I absolutely adored Greek mythology growing up, but something that always struck me was that each of the gods were shown to have true flaws and alarming amounts of cruelty. The crux of this story for me is the dichotomy between the realms of these two goddesses. It'll be episodic in nature, but the central relationship has the 'constant development' of my other stories.
We will be in the modern world, so all of the events you've read about in mythology have long since passed (though some might have better memories of those times than others). If I reference a myth, I will do my best to explain it either in the story itself or in an author's note. There are a great many interpretations, iterations, as well as my own personal takes on the myths. I do not mean to trivialise the Greek gods and goddesses, nor the tales they are tied to.
The characters I'll be writing are not outright cruel, but they still retain their flaws. However, they are rather desensitised to the progression of time, perhaps disillusioned with the world, and doubtful of their respective places within that world. For example, Dahyun may or may not be really interested in setting foot on the moon.
While Twice are portrayed as shown above, the other gods are likely to retain their Greek names. Liberties will be taken when it comes to the relations between the goddesses, as this is a Twice story.
A big inspiration for me writing a story mixed in with Greek mythology was one called godless by Chaebae12. In addition to the Saida pairing (where Dahyun is Athena, while Sana is Aphrodite), it has a marvelous mystery element to it and I love how each of the characters are developing! Be sure to check it out as well.
