"You did great...." Jungkook mutters to himself, body aching from exhaustion. He wants to believe in those words, but they don't ring true.

Maybe, if someone would tell him from time to time that he's doing a nice job, his whisper wouldn't sound so odd. But no one ever does, and the feeling of hopelessness persists in his head and in his heart.

Lights off, forearm covering half of his face, Jungkook wishes his bed could swallow him whole for an hour and give him a semblance of rest, but it won't. It nags him and leaves him alone with doubts and mistrust for company.

That night though, despite his closed eyelids and heavy mind, Jungkook sees those pure and sincere eyes. They seem to obsess him since the day he has felt them traveling on himself.

That night, Jungkook falls asleep, yearning for those two eyes to look right through him.
