Eun Mi shook her head, defending her favorite idols, “Yah, I swore G-Dragon was looking at me. It was as if we connected you know? Our eyes met a couple of times and I almost touched him too.” She felt the need to brag about her role models and that only caused the girls to laugh more as they each sighed at their fangirling member.

Hyun Ok stared at Nana as they both communicated silently, Hyun Ok understanding as she spoke, “You know, if you wanted to meet Ji Yong oppa, all you had to do was ask NaNa. I'm pretty sure she'll be more then happy to introduce you two.”

Eun Mi made a face as Nana continued, "You can just ask Unnie. I have his number in my phone and oppa's not a bad person. He's a bit conceited but isn't that what draws you to him?" She asked as the girls all laughed at the latter comment. "YAH," Eun Mi screamed as she grabbed the small remote and made her way in front of the mirrors. "Let's get in position," she encouraged as she tried adding in the small amount of practice they could get before the important people came in. She quickly changed her precious Big Bang shirt before putting on a loose t-shirt as she stood beside her members in case her managers asked her where she got it from. Her fingers pressed the portable remote and waited for the music to start.

"Hwaiting," Nana smiled as she raised her fist in the air, the girls following in pursuit not a second later. The doors opened slightly enough for the people outside to see what was happening within and as the boys caught the girls practicing, they couldn't help but allow a smile to appear on their faces. As the song neared the middle, they heard a coughing behind them and immediately stood straighter, greeting the CEO as he cocked an eyebrow at them.

"Why are you guys out here like stalkers?"

The boys stared at him, jaws dropped as he chuckled lightly, opening the door to the practice room. The girls stopped immediately and bowed in greeting as he simply waved a hand at them. The boys made their way in happily as they stared at their hoobaes, a smile on their faces also. Each of them gave a small encouragement silently and the girls smiled in thanks.

Their CEO smiled brightly before nodding, "Have you guys been practicing hard?"

"Neh," The girls responded in unison as they stood in a straight line. "Let's start," he smiled warmly at the girls as they got into position. "Heartquake hwaiting~" Sung Jong screamed which in turn, earned a glare from the older boys.

They each nervously grabbed their assigned microphones and quickly tested it before Eun Mi nodded her head at their manager. A que that it was starting now. Their manager smiled before pressing the record button on the camcorder and stood behind it nervously.

Eun Mi smiled as she mouthed a small encouragement to her members 'Confidence'

The music took it's first beat and the girls moved in unison as they all let out a breath of air together.

'No~ The way that you dance in the moon~ Eun Mi sang into the mic smoothly.

The boys each leaned in as they anticipated the practice stage of the girls and couldn't help but hold in their breaths too. "Yah, that's my voice," Dong Woo smiled as he heard his voice recording. "Yah, they're singing," Sung gyu hissed as he turned his attention back to the girls. Dong Woo didn't care though as he mouthed to his words.

Mi Na took a deep breath as she took center stage immediately. Taking the first verse was nerve wrecking because not only were you starting the song, you were the first others heard when the song started and it could help them determine whether the group was worth listening to or just another group debuting.

Lee Mi Na is the sub vocal and sub dancer along with the maknae. She was lucky that her parents supported her all way. Even when the 19 year old maknae was struggling, they encouraged her to keep going because they knew what she was capable of. Everyone had expected her to become a doctor or a lawyer like her parents but she wanted to prove that she was going to make it big her own way. Her brother, Chanhee of Teen Top, knew of her pain for he is also an idol and gave her advice after advice. There were moments when he had wished she had quitted pursuing this dream but then he realized, she deserved more happiness then he did and if this made her happy, he was going to stand beside her. She was his baby sister after all.

MiNa's passionate about singing and dancing and dedicated all her time to those two things. She is usually the one always at the practice studio first and the last one out. Out of all the other 4 girls, she had trained the shortest and because she didn't have enough experience, she always feared that she was the one bringing the girls down. She had only trained for one year but she gained the respect of her older members through her hardwork.

Being the maknae, she was countlessly scolded for not being confident compared to her unnies and having the weakest voice. Her unnies encouraged her to keep it up though because they all knew how dedicated she was and they couldn't be more happier when she was choosen for their group. Because she is the maknae, she isn't afraid to walk up to someone and introduce herself. She's courageous but also very clumsy causing her to be easily embarrassed and is famous for growing red as a tomato whenever she is embarrassed. She's known as the cherry maknae within the company and is loveable and cute.

Although Mi Na was the first singer of the song, her unnies trusted her to make a strong start. Mi Na had to make sure they were a group worth watching and worth knowing more about. Her heart thumped wildly as she sang her verse, a smile making it's way onto her lips as she watched her CEO smile in content. She quickly moved behind her members as the lead vocalist took control.

So Yeon fiercely took the center stage as Eun Mi danced to her left and Hyun Ok to her right.

Isabell Lee So yeon is the lead vocalist and a child of divorced parents. She was born in Neunggok, Goyang and her mother took her and left her father in secret. Her mother had hid her from her father and so when he found her, her mother wasn't happy. She now lives with her father and her new family. Her step mom had already had two children but her new siblings love and treat her as if she was their real sister.

She's the maknae in her family and has one older sister and one older brother. Her older sister always looked out for her and her brother made sure to take care of anyone daring to break her heart. Her brother is Lee Eun Hyuk of Super Junior and because of that, she was always around the Suju boys until she started training. Her parents are in full support of her decision and makes sure to always call her often.

The 21 year old lead vocalist is extremely lazy when it comes to sports and would rather let her dongsaengs claim the prize for being the fastest runner. She studied hard to maintain her As as a student and graduated with being one of the top best in her class. Because she isn't sporty, she replaces it with dancing and eating right. She's extremely independent and never seeks for help unless neccessary and has danced for GNA before.

She's been with Woollim for 4 years and is known for her amazing vocal talent. She started officially training at the age of 16 but she was no rookie to vocal training. She had been fortunate enough to start vocal training at the age of 8 and has been continuing since. She was accepted immediately after auditioning and has been with Woollim since then. She's one of the earlier trainees along with Eun Mi and they're able to understand each other quickly (even though their personalities are different).

She hates sitting in silence and therefore, always tries to fill the silence or brighten the mood when it's awkward. She is the hardest to wake up but willingly does it after five minutes or so. She helps lead the team when Eun Mi is busy and is the mother of the family.

So Yeon sang her verse amazingly and as she moved to the side, Eun Mi took the chorus and stared fiercely into the camera as she sang.

Ahn Eun Mi is the leader and main vocalist of Heartquake. She's 21 years old and had been training in Woollim ever since she was 15. It was a year after she joined that they introduced So Yeon and after that year, Hyun Ok, making Eun Mi the oldest trainee out of all 4 girls in the group. When announced that she was leader, she was quite surprised. Not only did she think she was unfit, she found So Yeon to be the better leader but the girls said she fitted the role perfectly.

She is the youngest daughter out of two older brothers and her second brother is the famous Kangta. Others had wondered why she went to Woollim instead of SM but she was tired of being known as Kangta's younger sister and so, she tried every other agencies aside from SM. Because she is the youngest out of two boys, she is extremely tomboyish. She was eventually scounted by Tablo and he became her mentor.

She is a big fan of Big Bang and loves them to death and has been supporting them ever since debut. She claims they helped her in her time of sadness. Although her parents were a bit reluctant to support her, they eventually did because they had already experienced the troubles from her older brother. Her oldest brother is a lawyer and has always helped her spark an interest in that field as well (Even though her heart beats for music). As a child, her mother had forced her to become girlier, putting her in ballet but her mother didn't know that after school, Eun Mi always went to dance battles.

She kept with the piano for her mother's wishes and played the guitar in private. After her mother found out, she sighed in defeat and let Eun Mi do her own thing. Eun Mi enjoys writing songs in her free time but doesn't think any of them are any good. Usually after a good day, she likes to sit up on the rooftop of buildings and just stare at the city or stars. She doesn't get angry nor cries easily but when she does, she tends to explode because she's been holding everything in.

As her verse ended, Eun Mi moved out of the way and allowed Nana to take control.

Song Na Hyun aka Nana is the main rapper and is the only child. She isn't from a high class family and growing up, she struggled a bit.

Her parents were forced to marry through an arranged marriage for company affairs and because they were married without true love, Nana was brought into the world out of love.

Her father is japanese and her mother is korean therefore leading her to be half japanese and half korean. They named her Song Na Hyun but because she was born on the seventh day of the month, she went by Nana majority of the time. The only reason her parents had herwas because everyone around them had forced them to have a child.

When she turned six, her mother found out that her father had been having multiple affairs behind her back thus forcing her to leave. Her mother did love her father in a way and because she loved him, she made herself the bad person, lying to the press that she was the one having an affair and divorced him.

Nana and her mother moved back to Korea right after where they were living life full of love. People with both parents couldn’t deny the love that her mother had for her. She was willing to dig through the world just for her daughter and for that, Nana worked her off for her. She wanted to make it big to repay her mother for all she had done.

People see her as a cold woman for she has no shame in telling people what their problem is but that didn't mean she was made out of steel. She cherishs those around her and worked hard for them. Before Nana joined Woollim Entertainment, she had spent 2 year and 8 months at YG Entertainment, spending her last year at Woollim. It had been weird for Nana to join the girls so shortly but they welcomed her and she fitted right in. The 20 year old rapper was their sister.

After Nana rapped the first part, the girls continued with their roles until the loving Hyun Ok stepped to claim the stage.

Lee Hyun Ok was the main dancer and you were able to tell right away that she devoted her life to it. The 20 year old had been training in Woollim Entertainment since she was 16. She joined a year after So Yeon did and understood the life of the trainee.

She's very competitive in the areas of sport and dance and is probably the most active among her members. She never refuses a challenge and tries her hardest to rise to the top. She knows how the entertain herself and although she's your happy go lucky girl, she gets annoyed easily if not fed.

She's a hard worker but she tends to get tired easily causing her teammates to use any necessary bribery to get her up again. Out of all 5 girls, their managers like to joke that she's the hardest to deal with. Although she's a hundred percent korean, she wasn't born in Korea. Instead, she was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, where her parents met and fell in love. She carries a bit of that culture within her.

Because she's the only child, her parents gave her everything she wanted and although her father did question her life career sometimes, he did anything to make his only child happy. Although he supports Hyun Ok, he has his moments where he kind of wished she would have gotten a career instead and a good husband. Her mother on the other hand though, couldn't support her enough. Hyun Ok's mother always wanted to be an idol but  wasn't able to so she lived it through her daughter.

Hyun Ok was asked to audition upon chance. Being the random girl that she is, she started dancing inside a crowded restaurant where one of the talent scouts seemed to be eating as well. He saw how she was able to move and asked her to come and audition. She speaks english very well due to her parents and moved to Seoul shortly after she was accepted into Woollim.

As the song came close to an end, the boys couldn't help but chuckle at the girls enjoying their time. Woo Hyun bobbed his head to the beat and they all clapped wildly at the ending of the song. It wasn't their decision to make though whether the girls would get to debut or not and as they waited for that answer, the tension in the air grew.

"Meet here at 10 tomorrow morning for your fitting," the CEO simply stated as he stood up with the representatives. The girls stood in shock as he left the room and stared at one another. Was that an okay?

Eventually catching onto their clueless states, Sung gyu smiled, "You guys are debuting."

And with that, they all screamed. They finally made it and it was only so far until they could finally taste it.
