Ji Min bobs his head. “I understand everything.”
I exhale sharply and press my hands firmly against my eyes.
“If you need to cry, you can. It's not a problem,” he speaks gently, pushing a box of tissue towards me on the table. “If the emotions want to come out, it just means they have to.”
A soft chuckle resonates in my closed mouth as I let my hands fall on my legs. “Nothing's coming out,” I whisper. “I must not have any tears left to cry.”
Ji Min's lips stretch into a small, gentle smile. Oddly, each and every little gesture of his is comforting. I don't want to trust him, yet I can't help but feel at ease in this shop and in his company.
“I will send six doctors to help you,” he announces out of the blue, pulling me out of my thoughts.
“Six?” I repeat, brows arced upwards in surprise. “Don't you have other customers?”
He closes his eyes and slightly shakes his head. “Not a lot of people actually come after receiving the letter.”
“Yeah, well, honestly I almost didn't come myself. I'm even,” I pause to gesture vaguely at the space surrounding us. “Still wondering if all of this is true.”
“Oh, it is,” the young man assures and his lips stretch into a grin for the nth time since he sat in front of me. I'm not complaining, though. He's really good at smiling. “Which is why, I have some instructions to give you,” he then adds seriously. The contrast is a bit startling. “You should never reveal the real identity and role of the doctors and never mention that they 'appeared'. Most people are not ready to discover the Magic Shop, it could have serious consequences.”
I mentally note everything. It's all clear, except one word that makes me tilt my head in confusion. “What do you mean by 'appear'?”
Ji Min chuckles. He just gives me a, “You'll see.” and it's not satisfying. But I have to keep my curiosity at that for now; he stands up, inviting me to finish my tea and eat some clouds, and leaves for the desk. I bring the teacup to my lips. For
